It had been a day after his run in with the Gecko-girl that Victor decided to
go out in the jungle, but not on the 'safe' route he usually used to just head to the beach, instead he was crawling and scuttling his way though the jungle by the river.

The mutated lizardman didn't have real plan of where he was going, but he
just felt he needed to get out, and wander around, even if that meant going into parts of the jungle Victor wasn't sure was safe, or maybe he wasn't sure he cared.

Victor stopped to look out over the water flowing down the river, before slowly lurching onward, not sure where he'd go.

Meanwhile Richard was spending the day in her tree. She was fully aware that she had entered what could only be described as a rut. She just had not mustered the gumption to do something about it yet. The books that were stashed around her tree had all been read and Richard was eager for a distraction.

Her ears twitched as the sound of Victor's movement through the under brush reached her ears. Soundlessly, she retreated into the higher branches of her tree. From the higher vantage point she search for the source of the sound. For her prey.

Victor kept on his chosen path, not noticing the claw markings on the trees nearby, and unaware of Richard's presence as he crawled his way closer towards the Displacer-woman's tree, planning on just scuttling his way by and not stopping, the limbs on his back twitching and shifting about as he moved,
focused only on walking.

With as many limbs as Victor had, it took a great deal of concentration just to get around. and it was getting tiresome, Victor silently decided he ought to try and get to the beach after this little walk though the jungle.

The large feline smiled to herself as she peered through the branches as Victor crawled his way into view. On some level Richard recognized that this was a person. This managed to move Victor out of the food category but not out of the "source of amusement" category. She tensed, waiting for Victor to pass below her.

"Closer, Closer, little bit closer," she mentally willed the lizard man. Then with an inhuman scream of a jaguar, she sprung, landing on all fours behind Victor with enough force to shake the ground. She gave the tip of Victor's tail a hard n** for good measure, curious to see just how fast Victor could scuttle.

Victor's relative peace of mind was very quickly shattered as something in the tree above him screamed and then at the speed of gravity, landed directly in back of him, hard enough to make the ground shake. The lizardman started to turn his head to see what had just dropped down from the tree, when Richard Bit him.

He jerked himself away, tripping and stumbling over is own limbs and glaring at Richard as he swept his tail away.

"Rricchharrd! Whhat thhe Fucckk?! You Jusssssst BIT ME!" Victor shouted at Richard, both sets of jaws flapping as he spoke, looking at the tail to make sure it wasn't bleeding.

Richard's laughter collided with the feline growl in her throat to give the impression of a motor struggling to start, "Grh, Grh, Grh." Amusement seemed to possess her entire body from her whiskers to her erect tail. She made no attempt to stand as she advanced on Victor, four limbs firmly planted on the ground. "Aww. It was just a little bite, no harm done eh?" She padded around Victor in a circle, looking his change form over while simultaneously watching the Lizard man for any sign of a counter attack. This was her turf and she was going to make sure Victor was aware of that, manners were for the cafeteria.

She gave a feline huff, which roughly translated as a low whistle as she completed her circle around Victor. The serum was certainly doing a job on the poor boy.
"Its been while Victor. What brings you to my neck of the woods?"

The Lizardman watched as Richard came over closer, on all fours as Victor struggled to get back up on his own feet, keeping an eye on Richard as she circled him.

"Jusssst a little bite? You'rre acctingg no betterr thhan thhat damn Dogg thhat attacckked me!" Victor told the Feline-lady angerly, his large reptilian tongue slipping out of his mouth, a faint hiss coming out of his throat as he breathed quickly, what was going though Richard's head to make her act like that?

"Yourr necckk of thhe woodssss? I wasssss Jussssst wanderringg thhougghh thhe junggle, mindingg my own beforre you nearrly jumped on top of me, hhow am I ssssupposssed to kknow itssss thhisssss issss yourr sssspot? I ggot enougghh to worrrrry about withhout hhavingg you trry sssssneakkingg up on me!" The leg-wings and limbs on his back jerking as he spoke, his tail thumping on the sand

Why were they always so angry? Nobody seemed to able to take a joke. Nevermind that Richard herself hated to be surprised. Regardless of her hypocritical behavior Victor's anger flowed around Richard's demeanor, here he was prey and his feeling weren't important. Richard had no strong connection with Victor that enabled Richard's diminished capacity for empathy.

She tsked at the lizard man as she sat on her haunches in front of him, tail lashing behind her on the ground. "Now, now calm down son before you burst something. The only thing I hurt was your pride."

"As for signs." Richard pointed a thumb back at the heavily scarred tree trunk. "I think those are easy enough to read." She then pointed at other trees where the claw marks were also clear, although usually a foot or so above Victor's head. "And those over there."

Her tone took on the tone of a lecturing aunt. "You should pay more attention, Jamal's probably alot better at the sneaking thing than I am. The jungle ain't really safe for the oblivious." The smugness had died down some and as she talked that feral quality to her posture seemed to lessen.

Victor did his best to raise himself up up on his clawed limbs. True, Richard didn't really hurt him, but still, the feline-woman's actions and behavour was more like an animal's than human, and that did give Victor some worry, what about the next time Richard changed, would she just 'play' that kind of game again or something more serious?

Some darker thoughts passed though Victor's mind as Richard explained about the tree marks, glancing at one with only half interest. he had his initial outburst, and now his anger was on simmer.

"I alrready kknow about Jamal, I kknow he nearrly Kkilled Alecc and Jorrdan and done thhe deed to sssssome gguarrdssss, and Rricchharrd, I'm almossssst at the point I don't carre anymorre about whhat migghht happen to me out in thhe Junggle, and Thhat Fucckkingg Sssssccarressss me morre thhan Jamal or Annie"

Richard's eyebrows raised, that Jordan had been mauled was actually news to him. Although it wasn't really that surprising, it was surprising that he had survived. On the other hand she didn't know who or what Alec was. It had to be this unknown that had somehow saved Jordan's life.

As for the rest, Richard wasn't in the mood to sugar coat. "Oh, so your more upset I didn't kill you then?" She chuckled and licked her chops. "Nobody's going to say you didn't get a short straw. You said the change doesn't effect your mind. Ironic, you'll be the most human islander in one way and perhaps the least human physically. Just have to hope your body allows some independence right?"

"No, I'm morre Upsssset thhat you don't hhave thhe sssssenssssse to kknow whhen you sssshhouldn't be acctingg likke an Animal" Victor said as he listened to Richard, some saliva dripping from the corner of his upper mouth as he stood there, almost at eye level with Richard while she was on all fours.

"Rrigghht, jussssst hhope I don't mutate furrthherr and beccome a hopelesssss Frreakk messssss of limbssss thhat have to be amputated Ssssso I ccan walkk on my Own?! Yeahh, grreat fucckkingg trrade off to keep my mind uneffeccted, but allow the ssssserrum to lay wassssste to my body" Victor huffed, still angry, his tail shifting back and forth behind him irritably as he lurched himself closer to Richard

"Not thhat you carre, you jussssst sssssee it assss ssssomethhingg Ccurriousss, sssomethhingg new to sssee, yourr five minutesssss of Morrbid Enterrtainment. Richard could barely understand Victor through the hissing voice but his threatening body language was plain as day to her. The tentacles raised to their striking position as a warning. "I'm no animal Victor," She hissed at him, although aware that her habits had shifted with the transformations she would never concede she was an animal. Inhuman perhaps, but not an animal.

"If your looking for pity Victor you'll have to look some where else! I'm fresh out. We're all freaks here and we can't do anything about it." She snarled and bared her teeth, both at Victor and her own frustration. "I could have killed you, I did not, the thought didn't truely occur to me but one more injection and I might not. We deal with our own hells and our own set of possibilities."

Richard sneered, "Why should care? What do you have to offer? Are you bringing anything to the table?"

"Ccould hhave fooled me Rricchharrd, Lasst I kknew, people don't enterrtain themsssselvesss by jumpingg frrom trreessss and bitingg othherrssss"
Victor glared at Richard, too angry now to be worried about Richard's bared teeth and raised tentacles.

"I don't need Yourr Pity, If I did, I would hhave assssskked it of you a longg time aggo, whhen you werre sssstill a deccent perrsssssson Rricchharrd, but now you'rre morre a thhan a hearrtlesssss Bitcchh now, one damned ccold ccat" Victor hissed, his upper mouth hanging open as he coughed suddenly, some extra saliva coming out and running down his chin, which he wiped away. Victor suddenly turned around as if to go, and tripping over his own legs again and falling into a pile. the lizardman lay still for a moment, before trying to get himself up.

"Offerr to you? Isssss thhat all you carre about now, what othherr people can prrovide forr you? I ccan barrely gget thhe caferrerrterra doorr open Rricchharrd! whhat do ccould I posssssibly offerr you now?" Victor struggled and finally got his tangled limbs back in a sensible order to get up
