Compatibility- Scorpio is an extremely emotional sign, and emotional means more than just sadness. It can mean passion, pleasure, even jealousy and hatred. The friend or lover of Scorpio needs to be understanding and strong, so earth and water signs work best as they understand the emotional needs of the scorpion. Kai (our Scorpio) gets along well with Rei (our Cancer) because of his understanding personality. Kai would also do well with a Capricorn like Garland, because both are determined and serious about responsibility. It goes without saying that Kai is not at all fond of Johnny (our Aries). Johnny's attitude and overly flamboyant personality only annoy Kai, and Johnny could never understand Kai's great mental depths. Personality- Undoubtedly one of the most interesting and dynamic signs of the zodiac. Scorpio will either be a sinner or a saint, but no matter which one it chooses to be, it will pursue its course with undying zeal. This moody water sign is often associated with sensuality, regeneration, and transformation, but also with jealousy and possessiveness. Kai is the perfect representative of the typical Scorpio. He is passionate about and protective of the things he cares for most, beyblading for one. When threatened or hurt, however, he will show just how deadly the sting of a scorpion can be. Kai will not recklessly lash out when angry as Tyson (our Taurus) would, however. Instead, he seeks seclusion, taking time to plan out his revenge. This is exactly what Kai did after his loss to Johnny, and after his loss to Brooklyn. Scorpio is an extremely vengeful sign, and once hurt, they will never forget it, and will do anything to get back at whoever has caused them pain. Vindictiveness is not the only aspect of the Scorpio personality that helped Kai ultimately win against Johnny and Brooklyn. His tenacity and cunning attitude played into it as well. Scorpios are penetrating and have deep concentration. All that time Kai was seemingly sulking or sitting off by himself in the shadows doing absolutely nothing, he was actually watching and observing. Scorpios are excessively curious and interested in mysteries and secrets and things they are not meant to know about, especially younger Scorpios. This insatiable curiosity and interest in the hidden is what fueled the conflict between a young Kai and a certain black phoenix. Privacy is a vital part of the life of a Scorpio. Kai positively hates his personal affairs being meddled in, which is one reason why he is such a loner. Although it is true he has slowly but surely warmed up to his teammates, he cannot spend all of his time with them. Scorpios need an escape, a chance to be alone with their thoughts. This is not to say they are anti-social, however. Scorpios do appreciate their friends, but it may take them a while to warm up to them and actually consider them friends. Scorpios hate having to trust strangers, which is one reason why Kai was so adverse to his Bladebreakers teammates at first. Rather than have a large amount of people they know, Scorpios keep only a few very close friends and expect complete loyalty from them.
Scorpios, like their opposite sign, Taurus, can be extremely stubborn. They have an admirable tenacity, whether working toward a goal or overcoming physical or mental anguish. Scorpios do not get sick often, but when they do, it is often very serious, possibly life-threatening. Scorpios actions are represented by the mythical phoenix. Just like this magnificent bird of legend, Scorpios have the amazing ability to rise from the ashes of sickness, pain, or defeat and fly again. Despite their critical, dangerous, and sometimes sadistic nature, Scorpios make loyal companions that would do anything for their beloved friends and family members. They are extremely emotional, but these emotions-- whether sadness, anger, jealousy, hate, pleasure, or joy-- fuel them and make them the dynamic individuals they are.

Where? The only place I've seen that kind of information is one apparent source on the Absolute Anime site that states the information appeared in some Japanese comic once as an interview or something.

Take note, though, that not everything stated in a person's zodiac will be accurate. And personality aspects stated in a zodiac are not how that person should act, but how they're most likely to act. Case in point: Scorpios are said to be sensual/sexual (whatever), but I most definitely am not! Another case in point: my father is an Aries, but he acts more like a Sagittarius, while my mom is a Virgo, but because childhood circumstances (or something else) has her acting more like a Libra.

Don't forget that environment, childhood experiences, etc. will also shape a person's actions, personality, and others. And not all people who share the same zodiac sign will act the same. There will be underlying similarities, such as passion (for a hobby or whatnot) but in different areas and such.

Also, their birthdays were mentioned on the official Beyblade website (no English version is available, unfortunately), and the information came directly from Aoki-sensei.

Besides, zodiac stuff are - though we are loathe to admit it - rather outdated. The universe changes, so the sun is rarely in the sign its supposed to be in at a person's birth. There is more than one zodiacal system now - two, I believe - and those are the tropical and the sidereal. The former is the one most commonly used; the latter has the signs moved up around a month (Aries starts in April rather than March, Taurus in May rather than April, etc.).

And then there are the astronomical observations where in the sun is in a particular sign at certain times of the year, and it sort of includes the sign of Opiuchus, or the Serpent. Funny thing is, these observations are recorded yearly, and have remained consistent since 1977. In this system, Kai would be a Cancer instead.

So, you see, even though we have their birthdays, we can pinpoint their zodiac signs, but that doesn't mean we can dictate how the character acts; it's already pretty much established.

sweatdrop I've no idea. I just read and the knowledge... stays. I don't even have to read stuff sometimes, as long as I overheard it. It's my 'sponge-brain', I guess: a brain capable of soaking up any and all information.

Hehe...Like you no doubt know by now, my dad's an Aries. My brother's an Aries, too, but so far, no manifestation of any Aries-related stuff. Okay, so he's stubborn, but he's still seven years old! Kids are supposed to be stubborn...

And Panda, you're right about the 'twelve basic kinds of people' based on their birthmonth. Besides, if that were true, we'd have a pretty boring world... xd

How does us talking about the Zodiac equate to us not liking you? It's good that you're posting things like this. It gives us things to talk about and dissect to within an inch of their existences.

@Flame: I'm envious. As it stands I only remember stories. Like I can watch the first two minutes of a show or read the first paragraph of a book and tell you that I've read it before and can tell you the basic storyline.
