From the Ultimania Omega (well, the translation): Quote: -Takeyuki Takeya (the monster and mechanical art designer for the film) designed Cloud's First Tsurugi sword set used in the film. He says that he doesn't know what the individual names of the swords are, nor what their specific attributes are. "First Tsurugi" is, apparently, the name for the entire set and the completed sword (as most people thought, I believe), and the swords were just called "the fusion swords" during development because they weren't given proper names. There's no official explanation as to how he got the sword/s, as far as I know... but please, correct me if I am wrong. It is kind of like the SHM's bikes and phones... they just er... acquired them...

There are two short stories that tie the game and the movie together. One being Aeris side of the story once she is impailed by Sephiroth and traverses the lifestream, were she plays a key role in the end although the player doesnt know it at the time. This is were Zack and her meet once again, and shows that the omnislash was actually Zack's signature move rather then Cloud's own invention.
Then theres a linked story between Denzil's origins and Tifa/Cloud love life started, how Edge was built, and then why Cloud moved back into the Church to live on his own. Both are a bit lengthy, but makes much more sense after reading.

Vintage Zero One of those interesting non-important things that are fun to talk about. for instance, who pups did Red's sons/daughters belong to? Two to tango you know. (Cloud's new sword pwns all) In the Japanese mobile Turks game, Before Crisis he has a mate; Dinne. Just before he is kidnapped by Reno and the Player, Nanaki and his mate were going to go through a special ceremony, making him the protector of the village and she would be locked away for several years in a spiritual retreat type thing. Nanaki, bless him, didn't want this; he could not go so many years without her and the burden of protecting the village was a lot for his young shoulders to bare. He wondered away form the village to get some time to himself. He was captured and she, consequently, did the cermeony alone. At the time of his release and return she was locked away in seclusion. Upon her release from her spiritual retreat they would be together and renew the species. Inbreeding...

As yet there is no completed English transcript of Before Crisis, but there is a fic based on all 24 episodes; http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3464455/1/Only just discovered it so I have yet to read it.
