Nopz.....me avoid staff of the angels...the're hard to sell...bt i like to snipe them when they infalte and no1 else know until then.... ninja ...and angelic pendants...they bring me bad luck crying

Celebrity Date. I know they're just pixels, but it's just too close to being people and I don't like to deal with them.

I don't think there is anything I truly avoid unless you count stuff I can't buy because I don't have enough gold.

Old, slow moving items and commons. I'm new to this, but I found that working with event items or recent monthly collectables that move quickly are the best things to invest in.

You should all avoid Nov 04 letters. The discrepancy between the letter and the thing it contains is way too big to be touched by any respectable exchanger.

I'll buy pretty much anything, if it's cheap enough.
In general, I'm pretty hesitant about buying stuff like:
hammi / bammi hats, bear and monkey pajamas, roro, wind security blanket, g9 laptops, bone dragon helm. Uhm, and housing items. or fishing trophies.
And, any random overly-inflated items that seem likely to crash at any moment. xd
I also try to avoid items that can't be searched, (g-bot, g-pin, bao, btk, emo bag, tin hats, etc.), unless they're incredibly cheap.
(I'm too lazy to deal with them rofl )

At one time I would have said I don't avoid anything, but now...
Tin hats - finding selling them to be harder than selling a g-bot. xd
Mythic Hair - they moved rather slowly when I sold them

Right now.. Although it's on my wishlist..
I'm avoiding Prisoner's Shackles and Prisoner's Ball and Chain
Mainly because I didn't see any good offers on the market place..
but i also haven't checked recently

The expensive crap, sure might get a good deal...unfortunatly people rarely buy them, they are in high demand for the people who cant afford them usualy....also usualy low demand from the people who can afford them.
