So I'm writing a story about vampires and really, they aren't at the top of my "know-all-about list". So, does anyone know anything really detailed about vampires? I tried a few sites and none of them really helped. I've got a few facts down, but I kind of a need more. Just type the things you know down.

-Can't be in direct sunlight unless they're halfbreeds/hybrids
-Many vampires have conditions:
Yearning: sight/smell of blood leads to urge to kill/makeout/have sex etc.
Contracting: the inability to inject venom. Which, basically, means they can't turn a human by means of biting.
-Many vampires are very active sexually.
-All vampires are uberly hott. (idk why)
-The vampire heirarchy in a clan/cult works like this:
Lord & Mate
Prince/Princess
Close family of Lord/Mate
Distant relatives
Body Guards/Assassins
Commoners
High Ranking Servants
Low Ranking Servants
And then... the Food
aka captured Humans
-Not all vampires have a transylvanian accent. They can also have accents of russion, american, and brittish decent.
-Vampires cannot drink cold blood. Therefore, one may not take a bag of blood from a fridge and chow down.
-Halfbreeds,(though this seems unlikely), have more acute senses of smell and hearing than purebreds. Though purebreds are more powerful in the physical aspects of vampire nature.

-(Sorry but) Not all vampires hold beauty. Sometimes they can be the most hideous creatures you ever laid eyes on.
-Seductive and manipulative.
-Agile, and cunning creatures, they know what's what, and what's going to happen by just looking through people's eyes, or as other people say 'souls'.
-Their aura is much stronger than humans, and glow such a bright orangy-yellow.
-Not all vampires feast upon blood, as you have the Psy-vamps, they feed off of other people's life source. When feeding off this said life source they feel a sensation, like normal blood drinking vamps do, like orgasms or fainting.
- They're patient and polite.
-They cannot form into any type of animal.
-When they 'rest' they actually die until the sun goes down, then their body comes back to life but deprived from blood or life source/psychic energy.
-All vampires live in large cities.
-Their blood can be destroyed easily by the heat of the sun.
-female vampires cannot reproduce, but males can; depending on the blood intake. They can impregnate humans.

What kind of vampires are you writing about? If you go to different stories or mediums or cultures they change, sometimes in exactly contradicting ways. For example Aldornia mentioned about their blood being destroyed by the heat of the sun but if you read Dracula he does in fact go out during the day though in a weakened state. He also takes the form of a wolf contrary to say, Angel or Buffy-verse vampires which can't. As for the beauty bit some are incredibly hot yet if you watch Nosferatu you'll find a vampire that won't ever be a supermodel. Then there's roleplaying vampires (ie. White Wolf or D&D) and anime vampires... I think about the only consistent things about them are they are very strong and powerful and like blood.

Yeah, I noticed they all say different things (has been to 50 different sites). I just took a few "facts" here and there and put them together. I'm not writing about vampires anymore though.

Vampire mythos varies depending on where you are. Let's reference Anime vampires though, shall we?
-Suck blood to keep up their strength but can go long periods without doing so
-Have abnormal strength bordering on the superhuman
-Possesses vision that rivals telescopes in the night
-Silver is not lethal but deals un-healable damage to all but the most powerful
-Stake through the heart will kill all but the most powerful
-Can summon familiars such as bats, wolves and other feral animals
-Can change into bats, mist or shadows
-Can utilize unholy magic
-When they bite virgins of the opposite sex, they are transformed into vampires
-When they bite non-virgins or members of the same sex, they are transformed into Ghouls. When the head vampire is destroyed, so are the ghouls
