Dig down, dig deep,
Below the earth, to ancient sleep
Beyond time, beyond place,
The acts of the wild, only here to face.
Below the earth, to ancient sleep
Beyond time, beyond place,
The acts of the wild, only here to face.
There is much we Gaians have learned about our dear land, and there is much more that we still can learn. Each day brings a new theory of understanding, and each new theory a new piece of information to the puzzle that is Gaia.
This new piece, I propose is a hidden one, in a place we have yet to explore; Under Gaia. This idea is sourced by two things: The staircase in the Barton Jewelers, that now is no longer visible due to the new format the stores have, and the variety of unexplained buildings and structures outside of the towns.
There could be a whole system of passages underneath Gaia no one has ever seen. Certainly there is room for it. Imagine if you will, a complex series of passages that could connect Barton to Durem, the two oldest and most established towns of Gaia that we currently are aware of, as well as onto Aekea, the raw industrial city that acts a border to that seemingly endless desert to the east.
For it is these passages that would make an excellent escape route for those who wish not to be seen. The Sniper, even our own Labtech X, both appear and disappear at will, and no one ever seems to mark their passage. There unexplained buildings and caves all over Gaia that might just be more entranceways to this underground maze.
A Theory of the Past:
Originally built by during Gaia's prohibition era, when bots were first outlawed, this underground system of tunnels was key for shipping mechanical equipment between cities, from their manufacture in Aekea, to their usage and further production in Barton and Durem. These tunnels would be key in avoiding those pesty people known as authorities. But now, with the Bot-banners busted, the tunnels could have been long forgotten, as well as most of its entrances, in the depths of the past that very few young Gaians would remember, or even care to. Save, of course, for the one in Agatha's place. A lady of long years, high esteem, but extremely little history. Would it be that much of a stretch to believe she, who has long run the jewelry store to not be aware of such a noticeable passageway? Maybe in her past, she belong to the wild groups of bot-runners that once manned the labyrinth under Gaia.
