In the city square stands the clock tower, who's musical bells chime the hour of the day and keep citizens on time. The tower is old, and appears abandoned. No one knows how it is that the hands still mark the passage of time. Perhaps the Gods smile favorably on it's song.

Damien walks inside and admires the clockwork.
"Tick, tock, tick, tock, ah such a calming sound, and soon it will be replaced by battlecries."
He said with a grin and folded his wings back aganst himself as he grabed a giant gear pulling him upward to a diffrent walkway. After he lands ont he walkway he walks off into the shadows.

The stairs leveled out onto a wooden walk-way that spread out under the back of the clock face, the sunlight filtering in through the frosted glass casting a pale glow over the dusty planks. The planks creaked slightly under her weight as the Captain stepped forward, eyes wary as she released Hiro, letting him fight his way to his feet as she moved further in. Her gloved hand rested lightly on the pommel of her sword as she called out.

"I am Captain Falloner, and under the King's jurisdiction I demand that you show yourself, Avariel. You have much to answer for."

"The Kings jurisdiction? HA! What makes you think that I will show my self to anyone from the king."
An echoing voice said s the avriel appeared on a walkway sevral floors above them.
"Hmm wheres the bard? I thought he'd give you a chance at survival, without him you cant win. So tell me now, do you wish to continue or wait for the bard?"

Back in the darkness of the clock tower Traven was hidden amongst the clockwork, he had a old tomb in is hand and his dagger in the other and began to carve ancient runes into the equal ancient gears, he grumbled softly cursing Tarma and the pirate for leaving him in the crowd at the town square "Humph, Captain Falloner can take her jurisdiction and shove it up her..." but he was cut short by his platform gear moving and he had to clamor to keep from falling...it was a long way down

"You'll listen because otherwise I'll pluck you, stuff you, and roast you over the spit for dinner you turkey-brained arse!"

Furious now, she stepped further forward, fingers twitching on her swordhilt. There were things she would stand for if it meant the safety and betterment of the Kingdom, but this arrogant b*****d was almost too much for her. He'd threatened her King and her people. It would not be tolerated.

"You are being given one last warning: we've played your game, done as you ask. Now either come with me for questioning, on your own free will and as a free citizen, or I will arrest your feathered a** and haul it into a cell where you will spend the rest of your few remaining days before the gallows wishing you'd done as I requested. Do we have an understanding?"

He stared at her amazed. She honestly thought that she could take him herself. After a few moments he sighed, pointed his finger at her and said "No." as a single bolt of lightning shot down at her.

The pirate had begun to stir, perhaps it was the rum that he reaked of or perhaps it was the getting hit over the head and drug up all those goddamn stairs that had put him in a bad sort of mood. But he muttered a few curses under his breath as he grabbed his head which was now throbbing.
"Bloody ell"

The soldier side-stepped the bolt with all appearance of calm on the surface. Internaly, her heart was racing a thousand leagues a minute. She hadn't known he was a mage; granted, she was prepared for the possibility, but it was still a hair-raising experience to find yourself a target of magic.

Stepping forward, she drew her sword and flicked in a circle over the back of her hand and gripping it firmly. The anger had settled into the detatchment that preceded battle. Her stance remained relaxed, but the blades appearance was evidence that this would be his last chance to explain himself before violence was done.

"You cannot expect me to let you go free into my city after you have threatened the royal family. Explain yourself to my satisfaction, or leave the city. This is my last offer. You will recieve no more chances."

"Tell me what my exact words were in the note I left you." he said as he flaped his wings and several icicles formed around him. "And are you quite certain that was a threat? Or was it a warning?" Damien was smiling at this point. The predictability of worldborn. So ammusing, But i wonder, wheres the bard?

Travel fineshed his runes then scrambled up the the top of a gear then smirked "If I stay up here I can stay out of sight and I have my trump card." he thought "but I can't use my mandolin or he will find me so it looks like I can only cast normal spells...but the should do." and he pulled out a couple rings from his pocket, one with a red round stone on it and one covered in small runes "Good times..." he thought an reflected back on his sorcerer days then looked down at the Avriel "Lets have a little fun first." he said to himself and put the ring with the stone on the middle finger of his right hand and the rune ring on his left. Traven pointed a hand at the wings "bye bye." he said softly and shot a this ray of fire down at him

Upon hearing a light crackle Damien dodged to the side quickly barely getting out of the way and almost loosing his footing. "DAMN BARD!" he yelled turning to the direction the ray was shot from and launching his icicles.

"Oh s**t..."

An ice shard flew at her, and she shifted her stance to the side as she lifted the blade to slice it out of the air. The hilt of her sword hummed under her hands, but she kept her grip firm. Midnight fire seared from her eyes as she glared up at the winged elf.

"You said that if I did not collect this fardling pirate and the bard-mage, and meet you here, that the their Majesties...would..."

Suspicion crawled over her features, and she narrowed her eyes over the thoughts developing in her mind. She retained her hold on the sword, but the blade lowered slightly as she looked at him.

"Do you mean to tell me that it was supposed to be a bloody warning? A bloody prediction?"

She scowled.

"Well, slap my arse and call me Betty. It's like some kind of bloody bard's tale...damnation..."

Traven laughed as he jumped down from his gear "Don't mind if I do." Then as he lands on the avrial's platform he flipped off and landed softly behind Tarma and slapped her hard on the a** and large grin on Traven's face "Nice to meet you Capitan Betty."

She didn't yelp, didn't jump, didn't show any reaction other than the faint widening of her eyes. The scarlet tone blooming in her face might have been a flush of embarrassment or rage; either one was plausible. She whirled around, gripped the bard by the shirt front and spoke very quietly, and very deliberately.

"That. Wasn't. An. Invitation."

Surprisingly, rather than kill him, she released him gently and turned around...almost tripping over the drunken pirate's limp form. Annoyed, she kicked half-heartedly at his boots.

"Get up, you no-account slob!"

Frowning, cheeks still pinker than was usual, the Captain cleared her throat and looked up at the avariel curiously. What was his angle? she wondered. Best way to find out, she thought, was to beat it out of him. But since that went against her moral code, she settled for asking nicely.

"So what the hell is it you want, anyway?"
