Per usual, Ati was awake before his brother and wandering in search of breakfast. He leapt over rocks in search of something large enough for both of them, since they had both grown to be so big that a few fish quite simply didn't do it for them anymore. But what could he do? Except search for something bigger! That was simply all there was too it.

Not that he had a problem with hunting in the morning, after all, he went to bed fairly early. Long before his brother. He just loved to be up to see the sunrise. When it was so quiet, and all the night creatures went to bed, and none of the day creatures were up yet. It was his favorite time. Also, a time to collect on stories from nearby birds while he explored. He found that they could be extremely chatty, if given the oppertunity, and were concinved that he wasn't going to eat them.

Trent had been going sleepless nights looking for recruits. His determination didn't give him much rest, instead, it gave him what he needed to go on. The sun had started to rise causing Trent to pause a moment. He always loved to watch the sun set and rise, a true poet at heart. The chirping of the birds seemed to also halt upon the sunrise. It was almost instinct to respect such a powerful beautiful thing. Like howling at a moon when it was full, it was just came naturally. Even if not every creature payed respect to the moon or sun, Trent still did.

The sun was half way over the horizon when he noticed a shape in front of the sun. It was a shaded shape of a wolf? Or maybe a dog? A spirit of this realm? He did not know, but he went to investigate. Not making a sound and moving with the shadows Trent had managed to sneak up on the shape with out catching its attention. Something he did often to other wolves. It was instinct to him thought.

"Hello forest dweller," He said with his maw right next to the young wolves ear. His voice was smooth and soothing but still he had snuck up on the poor wolf.

Ati let out a yelp of suprise and spun around so quickly that he nearly fell over, "Don't you go scaring me like that Kyuu-oh... OH! Oh I'm so sorry, I thought you were my brother I didn't..." Ati paused a moment as he got a better look at the stranger, and then blinked, "Wow... Um... hi. You...I...um... wow."

Ati had never seen a wolf like this one before. Strong, proud... pretty colors, and blue like himself! Plus the two eyes, amazing! Ati felt as though his mind had, been quite lierally blown, the moment he turned around.

Trent was used to that kind of reaction. Some used to say he did it on purpose to get attention, but the truth was Trent had no idea that it was rude to sneak up on people. No body ever corrected this of him since it was a good trait to have as an assasin.

"Pretty isnt it," Trent's white and yellow eye went from the young blue wolf to the sun set. He felt drawn to this wolf. He hadnt seen another blue wolf since his pack. It was always soothing to find another blue wolf. "The birds even seem to be paying their respects to the mother sun." Trents soothing voice was calm and gentle.

Ati blinked and then smiled, calming down instantly when he saw that the wolf meant him no harm, "Yes, it really is. I've always loved it... sun rise, it's beautiful. No one is usually awake except for me and the birds, and you as it turns out." He turned his good-natured smile on Trent, "My name is Ati, what's yours?"

Ati never was one to be put offguard long. Once he got over the initial shock of meeting people, he usually took to them quickly enough. Trent seemed to be a peaceful sort of wolf indeed.

Trent smiled at Ati. A kind wolf at heart, he could tell that right off the bat.

"Ati...." He repeated the name drinking it in. "Ati is a nice name, your parents must have cared deeply for you to give you such a tender name." His gaze was still on the sunset. "Trent." He said and nothing more after that. Nothing more really needed to be said. Trent most often wasnt one for talking much. He would say a few things and then would listen to what the other had to say. Twas his way.

Ati watched the sunrise and smiled at Trent, "Thanks... I hope that was what they had in mind. Trent is a very nice name also. I have to admit, I've never seen anyone like you before. Where are you from? And how did you learn to be so sneaky? It's so neat!" He couldn't help but get excited.

It was fairly cool. He knew he couldn't do anything like it. He loved it when he saw things like that.

Trent stayed quiet for a moment watching as the sun slowly came all the way up before answering all the young wolves questions.

"Sneaky you say," Trent was fairly amused that Ati was so intrested in his odd ways, "Ah, I learned that after lots of practice. You just need to give it your all," He became silent again. The birds chirped like they had been before the sunrise and other various little creatures went on their way. Trent and the other blue wolf were the only ones still sitting still as the forest teamed with life.

"Your fur coat by the way," Trent said with a smirk, "Blue, its nice."

Ati smiled and wagged his tail, "You really think so? My whole family was blue, I'm pretty sure. Well... no, my mother was blue, I know that, and um... I think my father was blue too, but they were different shades. My siblings were all blue too..." Ati trailed off a little, but kept on smiling despite himself, "They're all gone now though. It's just me and my adopted brother right now. What about you? Do you come from a blue family too?"

Half of him was genuinly curious, and the other half just didn't want to talk about his own family anymore. He missed them so much... but that was only when he let them surface. He had Kyuu, so he let himself be fine with that. He still had a family.

"If you would believe," A smirk curled up on Trent's maw, "An entire pack of blue shaded wolves. Not all tribal like me." Trent had not seen another blue wolf in quite some time. It was easier to open up to this wolf because of his color. THis may have been a bad thing to base opening up on but the blue on this wolves fur felt like home almost. Even though he had never seen this wolf in his life.

Trent sighed and looked at the blue speckled wolf, "They have all passed now, " His smirk faded leaving just a shadow of the small happiness that was once there.

"Mine too," Ati smiled a little, Trent's openness making him also feel more at home. It had been ages since he had seen another blue wolf. For once, it made him miss home, his family. The thought that he would never see them again... it usually didn't bring him down this much, but knowing that Trent had suffered like he had made it easier to remember that there would always be that empty feeling there.

He liked Trent though. The other wolf seemed so calm, and he liked the sunrise, like Ati did. He never could quite find anything quite as beautiful.

"Does it talk to you?" Trent had broken the silence between the two with this question. He was silent for a good bit before following up with, "The forest and her dwellers of course." He smirked. Trent was not one to beat around bushes, he was straight forward if he really wanted an answer and to the point. You could always count on that from Trent. He wasnt one to lie. This was something he had wondered since laying eyes on the blue wolf. He seemed to have a certain aura about him. Trent wanted to confirm his pondering as true or false.

Ati blinked and looked suprised, then he smiled and nodded, "Just birds... not trees or plants or anything, but birds and I get along fairly well, and not little animals or anything... just birds. They tell me stories and... Well, I tell them to other people. Birds watch everything, you know? They don't miss anything. I know a lot just from hearing it from them." He grinned, missing his little winged friends even then. He wondered what they would bring him that day.

Maybe he could ask them about Trent. They would certainly know something. They always did.

Trent's face remained calm and unchanging at hearing this. He had heard of wolves being able to gather stories before and not from just birds. One of the packs previous story tellers gathered stories through ants. Of course not all story tellers had this gift, it was a rarity indeed. There were many other means of gathering stories. Some story tellers where well traveled and had gathered stories that way through other story tellers and some story tellers could feel the story. It always depended on the wolf.

"Thats a good gift you have. It seems the gods and goddess's smile down on you." He remained silent again. Trent was never much for talking. He rather listen if he could or have complete silence all together. What most wolves didn't know about Trent was that he was examining them, a huge chunk of the reason he was silent. Another reason was he never was one with words unless it was a poem.

"You think so?" Ati asked with a smile, his tail wagging more furiously now, "I don't know... I just think that birds know so much. When they tell me all these stories, it's so neat... I remember them all and tell them to Kyuu, he's my brother," Ati repeated, not remembering if he had mentioned his brother yet, "Anyway... They know so much... sometimes I can find other wolves with their help, and they told me all about this civil war in a pack called The Bones, which was really neat... but I've never seen war before, so it was wierd... and they also told me about an assassin pack that was killed a while back. It sounded so sad..."

Then Ati stopped and thought back to that story. An assassin pack. Of blue wolves. Trent had come from a pack of blue wolves.
