It had been a long time. Too long. He could hardly remember the taste of Hammit food. Gavin climbed the stairs toward Tristan's apartment. Now that he was older, climbing them wasn't that hard anymore. As if to test this, he stopped, bent his knees, and hopped up two steps. Two whole steps! That would have ended in disaster if he'd tried that a month or so ago.
Finally he reached the door. They were always blocking him. Picia didn't even know he was here. Or maybe she did. His new mommy was kinda creepy like that.
He knocked.

Holden had decided that Tristan was no fun. All he ever did was sleep, watch movies and work. This usually meant Holden was very very bored. Didn't he know he was suppose to entertain the raccoon boy? He couldn't possibly have another purpose in life except for amusing Holden.
He was currently laying on the couch throughing a ball for his puppy. At least Hamlet served as some sort of amusement, but even he did the samethings over and over again.
Then there was a knock on the door. Both Holden and Hamlet perked up. The puppy went over to the door and began to bark like he always did when there was someone on the other side. Holden didn't get up right away, Usually Tristan came when the door was knocked on, but he didn't. One could only assume he had fallen asleep at his desk again... silly silly man.
So Holden got up and went to the door. He had to strech, make him self the very tallest he could to open the door, but he was getting better at it because like all children in the compound he had a habit of sneaking out. He opened the door and looked out to see another boy standing there.
There was any number of things Holden could have noted about Gavin but the only thing he really noticed was the wings. They were pretty. He didn't say anything, but he never did, he just stood at the door and stared at the other boy.

Gavin stared. Either Tristan became as young as he was, or...or...this was--something. It had a tail. It didn't speak. It just stared at him. Either it was an alien or a monster, which were kinda the same already. It was probably hiding sharp fangs in its mouth, or waiting to attack him. Maybe it didn't speak normal language.
Now that he looked again, it looked human. Nah. The aliens were tricking him. Protect the brain!
Finally he pointed, and said, "Alien?"
What else do you say to a foreign creature? Sure, Ina had a tail, but she was all bright colored and happy. This one was all dark, and spooky-like.
Hey, kinda like Picia.

Alien, did he just get called an alien? Aliens were those black thingies in that movie with lots of teeth and drool. If anyone here was an alien it was most definately Hamlet. Speaking of which, puppy was acting funny.
Hamlet could smell Gavin and he knew the smell. The kid had been nice to him and he was not going to forget that anytime soon. So he pushed his way past Holden, even though he was still a puppy, he was strong, stronger than Holden. He went right to Gavin and started licking his face.
Holden was a little stunned. He knew Hamlet liked people but he was usually only this happy to see him, Tristan or occasionally Dmitri.
((Holden is refering to the aliens from Alien... if you didn't know))

((Love that movie xD ! ))
The alien didn't respond. Conclusion? It didn't speak English. Maybe Tristan got a new pet and decided to go for the extraterrestrial type. Made perfect sense. Dang, now he had to go home and ask for a pet alien.
However, this thought was replaced by a wet tongue on his face. "Hammit!"
Gavin giggled, petting the dog. He was perfectly able of creating the 'l' sound, but preferred the easier version. Old habits are hard to break, yes? While petting the puppy, he looked back at the alien.
"Do you eat alien food?" he asked eagerly. If Hammit food tasted good, then alien food had to be godly.

Holden frowned. Of course he didn't eat alien food, he wasn't an alien. This boy was weird and if it weren't for his wings, which still captivated a chunk of Holden's attention he would have walked away from this conversation at the first mention of aliens.
"Not alien," he spoke at last. Maybe that would clear this up.

Gavin stared, even more confused. If he wasn't an alien, then what was he? At least it seemed to speak. They were making progress.
"What are you?" he asked, stepping closer to study the boy. He noticed the tail again. "Only Ina has a tail.
Or fur for that matter. Maybe Ina was related to him in some weird twisted way.
"D'you know Ina?" he added, curiously. Maybe they were long lost siblings! Or he was an evil twin--or not, but that didn't matter. They both had tails, that was enough to back up a suspicion that maybe this one was the evil Ina.

He did know Ina, he had met her once on a walk with Tristan. And Ina did indeed have a tail. He nodded in reply to the question aknowleging he knew the wolf girl but besides that Gavin wasn't going to get much of a reply. Especially since he was having question of his own.
"Who?" he asked as he pointed at Gavin. This boy had come to his aparment and kncoked on his door and accused him of being an alien. Who exactly did he think he was?

Gavin looked behind him. Where was he pointing? Oh, wait...
"Who me?" he asked, pointing to himself. He put his hands on his hips, splaying out his wings, trying to look important. "I'm Gavin."
Duh, didn't the whole world know that by now? "What's your name?"
He needed to learn the whole commanding thing from Haki. She was better at this whole getting information thing. The boy--he now acknowledged that this might in fact be human--in front of him was hardly talking! What kind of kid doesn't talk?
Gavin added as an afterthought. "And where's the friendly man? Hammit's daddy?"
The friendly man who he still never the actual name of. That needed to be remedied...

Gavin... Gavin... he thought he might have heard it some where before when Tristan was talking about the other children around here.
He hesitated a moment before he replied, "'Olden," he said, forgot the huh sound at the beginning.
Gavin's next question confused him a little. Who was this Hammit? He furrowed his brow for a moment as he thought about it. Then he looked over to his dog who was still acting quite happy to see Gavin. Could Hammit be his Hamlet? Come to think of it, Gavin did say something along the lines of Hammit when he saw the puppy. If that were the case then Gavin was talking about Holden's own father.
Tristan was "busy" right now and wasn't suppose to be bothered. After a moment of thinking he waved Gavin in, hey if they bugged Tristan and he got mad then it was Gavin's fault, not his.

Olden? That was a strange name. But then again, so was Hammit. Either way, he was letting him inside. They were making progress. They've exchanged words, and the other was letting him inside. This was good.
After walking through the doorway, he noticed how quiet the place was. Where was Hammit's daddy?
"Where's he?" Gavin asked Olden. Maybe he would give him ice cream again. Or show him where the Hammit food was. He hadn't been here in so long, that he'd forgotten where it was.

Holden kept walking until he got to the door to the room that Tristan used as an office. He pointed at the door to show Gavin that this was where Tristan currently was. He didn't get the door though, or call Tristan, he still wasn't willing to get himself in trouble for someone who thought he was an alien.

Gavin stared at the door Holden directed him toward. Did he trust the alien-or-maybe-evil-twin-Ina thing? What if he opened the door and there was some secret lab with sharp pointy objects for dissection purposes like he saw on TV? Nevertheless, there was little else he could do. He was already inside the apartment. Might as well see what was beyond the door.
Now that he was older, he could reach the doorknob with little difficulty, though he did still have to reach above his head. Once it was open, he jumped into the room. At least if there were more aliens in there he'd surprise them. Or it could just be Hammit's daddy.
"Hi, hi!" he yelled once he was inside, though he made sure to stand in the threshold of the door. He had plenty of hallway if he needed to run somewhere.

It was probably a good thing Tristan had yet to unpack any of his more scientific gear yet,. It was all still pack away in boxes in the corner of the room (he really didn't like unpacking). It was a normal dispite being very full of papers and boxes.
Tristan was half asleep on his desk, but desk sleep was not comfortable sleep and the yelling woke him. He sat up slowly, clearly still kind of sleepy and looked to the little boy standing in the door way, confused at first knowing his son didn't make that much noise. He blinked a couple times before everything sunk in. "Gavin? He said a smile spreading to his face, "my you've grown."

"It's Hammit's daddy!" Gavin exclaimed, running up to Tristan's chair. Phew, no aliens or giant probing instruments. At the mention of his growing, he put his hands on his hips proudly, stretching out his still-too-tiny-to-fly wings.
"I'm a big boy now!" he grinned. He'd grown taller, tall enough to open doors by himself. Getting on the toilet wasn't a challenge anymore either. Plus, Picia let him stay up later now too. That was a big plus of growing up.
"Who's Olden?" he asked, pointing back toward the black haired boy still in the hallway. Hammit's daddy would know the truth.
