"Hello? .... Helloooooo!" Christian was nothing if not flamboyant and loud, despite the insistant pounding in his head, and he was incredibly impatient. They'd called him out of bed to remind him of his ******** appointment. An appointment, he'd kindly love to remind them, in which he was told a name, a building, and a place. Not why the appointment was being called, not even why he was here. Just a place, a time, and a name. Nikita.
It reminded him of the one drag-queen he'd dated for a while. Nikita Von Dyke, that's what her name was. Ahh, Nikita. A mouth like a Hoover.
Anyway. Back on track.
When, finally, the wall embedded door opened and he saw a sterile hallway, Christian walked into the building. He headed down to the office where he was supposed to meet Nikita, and knocked on the door loudly.
"Hello? I'm supposed t'meet Mr. Nikita about some appointment or somethin'." He said bluntly, knocking insistantly. "Helloooo..."

((xDD You may have wanted to read that information thread a little more closely - the first room you walk into is where you would see Nikita. The door leads into a small room, which has only one other exit (which is the hallway with mailboxes in it). Take a look at that post for further description...
But yeah; I'm going to just assume that Christian walked into the room, then ^^))
"Hello?"
Nikita blinked owlishly at Christian, wondering for a moment who this was, before he remembered there was an appointment this morning. For once, the higher-ups had sent the information to the guardian - usually he took care of that.
So he wasn't sure how much this potential already knew...he normally sent basic information along with the letter, but who knew with this one.
"Ah, yes, I'm Nikita...are you - Christian?"
He tapped on his laptop as he spoke, bringing up the calender, and noting that this must be Christian; he'd been right about the time. It was either Christian, or someone who got their appointment time wrong.

((omg. XD! That's what I get for writing it up when I'm dozing. Sorry. redface Just, y'know... assume he walked into the room. ._.;; ))
Christian took a moment to properly analyze Nikita, and tilted his head owlishly, blinking. Then he seemed to realize what Nikita said, and smiled. "Yeah, I'm Christian." He smiled at him, and walked towards him, holding out a hand. "Christian Parker."
He then quirked a brow, and eyed him, this time more curiously. "Uh, mind if I ask what I'm doing here? They just sent me a paper with a time, a place, and your name. No information, really." He said sheepishly, grinning.

((It's fine ^^))
Nikita eyed Christian's hand for a moment, before awkwardly reaching out and shaking it. He wasn't used to contact with people, so shaking hands was still strange to him. Not to mention that it hadn't been done in his homeland; shaking hands was such a strange greeting, to him.
"They...didn't tell you? I'm sorry...I normally handle the letters, but the higher-ups took care of it this time..."
And apparently just wanted to make it harder on him. He just knew this was punishment for not convincing Melvin to stay on the compound, and having to go to them to argue his side.
"Well, um...alright. I work for Divinity; we're an organization studying Sylphs. Sylphs are, w-well...beings of energy. We've begun to find some who are curious about being human - so we've been helping them become human. We, ah, need people to help us raise them now, though - they apparently become children, when becoming human."
Good, his spiel all out at once...now he could breathe.
"...so, yes. We need guardians for children."

When Nikita's spiel had been finished, Christian stared. Flatout stared at the man in front of him, one eyebrow twitching just a little. "... Kids." Children, kids, same thing. Nonetheless, they wanted... "You bunch want me to be a guardian for some kid?"
Woah, what a switch. Usually people told him NOT to have kids. "I, uh... I don't know if I'm the best candidate for a kid, to be honest." He said sheepishly, rubbing his neck. Christian watched Nikita, curiously, then put his hands behind his head.
"What would I be needin' to do?" He asked finally, shoulders slumping a bit. It couldn't be too bad, and it wasn't like he was flat out agreeing...

Nikita drew back, almost unconciously, when Christian stared at him; he didn't like people staring at him. It was weird, and especially nerve-wracking when he wasn't sure if it was a good-stare or a bad-stare.
Uh. Were there good stares? ...nevermind.
"Well...you'd have to live on the compound; we have apartments set up for guardians. From there on - you would just raise the Sylph. "
He couldn't tell someone how to raise a child...he'd had enough mishaps just raising Sariael, and she had been a good child, at that.

"We'd have to move here?" Well, that was a perk, actually... Fresh start, in a way. Nonetheless, raising a kid, even a Sylph, seemed like a bit of a strain on Christian.
He tilted his head at Nikita, and bit his lip, thinking. "Is there anything more to it, though?" He asked, frowning at him. "I mean... Why do we need to live on the compound?" He asked, crossing his arms over his stomach lightly in a regular Christian fashion. "It sounds... fairly good." He admitted.

"Well...this is still experimental, s-so, we aren't completely sure if there will be any surprises along the way."
Asides from the whole sense thing, anyway; that surprise had been evident from that start. And it was difficult, but nothing too bad; they just wanted to make sure nothing really bad happened. And there were always other reasons, of course, but they weren't exactly things he could tell a guardian.
"And, um...well, there are some issues with their senses. Our results so far have indicated that the Sylphs have one very enhanced sense - but another is very limited, as a result. So, some of them can be a bit...difficult...when young."

Christian nodded a little, and snorted, watching Nikita wordlessly. "So that's probably why we have to live on the compound, right?" He asked, tilting his head. Then he seemed to make the decision on the back, and grinned, bemused.
"Hell, why not." He said after a minute, watching Nikita closely. "Could be a giggle, right? And, stayin' here won't be too bad."
He'd probably have to close the bookshop, or at least find someone to work there when he couldn't be now that he had a kid, but...
Well, hey, why not ask?
"I have a problem though. Not with stayin' here, that's just fine. I own a bookshop, you see. I can find someone else to work with me there, but... Will I be able to take the kid off the compound to the store when I do have to work?"
Because that might just be a problem, you see.

"Oh - yes, that's fine."
This fellow had just a strange way of speaking, Nikita decided; but then, a lot of Gaians seemed that way to him. They probably thought he spoke strangely - and he knew he did - but it still puzzled him.
"It's ok to take the Sylph off the compound...they just c-can't live off compound."
Except in extenuating circumstances. And as far as the higher ups were concerned, there were no extenuating circumstances - except in one case, so far. And that was on a time-limitation, at that.

Christian nodded calmly, and then smiled, watching Nikita. Then he looked around, absently, and snorted. "It should be a giggle," came the answer finally, and he looked back at Nikita, grinning.
"So, what do I do now? I've agreed, obviously." He lifted an eyebrow. "What comes next?"

"Next?"
For a moment, Nikita simply blinked at Chirstian for a moment. Then his brain kickstarted, and he moved past his deer in the headlights moment.
"N-next, well...there's not much to do until the Sylph is born. Unless you want a tour...there's some paperwork, b-but I'll just mail it to you."
Show the places he could live, anyway. Not a tour of the whole compound/

Christian nodded to Nikita, and grinned a bit. "Well then." He shrugged, and nodded to him. "Let's see this place, yeah?" He waited for Nikita to lead the way, looking around himself wordlessly. It sounded like a pretty nice deal, considering he'd only have to raise a kid.
What trouble could one kid get into anyway?
Someone, please, knock on wood for Christian.

Nikita stood, and gestured for Christian to follow him, as he exited through the door opposing the entrance. It led into a hallway, with mailboxes set in the wall.
"All the mail on the c-compound gets put here...your apartment key opens your box."
He didn't waste much time there, though, leading the way out and through the next door - to the outdoors. From the spot by the door, it seemed almost like a miniature town was enclosed within the walls of the compound; buildings here and there, scattered seemingly haphazardly. There were walkways to each building.
At least there was plenty of grass. And trees, here and there...
"This is the compound. Um, there are some p-places guardians aren't allowed to go, but those will be locked, so you should be ok."
Locked, or guarded, depending on where it was.
Quietly, Nikita began on one of those paths that wrapped around a few other buildings, before finally reaching one.

Christian listened to Nikita explain the different places, he followed along with the tour and looked around like a good boy. But the mention of locked buildings perked his curiosity. "And what are in those locked places?" He asked, looking towards Nikita. "Or is that classified?" He grinned, eyes dancing innocently.
Christian followed him to one of the buildings, looking around the compound curiously. It was weird, here, almost like a community away from the world. Thats what it was, really, but it gave off an eerie vibe to Christian. Maybe he was just being paranoid. Yeah, that was all. Paranoia was setting in. Nothing to be worried about, really.
Except, y'know, a kid. Yeah.
