In the last eight or so years, Children Of Bodom that darted to international fame with their debut, 1997’s "Something Wild", has gone from being "this amazing band from Finland" to a household name in the metalscene. And that, of course, is obvious given the intensity, sheer quality of their material and the flawless execution. (C) Spinefarm Records Read more at http://www.cobhc.com/index.php?id=bandAmazing band! I still like them, not as much as I used to granted. I'm partial to their Follow The Reaper and I actually like their latest one. It's good for when you're in a pissed mood and feel like blasting it out of your car when you could give less of a s**t who hears.

COB is not power metal. It's thrash/speed metal.

Digital Malevolence CoB is too power. neutral it's not, pal. Where's the clean vocals? where's the epic factor? where's the liberating feeling? Thrash/speed metal I say.

Power Metal doesnt need clean vocals. its a style of music not a style of vocals, the way the instuments are played not the way the person sings. neutral

If that were true then Wintersun would be power metal too. The vocals are a very important and definitory element in subgenres. In fact the most repeated reason you get for liking power metal from fans is 'because i like to understand what the guy's singing'.

They are Power just because they have harsh vocals doesn't change their genre. Other examples of bands like this are Kalmah, and Norther.

Every subgenre...except thrash has both clean and harsh vocals, thrash seems to always have some sort of harsh vocals in it for some reason. but anyways, vocals have nothing to do with the music the band plays, if vocals did have a part in that then what would you call instrumental bands? The way the songs are set up and the way the instruments are played is what defines subgenres, not the vocals. I wish I knew music theory, if I did then I could explain it better.
