The lake is a great place for relaxing or even a nice swim, as the giant squid is rather friendly and sometimes likes to tickle you. Be aware, however, of the grindylows, who have no resistance in dragging you to the murky bottom. If you're lucky, you may catch a glimpse or two of the resident mermaids. The sunset over the lake is especially beautiful, and a perfect end to the day.

Jaden walks out towards the lake, with her pet leopard, Cloud. She pets him while they walk, and he rubs against her legs as she walks, almost making her fall over.
She goes over to a tree near the shore of the lake, and sits down. Cloud sits right by her side. He starts to purr, as Jaden scratches him gently behind the ears. She looks around, admiring the lake and the surroundings, as she slowly drifts off to sleep, feeling completley secure with Cloud by her side.

Raina hears a loud purring sound, and looks down from her book at the ground below her. She had thought her place in this tree by the lake was perfect, far enough away from the buzz of people, very serene, yet at a perfect distance for her to make it back to the castle should anyone call her name.
but now as she looked down from the branch she was sitting on, she sees a large leopard like cat and it's owner sitting beneath the same tree she had climbed to read in.

Clouds nose suddenly started to go. His eyes opened as his head was pointing straight up into the tree, he spots Raina. His purring stops, and Jaden is waken by the silence.
She looks around, wondering why Cloud has waken up. She looks up, and sees Raina also. She rolls her eyes and looks forward again, "Why on earth are you in a tree?" She says to Raina.

"it's much nicer than that dank ground that you're sitting on" Raina remarked as she turned back to the book she was reading. then again, like fungus, slytherins seem to enjoy dark, damp places she thought to herself, and burried her silent laughter behind her book.

Jaden heard her laughter. And she smirked, "Well it hurts more when you fall, sitting in a tree." Cloud sits up, against the tree. He looks up at her, and licks his chops. Jaden looks over at him and just starts laughing. She pushes him, making him stumble, "Oh stop it, Cloud!" She laughs again. Cloud lays down again, and growls friendly.

Raina asked, not bothering to hide the comical edge in her voice, nor bothering to look up from her book.((Oh, haha, Sorry, I missread that!)) Jaden raised her eyebrow in discust, "No. It just happens to be something called common sense." She lowered her voice, but loud enough so that it wasn't completely hidden, "Something you obviously have none of."
She got up, and patted Cloud to do the same. "Come on boy, let's get you something to drink.." She walked over to the edge of the lake and sat down, while Cloud lapped up some water."

Raina rolled her eyes at the slytherin girls comment. If she was in any way dim witted, she would have taken the bait and began to argue, but since she is quite the opposite, and full of common sense and logic, she wasn't about to start a fight over some silly comment made by a shroom.

Jaden slightly turned her head a few times, to see if Raina was going to respond. She laughed, "That tree's not going to hide you forever." She turned around, still sitting down. "You're going to have to come down evenually. But don't let me stand in your way." She laughed again.

"Sunset's not for a few more hours, I have plenty of time to read before I have to stop." she said as she read another page in her book. "And don't worry, I wouldn't let you stand in my way anyway" she responded, somewhat rudely.

Jaden rolls her eyes and stands up, and puts her hand on her hips, "Did a branch go up your bum on the way up there?" She whips her wand out, and angrily points up at her, "You're looking real vulnerable up there Black!"
Cloud turns to look at Raina, and starts to growl.

"Are you quite sure that's what you want to do Freebird?" She asks, eyeing the wand tip that is pointed at her. (With out a family, Raina had been raised here at hogwarts and though she hadn't appeared before the students until 3 years ago when she finally agreed to be sorted, She knew as much as most of the instructors here, and wasn't one to mess with.)Raina slowly closed the book and set it down in her lap as she looked at the slytherin girl.

((last name is Freebird, by the way ^^)) Jaden smirked, and put her wand away. She turned away from Raina, while removing her clothes, revealing her swimwear, "I don't want to fight you Black. I don't do it unless I absolutely have to. Besides.." She turns around to look at her, "you would just be a waste of perfectly good magic." She threw her clothes on the ground, and jumped right into the lake. Cloud quickly layed on top of them, while keeping an eye on Raina.

"Oh, but I beg to differ, Freebird," came a voice from the falling darkness near another nearby tree. Icarus emerged from the shadows, his arms crossed, wand in his hand, drooping to his left. "Maybe you'd do her some justice by changing her to a great dumb ape, being up in that tree like that, having that monkey of a father," he scoffed.
