((This is a private Rp between Seabhc and Tawariell please do not post)) _____________________________________________________________ Dark orange and lighter orange paws moved gently through the trees as they came to a clearing. The young female wolftaur looked around her bright blue eyes searching for movement. Seeing none so far she came to the center of the clearing only to find a nice big tree to sit under. Moving over her legs folded neatly underneath her and she sat down gracefully.
Beautiful birds sang songs and the wind whisled gently through the clearing, not like any of the sounds reached the never-hearing ears of the wolftaur. She smiled gently as hte gentle warm sun showered light down upon the clearing, though she was partly hidded in the shadow of the tree. Her gentle blue eyes watched aroudn the clearing, as she took in the beauty of the scene before and around her.

It was a beautiful day: the perfect day for a hunting trip, Fisk thought. He crept through the trees, head ducked low, hand-made spear raised slightly. His childhood self would have marveled at him. With the help of his pack and endless practice he had honed his skills and gained the renown he had always desired. He was a mighty hunter.
Of course, he admitted deep down, there was always work to do. Therefore whenever he could he practiced stalking his prey. There was not always a lot of prey to be stalked and he didn't end up actually killing most of his targets, but he could sneak up on most anything he chose. Especially when he was in the forest and his coloration helped him blend in with the vegetation.
At seeing something out of the corner of his vision he halted smoothly. Nothing but his eyes moved as he watched the orange color flicker amidst the greens and browns. When it stopped moving he eased closer, adjusting his hold on his spear and watching intently, until he was close enough to see that this was a taur. Nothing to be hunted. Blowing a sigh he relaxed and set his spear horizontally across his shoulders, hanging both hands over the shaft. It appeared to be a female wolftaur. Being a mighty hunter was a lonely business, so Fisk was happy to pad out into the clearing, hoping to socialize a bit. "Hi there," he said to her with a half smile.

Fisk had appeared to the wolftaur's left, and it jsut so happened that she jsut saw him enough to catch the end of the word, 'there'. So she awesumed the green wolftaur had said a greeting to her. "Good day." She replied in a gentle, quiet and carefully used voice. She looked up at him and saw the spear. She normally would shrink back, but maybe if she acted tough he wouldn't harm her, her mind raced through things he could be doing and landed on hunting.
Her bright blue eyes matched his paler gaze. He seemed nice enough, but then again, so did her father, and look what the overly perfectionist male wolftaur did to her. So as long as she could keep it up she'd not tell him that she was deaf, just incase. But then again, anouther part of her mind remembered her how nice was all her frienda about it, but they weren't wolftaurs, She thought she'd just push it off until she got to know the taur better. So she juet sat there with her legs and paws gently folded beneath her as she watched for his next move.

Noticing her glance at the spear and knowing well that walking around with it -- even on his shoulders and not in his hands -- might be seen as threatening, Fisk twirled it expertly in one hand and stabbed it into the ground, leaning on it casually with a smile. When he looked at the other wolftaur again he furrowed his brow a little. "Huh, you look familiar." He tilted his head and shook his hair from his eyes. "Can't remember from where, though."

Her gentle voice rang to his ears, "Many seem to remember me, but most have forgotten me." Come to think of it, she seemed to remember him too. Years ago, was he a taur in her old pack? She couldn't seem to recall, though that thought seemed to make most sense to her. Though a light ease of breath could tell Fisk that stabbing the spear in the ground relieved her.
Her legs were getting a tad sore so gracefully as she could manage she stood up. She was almost a minature version of her father except her colors were reversed and she didn't have the leg stripes, nor his green eyes, but instead her mother's blue ones. Once standing she returned her gaze to Fisk. "Are you, in a pack?" She asked carefully after. Just incase her hunch was right, maybe they did meet, maybe during the sickness she had that made her disabled and exiled. But her memory of that time was pretty much gone, and what happened before that, so it was pretty much helpless.

"I'm in a pack, yeah, back on Meon GarĂ¡n. Came over here in my boat to hunt in some different territory for a bit. It was getting boring over there, I know it all too well." He was peering at her still, trying to remember. It was a bit hazy and brief, whatever this memory was, but he was determined to get at it. If he could only...
"Oh!" He recalled something. "A little group of kids in a field, I think. I came over to this isle a while ago and wound up picking berries and flowers and stuff. Think that was it, you were there with a few other kids." He hadn't known very many taurs over here and she was the only wolftaur of them all. That's why he knew her, he was sure of it. Smiling warmly he left his spear in the ground and held out his hand. "I don't think we were introduced, though. I'm Fisk."

She smiled, glad that he wasn't from her old pack that she could see. "Yes, I was in the field," that she could cleary remember," no, I don't believe so." She nodded at his name, "Fisk." She tried out his name hoping she pronounced it right. Her mouth made the same movements so she assumed it right. "I'm Vena." She smiled. This wolftaur was nice. Hopefully there wouldn't be an incident where he learned of her deafness, and if there was, that he wouldn't think her totally inperfect and leave her, like he did.
As she stood there, the gentle breeze caught on her hair, her tail wagged slightly, showing she was indeed happy. A call of an eagle could be heard from above as it flew over them. Though her ears didn't twitch nor did she turn to face the eagle.

There was something slightly off about her speech, so slight that he wondered if he was imagining it. Maybe it was just an accent. He didn't know anything about her, after all, except that she was on this isle and not on the wolftaur isle. That could very well have altered her speech pattern. "Glad to meet you, Vena," he said with a sincere grin. "Where are you from? Don't see many wolftaurs in this area. It's nice to see another one 'round here."

Vena smiled at him. In her mind she realized she'd only met two other wolftaurs, Pomme de Sang and Fisk himself. "I'm from the wolftaur isles as well. I came over here once I was strong enough to make myself a boat." She told him. Her speech was indeed off, only the slightest as her deafness made it hard for her to actually hear what she was saying, so she was normally slightly off, but noone ever seemed to notice so she plaid it that way.
She smiled a true smile, not something polite. "I wish the tuars in my old pack were as nice as nice as..." she paused for a second, was this awkward to say? She couldn't tell, "you." She finished. It was true though. As soon as she was exiled every wolftaur she met there that knew her or 'knew' of her avoided her and other things, she bet if she went back now, they'd be shown that she was able to survive even without the gift of hearing. She'd prove them wrong. But for now, she'd better keep her mind in the conversation so she didn't lose any words if she could avoid it.

When she mentioned a boat his ears pricked up and his eyes brightened even more. "You made your own boat? That's really impressive. Mine was... a... gift, you could say." He winked roguishly. He'd stolen the boat, of course, but he didn't want to tell her that. It was a long time ago anyway and didn't matter anymore. Besides, he'd paid the owner back with anonymous gifts from his hunting trips.
Then when she said he was nice, his tan cheeks became a little duskier and his ears flattened back. "Oh, I, um, thank you." He was grinning uncontrollably and let out a laugh to try to hide it. Scratching the back of his neck he said, "Wolftaurs can be kind of harsh, can't they. I'm glad I met some others when I was little and saw another side, y'know?" With his thumb he gestured at his spear standing like a sapling at his heel. "Good hunters though."
His tail was wagging lazily. It really was good to be talking again; he'd been wandering the woods on his own for quite some time.

Vena nodded in her agreement. "They really can be." She seemed to phazse out for a second only to return to finishe speaking. "But yes, it's good that some are nice." At his words of hunting she nodded her head, "Yes, we are very good hunters, even on my own I learned to hunt well. With or without a weapon. Though it depends totally on the prey." Then in her mind she remembered he mentioned something about building a boat that was impressive and that his was a gift, "I was lucky I had paid attnetion when they showed us how to make boats and that mine didn't sink." She gave a sheepish grin.
Her bright blue eyes showed less fear in them and more kindess. She was one who was slower to warm up to others, but Fisk being a kind wolftaur might help make this work. Though in her mind she was still struggling with the fact that he could be ince, but he doesn't know she reminded herself.

"Yeah, that was lucky. Having it sink while you're in the middle of the sea would be pretty bad. Though I'm sure you can hold your own at swimming, too."
His eyes skimmed over her briefly. She was a rather pretty taur, he thought. Her eyes especially stood out against all the orange. Like... like what? He wasn't all that great with words. Like the sky, maybe, or the sea. Shrugging to himself he closed his eyes and turned his face upward to feel the sun on it. "Mmm," he sighed, "sure is a nice day." After a moment he straightened again and his bright green bangs fell in a shaggy curtain over his face, which he jerked aside. Smiling crookedly he bobbed his head at her. "Just been out enjoying the day, have you? Ha, I spotted you through the trees and I almost started hunting you. Lucky for you, I don't hunt taurs. Of course."

When he turned up his head Vena didn't catch what he said, though she knew he said something becuase his chin moved. Though the next words facing her she caught. "Yes, just enjoying the day." she replied wiht a nod of her head. She smirked when he mentioned seeing her in the bushes, "Well, I'd be more shocked if you hadn't seen me," she looked over his green pelt as well. Then finishing her quick scan her blue eyes met his paler blue eyes after skimming over his musles. He was strong she could tell, and not to bad on the eyes either. "I didn't see you, but I blame that upon your coloration." She said.
Then he mentioning not hunting taurs she laughed, "And even more, you don't hunt taurs of your race." She couldn't stop herself for laughing for a few minutes. Then she slowly pulled herself back together. She didn't believe she'd ever had so much fun with any one taur. Not even her brother Tarik.

He couldn't resist crossing his arms nonchalantly when she looked him over, which coincidentally showed off his biceps. "Green's a good color for me," he said, and he left it up to the imagination whether he meant that it was useful as camouflage or made him look good, or both. He laughed along with her, joking, "Yeah, cannibalism... not exactly my thing. I mean hey, it might work for some, but wolftaurs, we've got way too much fur to be worth trying to eat." He tapped his chin, pretending to be seriously considering. "Maybe a nice big centaur though. Quite a lot of meat on one of them I'd say."

A smiled crossed Vena's face when Fisk crossed his arms. She smriked when he looked like he was seriously considering cannibalism, "Yes, as others would say, 'We too fluffy to eat!'" She could help but laugh. This was too funny of a conversation, "Centaurs, hmm," she pretended to think, "Depends on who it is, otherwise, hey, why not? Other then they might taste odd." She though for a second and when she mentioned taste she made a screwed up face.
Then she decided to poke at a certain subject that was bothering her, "How do you feel about 'Taurs who are, ummm disabled? Like Deaf, or blind or mute?" She asked carefully, though trying hard to hold herself together, this was a, sensitive subject for her, being deaf and all. She hoped he wouldn't react badly like her old pack of wolftaurs did. THough ehr new friend on this isle didn't mind and went out of their way to make sure she 'heard' them. For that she was glad. Though she thoughts then returned to what was happening around her. Well basically Fisk, but that wasn't the point.
