Kid skipped playfully through a meadow of wild flowers and tall grass. Luckily, with her height, she had no problem seeing over top the grass. Raising one hand, Kid shielded her eyes from the radiating afternoon sun. Glancing around, all her eyes could see was more grass and flowers. Earlier that morning, she had set out to explore this meadow, which she'd just recently came across. Now afternoon rolled around with no site of a clearing of any kind.
Looking to the bright side, Kid once again began to skip around while laughing loudly; after all, if she skipped and sang in the direction she thought she had come from, she would make it out. Wouldn't she?

Sylvain meandered about in the grass, happily running through it letting the soft blade caress his body. Occasionally the top of his purple hair could be seen popping out above the grass so he'd remember where he was. Being of such small stature, his orientation with the world was at a different perspective than most, but he never let it bother him. He knew he must almost be there, to his favorite meadow spot full of flowers. Taking one last skip and hop into the air, he saw it just ahead of him. Clutching his heart pillow to his chest he giggled and skipped the rest of the way.

As the minutes dwindled by, Kid's senses pulled into overdrive in an attempt to search for an end to the meadow. However, most of the time her sight, hearing, and touch were too overwhelmed to stop anything was the loveliness of the flowers.
Suddenly though, she caught sight of something small and purple jump up between a bed of pink, large petaled flowers. When the purple disppeared as quickly as it came, Kid knew there was some other creature in the meadow besides her and the plants. In excitement, she trampled over flowers and clovers in the direction she saw the purple. Maybe whatever it was knew a way out! Or wanted to play, after all, she'd only been gone from home a few hours!

Sylvain felt quite pleased with himself at finding his favorite spot again. He hopped up to see over the grass just to be sure he was safe from larger creatures. With a bright smile, he hugged his heart pillow then placed it gently on the floor where he could sit and admire each flower. Oooo, there's a pretty one, he spied one that was pure white, but with dark pink speckles on the inner sides of the petals and bright pink striations to the tip. Standing up on his pillow, so his hair peeked out over the tops he grabbed the end of the flower and pulled it to his nose. Lovely!

Approaching the site she suppose she saw the purple at, Kid crouched down slowly; not wanting to startle whatever it was. After all, what if the thing turned out to be some horrible monster?! She'd have no escape!
Kid's fears were quickly swept away when she peaked through a patch of yellow flowers and saw a little purple and grey itoku sitting quietly on its pillow while smelling a flower. So, to sum it up, the thing was the exact opposite of a horrible monster.
Unable to hold back, Kid slipped out a little 'Awww!' by mistake. Eyes wide open, she quickly covered her mouth; hoping that maybe the itoku hadn't heard her.

Sylvain's ears flicked as he thought he heard a noise and he blinked turning his head from side to side. He let go of the flower and wondered whether he was imagining things. He stood up on his pillow and peered about above the tops of the grass and flowers. Nothing. He scratched his head and sat back down on his pillow, assuming it was the wind he heard. He spied another flower, this one with a ladybug inside and smiled as he scooped it up gently to look at it closer.

Eyes remaining wide, Kid carefully and silently moved her hands down from her mouth. That was a close one! She thought nervously. It's not that she frightened of the itoku, she just felt it wasn't polite to storm in on someone. Infact, it seemed quite rude; a quality she was taught not to have.
However, Kid did need to return home eventually. She would also need to eat and have some water! She loved nothing more than being outside, but she knew nothing of what plants to eat, which ones were deadly, things like that. There was a tree in the distance, but she hadn't been paying attention when taught which direction the moss grows in.
After much debate, Kid decided being rude just once wouldn't hurt. She would ask for help, return home, and repay the little guy somehow. Before she could change her mind again, Kid stood abruptly; exposing herself among the now short flowers and grasses.
"Umm...what's up?"

Sylvain jumped and let go of the flower so fast he was suddenly showered in petals. He instinctively grabbed up his heart pillow and held it in front of him like a shield and was ready to run if necessary. When he finally relaxed enough to look around him, he saw nothing.
He scratched his head curiously then put his pillow down and stood on top of it. He took one bounce up and over the grass to see if anyone else was about and noticed a rather tall girl with bright yellow-gold hair looking at him.
While he was gaping at the pretty girl watching him, he forgot to brace himself for the landing from his bouncing. He wound up falling on his heart pillow, hind-side first and tumbled off it onto the ground.
"Ooops!"

Kid gave a little 'ekk' before hopping around a patch of daisies to help the fallen itoku; the poor little thing was so frightened he fell straight on his behind! Once past the delicate flowers, she rushed over to the site of the puffy pillow and carefully picked it up.
Turning her attention to the itoku, she studied him. Aside from some tiny cuts and lots of grass stains, he appeared to be fine. Inching in closer, Kid bent down and slowly offered a hand to the fallen creature. "Ep! I didn't mean to scare you like that, I promise!" She begged.

Sylvain brushed himself off then accepted her hand timidly, "I... umm... didn't mean to fall." He was rather anxious and embarrassed of having her see him fall like that. He blushed visibly behind his silver fur and began looking for his pillow.
"Did you happen to see a pillow right about here?" He asked, still trying to brush a few stray pieces of grass and petals off his fur. He was so afraid of looking like a mess in front of her he didn't realize she had the pillow.

Giggling slightly, Kid displayed the comfy pillow out to the small creature. It was a habit that she laughed in akward situations; in fact, she felt awful for making the itoku so embarrassed!
Before handing it back, however, Kid carefully brushed off all the pieces of grass and tried her best to rub out the spects of dirt. Some just wouldn't let go! "Ack! Look what I made you do to your pillow! If you know of a stream around here, oh, let's say, outside the meadown we could go and I could get these right out for you!" Kid suggested. In a sneaky way, she tried to get the itoku to lead her out of the meadow. Afterall, she'd just scared him; so what reason would he have to help her if she asked? Hopefully he didn't catch on to her real plan.

Sylvain blushed as he saw that the taller girl had his pillow. He offered a meek smile and said, "No. No, it's ok. It was my fault." He had always been taught to be presentable when meeting new people, but he hadn't intended to bump into anyone on his solitary outing today. He flicked his tail getting some last bits of grass off.
He bowed respectfully to the girl, an almost comical gesture from someone so small. "My name is Sylvain. Your offer is generous, I think I might know a way if you'd like to follow me?" He smiled, happy that he at least made up by doing a proper introduction with her. He gestured openly with his arms in the direction he had come originally.

"Oh! I'm Kid. Nice to meet to Sylvain~" Kid chirped happily, excited to be leaving the endless meadow. She openly followed the little itoku through the waves of tall grass and flowers. Soon, she would be free from their hold.
Skipping along behind, Kid was still baffled at how anyone would know their way around this huge meadow. She's spent most of her days wandering around forests; but everytime there'd been some way to tell where she'd been.

Sylvain skipped along, occasionally taking big bounces up to see where they were headed as he smiled. He saw the stream just up ahead clear of the meadow and he hopped up again to be sure it was the right one.
He smiled at Kid and pointed through the brush. "Right through there." He was quite proud of himself, "I was lost in this meadow once... it was so much taller than me. But I found a nice trick on how to navigate. Well, sort of trick?"

Wandering along, Kid followed Sylvain in amazement. The little creature couldn't even see over the grass without jumping but could still find the right path! Once arriving upon the stream, Kid could see Sylvain glow with pride. People like this usually bugged Kid, acting so full of themselves. But not Sylvain, he had a right to be proud.
"A trick huh? That might help me if I ever come back! I was lucky enough to stumble on you, but I doubt I'll ever be that lucky again." Kid pushed out quickly, wanting to know the secret as soon as possible.
