There was nothing fancy about this. Two men go into the pit, and possibly only one man may come out. This was the kind of fight you'd only see in the underground; no holds bars, anything goes, and there can only be one winner. Lazenca Miranda vs Mr. Crawley

Lazenca yawned, squatting down on the ground. The black drawstring pants were sure to get messed up in this arena, so he already had a pair to change into at the end of it all. He also happened to be wearing a gray sleeveless tee which read "Revolution Evolution" around the neck and had a large "[R]E" on the back, both designs in white. Felt kinda odd without the bracers and skirt on, and having the shirt made up for it-- though such thoughts told him that he needed to switch things up. That'd have to happen after this lil' tourney thing, though.
He'd stand when his opponent showed, whenever that event happened. For now, he'd squat with hands limp between his thighs and yawn.

(( Am I late? ))
Mr. Crawley showed up in (what my avatar is wearing) and his mask over his face. This time though, after entering the arena, he pulled the mask off.
Then.. he rolled up his sleeves to just above the elbows and took and gave a dull look to Lazenca. Something characteristic of an infamous associate of his, Reiko.
Perhaps if Mr. Crawley was a bit heavier he'd be the mirror image of the guy.

[no, i posted today. 24 hours is the time.]
It'd been a looong time since he's seen Reiko, so forgive Lazenca for not recognizing the look. He did recognize his opponent rather quickly, having fought him last time. Rather than yawning at that fact, he swung his head as if he were supposed to add "not this, again" and whistled a descending note.
Oh, then he stood and yawned.
Right leg leading, arms up, hands open and protecting the face... a basic street fighting stance was taken as he walked to MrC. About three feet away, he ducked hard and stepped harder, as if to show a checked dash.

Crawley's arms spread out only slightly from the his sides as he took a step back with his right foot. Then his arms came up to shoulder level.
Then, he put his arms down again and tucked his chin a little, pointing at his forehead in short instances, obviously telling Lazenca to hit him there. Or daring him.
Which was funny, because Lazenca was near the size of two Mr. Crawleys.

He certainly seemed to take the chance, throwing his right hand in Crawley's face with the palm open. However, obstructing his vision completely hid the fact that his stance lowered and the front leg planted solidly. Oh, and the left hand went out, past his head. How? He had dashed forward to close the distance, which would be a little more obvious given the fact that Crawley could all but kiss Lazenca's palm... though again the exact mechanics of it, as well as exactly where Laz was within his range, was hidden by the hand. Stealing step.
Both arms drew back as the left knee came up, the left hand serving to drive Mr.C's nose into Laz's leaping body by closing behind the neck. That should most certainly stun him from whatever he was planning to do.

Crawley smacked Lazenca's right hand down to the inside. He wasn't oblivious to Lazenca lowering his stance because he ducked hard with a step in while Crawley set up his own stance.
So with the precise timing of a choreographed kung fu fight, minus the beauty used in the movements, Crawley stumbled to the to the outside of the knee, Lazenca's right side passing by right in front of him.
Finally, Crawley decided to put his hands up shoulder level, and be waiting within 3ft of Lazenca right after he "recovered."

He turned his shoulders at the near miss, expecting one of those hasty counterattacks but not taking one. A little suprised at that, he was already getting back in his stance. And so they were exactly as they were before, except in different positions on the field.
So he did the stealing step again, this time lower and without the left hand and the knee action. So... it was basically putting his hand in Crawley's face.

[.. X ..] So... it was basically putting his hand in Crawley's face. Crawley laid his left hand on Lazenca's elbow and his right hand around the inside of the wrist and tugged firmly while stepping back to disrupt balance and provoke a reaction.

Already lower than the last time, the stance was there to ensure that he wasn't going to be just tipped over- last time, the hand had been slapped away. One could expect one of those "fool me once/twice" situations, and he was a bit more ready for that. Being pulled =! a hand slap, but balance all the same.
Leaning forward from the tug, his hand flipped around to grab Crawley's right wrist in kind. The left hand also went onto MrC's left wrist, and he pulled back. Where Crawley stepped back, Lazenca yanked back and down to his own left. With the shoulders forward, only a bit more tensing and preparation was needed to deliver a headbutt.

It was right about here that Crawley launched a swift right kick at Lazenca's groin. This was the whole setup the entire time given the low stance, deep step-in, and the hands being occupied. Supposedly for the second after this hit Lazenca wouldn't be paying attention to too much. In that second, Crawley brought his foot back. In the next one where he was alert again, at least to see anything anyway, Crawley was launching a front kick, cleverly placed to slip under the little "hoop" formed by Lazenca's arms in front of his chest to hit him on the chin. Then Crawley would back off into his stance momentarily.

So the headbutt and kick was happening at the same time? Already attacking, there was no way that Lazenca could block the kick. But in the same token, Lazenca's motion to attack wasn't stopped... he just payed for it.
That moment of stun Lazenca got, Crawley was able to share. With that, Lazenca simply backed up with narrowed eyes.

Crawley now had a bruised forehead. Okay.
He put his hands up again and got in range of Lazenca's hands.

It looked like this would be a technical battle.
Laz had his hands up in whatever loose stance he was in, getting out of the heavy right lead. The right wrist turned around, and the palm faced Crawley. "In range of Laz's hands" was pretty freaking close, so his shuffling forward and stomping on Crawley's left foot with his right should be rather easy. It was simultaneous motion, to switch things up... by now, Mr.C had to be getting wary of that hand being opened at him.
So to keep things going, the left leg came up in a knee to the chest and the left arm dropped for unconcious protection. The right arm also went back a bit for much the same reason. He pushed his hips into that knee for some extra oomph that along being stepped on, should knock his balance off. If not...
