So much time had passed since Chuakari was last in the Duma'bara coalition lands, the lands she had left so she could be with her love without the worry of what the other cheetahs thought of her and a lion being a couple. It was a concern that never left her, though after her acceptance into a pride- a lion pride- she had a little more confidence about finding someone very dear to her, Uri. She wanted him to know about her cubs, she was very proud of them- and her eldest son was named after him (as well as two others). She wanted him to come and meet them, see her family, be a part of it almost.

Kari had never really travelled alone, her entire life before meeting Hasidi having been spent in one general territory. This time was no different, and she had been easily convinced to bring one tagalong. So Kari led her second oldest to a familiar little waterhole where she had first been found by Uri, hoping it to be a good starting point in looking for him, and an easy way to avoid seeing too many other cheetahs.

Uri was doing his job of patrolling around the outskirts of the Duma'bara, as he often did to dispell the tediousness of his lonely life in his little strip of territory. He didn't exactly have to do much discouraging anyway. Though cheetahs weren't the most feared of the savannah cats, a whole bunch living in such 'close quarters' did send their enemies a message. Don't mess with the Duma'bara creatures.

So really, he was musing as he walked more than working. Thinking about animals he had known, including oddly his long forgotton family. The mother who'd dispaired, the father who'd disowned his 'freak' of a son and golden siblings. What would they make of Dimu, his last flame? And what of Kari? Her mate had been a lion too. Besides, Uri missed her even more accutely now she wasn't atleast in reach. He'd practically ignored the pink female after her cubhood and now he wished he hadn't just 'watched from afar'.

He sighed as he reached the edge of his own bit of land. He walked straight into his waterhole as always without looking about him or bothering to scent the air. Dimu was his only visitor and he knew his 'ex-girlfriend' best friend was away. He was thirsty after all that 'work' and daintily drank his fill. Uri held his tail curled elegantly and knew he looked fetching, reflected in the still waters. Charcoal and white against a mirrored sky...and no one to appreciate it. Dimu would have...

All Mhuni knew of the world was his family; his mother, father, and siblings. Sure, he understood the way most things worked, but social concepts challenged the boy. In this reason, and this alone, he pressed close to his mother's side, frightened of all that entered his separated world. And so, even on his trip outside, he pressed as close to Kari as possible, watching his own paws the entire way there.

As they reached the water hole, he'd dared to venture out for a drink of water.. no harm in quenching your thirst, right? And so, he gently lapped up the water, paying no means to the world surrounding him. Mhuni remained peacefully in this state for sometime, oblivious to the presence of the cheetah across the way. Untill he looked up, anyway. Backing to his mother slowly, Mhuni pressed closely to her side, looking up to her with widened eyes.

"M..mother? Th..there's someone here who looks like you, mother.." he mumbled gently, then looking out to the other once more. Maybe mother knew him..?

Kari was happy to have her son along with her, and she was happy to stay as close to him as he wished- she had no doubts that eventually he wouldn't need her right beside him. When they reached the waterhole, she sat down by the lone tree beside the water and took a look around her old home- though ever alert to what Mhuni might be doing. She was oblivious to Uri's approach until Mhuni came slowly back to her side, pointing out a stranger that looked like her.

"What?" She looked down to Mhuni, then when she realized what he said she started and looked towards the water anxiously- had they been found already?

"Oh my-" Kari gasped when she saw a familiar grey figure across the water, immediately looking relieved, then excited, "Uri!" She called, getting up to her feet, nudging Mhuni to follow, and jogging over to Uri.

Uri started slightly at his name - he'd been so sure he'd been alone and had been lost in his thoughts so it was a shock to be called. And called in a voice he knew and had heard mature. Kari? Here? It couldn't be!

"Kari!" Without a thought to how undignified it would seem, he bounded out of the water and fair sprinted to meet her. It was if his thinking of her had summoned her up from where she'd gone to.

"Sweetheart, dearling, is it you?" The question was really nothing but an excuse from the endearments. Her voice, her scent and her way of moving were recognised as he met her. Plus no one else Uri had known had ever been pink. Although....who was this young fellow?

Perking up when his mother urged him to follow along, Mhuni padded away from the tree to catch her side, working to keep his strides in line with hers. It was a good thing then, wasn't it? That mother was friends with people outside of Papa and his siblings? Yes, of course it was! Anything that made mother happy was good for the family!

Brightening to smile up at the stranger, Mhuni stopped alongside his mother, trying to seem as dignified and presentable as possible. If she knew him, and they were close, it would be polite to introduce himself. Mother had taught him that, after all! Stepping forward, he bowed slightly to the other, pulling up enough just to catch him in the eye.

"It is a pleasure to meet you, sir. I am her second eldest son, Mhuni!" He said, slight pride in his voice at the use of his name. If mother had liked it enough to give it to him, well, so did he!

Kari felt as if she might burst with joy, a feeling she'd felt so often now that it seemed it would never end. She had her family, and now they were here to see the only one who was missing from it. Life had certainly gotten only better since she and Hasidi had gone off. She did not hesitate to reach over and nuzzle Uri affectionately, pleased to have found him so quickly and, really, at all.

"I didn't think we'd find you this soon," she said brightly, and then beamed down at her son as he introduced himself. There were no words for her to add to what he said as he introduced himself as her son, and only looked to Uri for his reaction.

"I've never moved away, though I am starting to get less fond of the place than I was. And very glad to see you."

Uri spent a moment fussily licking a small patch of fur on her cheek to lie smooth with the rest - it was was the work of a moment and a the task of a honory 'father' to make sure his 'daughter' was prefectly groomed. Gods, how lovely Kari'd grown. And a mother....by the gods...Nevermind that Uri had no faith in them, he was just astounded. Motherhood had done even more for her in his mind that just love and eloping had. It was wonderful that she was happy.

"The pleasure is all mine, my boy, and one I never thought I'd have. They call me Uri." The smokey cheetah smiled then turned to her son, lowering his head so that they could talk as equals and so he could look over the youngster better. Nice, goodlooking lad, strong build for a cheetah..Uri was certain he'd be of good character. He wondered if Kari had had to seduce a random cheetah male to get her offspring - completely missing the tofted tail.

"I looked after your mother when she was smaller than you are now. Come, let's talk somewhere more comfortable - " He straightened up and led them towards his home-proper.
