Hi everyone ^^ I'm new here so I hope that this isn't a repeat topic and that it's all okay and what not ^^
So, I've been reading the Anita Blake series for about two-three years now <3 and I sped through the books at the beginning like crazy, but I was wondering if there were any books that you found were harder to finish than the others, whether it was the lack of something, or too much of something.
There have been a few that I've bought and have tried plenty of times to read through without skipping pages, but I've noticed that I have a harder time reading when I no nothing about the particular book (lack of summary)
- Narcissus in Chains - Cerulean Sins - Obsidian Butterfly (Under the impression that it was faerie related >> )
Though, I've still continued the series and just filled in the numerous holes <3

The hardest for me was Obsidian Butterfly because of the lack of regular characters but i still got through and still think its a good read.

Blue Moon - the one where Anita has to go rescue Richard when he's accused of rape.
Narcissus in Chains - that one was just.. ugh.

haven't found one yet, the only one that I might have had some trouble with is guilty pleasures but that's only because I read Lunatic Cafe first so going from book 4 to book 1 kind of hurt my brain.

Wow! I am surprised anyone said Obsidian Butterfly. It was a very fast paced read for me because of all the action and all the EDWARD! Yum.

i skipped Obsidian Butterfly because i couldnt find it. i only started the series 7 months ago and when it came time to read it i couldnt get my hands on it so i skipped to Narcissus in Chains. Im ashamed to say that i continue to skip it eah time i read the series. i dont know why. but i have promised Sam (the friend who got me hooked) that i will read it this time around. the only other book i havnt read yet is The Harlequin because i wanted to reread the series again first. its amazing the things that you forget in books until you read them again.

As much as some of the more recent stories bug me I eventually make it through all the books. I just need to know what happens next.
I hope you decide to try Obsidian Butterfly again. That's one of my favorites and to me proves Anita could make it on her own without all the attention and drama the men in her life bring. It made for better story telling.
Oddly enough (and slightly off topic) I am finding it hard to get through Mistral's Kiss in the Merry series. It's all the sex in the beginning. Normally the sex in that series doesnt bother me but all the vapid *yes I said it!* sex in the Anita books is starting to make it hard for me to enjoy my time with Merry and the boys.

I found all the books to be entertaining until after Obsidian Butterfly. Since not all the main characters were there, there wasn't all the crap that comes with them. Anita was once again the female bad-a** that we knew her to be.
After that, it's hard to get through all the boring, repetitive sex scenes in the other books.
