Kohana walked gingerly though the dense forest; carefully avoiding the torned plants. Her afternoon walks almost never led her so deep into the inner forest. She usually mingled on the beach with other Senrei and looked for sea shells. Today, however, Kohana felt the need to calm her soul, to escape everything, if only for a while.
But there was one fault in her plan. Kohana had almost no idea where she was headed and certainly did not know how she would get back. Only when stars showed themselves in the sky did her trademark calmness began to melt into frantic fear. On a hasty decision Kohana used the last of her strength to burst forward. Her expectation of barreling into the thick growth was quickly replaced by something else.
A clearing. A sanctuary amongst the maze of trees. She would rest here.

Noah clung to the branch of a high tree one night. He crept forward and eyed a cluster of acorns at the tip of the branch. Carefully, he scooted himself up, inch by inch. He finally leapt forward, grabbing onto the acorns. Unfortunately, the branch had snapped, which sent him and the acorns hurdling towards earth.
With a loud thump, he hit the ground. Noah coughed and shook the dusty sand off his bright-colored feathers. He searched for the acorns, which were somewhere hidden in the pile of dry leaves. After only finding two, he gave up and popped the ones he found into his mouth. Glumly, he trotted off onto the dirt road.
The light wind blew against his feathers and the silver moon gleamed against his brilliant orange eyes. It was a perfect evening, just like any evening in the forest. As he walked, his stopped to notice another Senrei. She looked absulotely stunning. Noah smiled slyly as he walked up to her.
“Watcha doing out here, gorgeous?” he raised a brow.

Weak from exhaustion, Kohana hadn't heard anyone sneak up on her. Ears use to only the sound of passing bugs, Kohana jumped with a start at the sound of the male Senrei's voice. In a moment of confusion, all she did was sit in the akward pose she had landed in and twitch.
Regaining her posture, Kohana took in what the other Senrei had just said. 'Gorgeous?' She smiled sweetly like any girl would who had just received a complement until the memory that she was lost and tired with night approaching. Fear swiped away with the presense of another, she answered calmly, "Oh, you know, getting lost and all that jazz." She deemed that clever enough of a response.
Kohana suprised herself though. She hadn't asked if he knew the way back to the beach. Why was that?
Glancing around slowly, Kohana's eyes fell upon the wonders of the little clearing. A crystal clear pond lay in the center, complete with colorful little fish dancing between rocks. The water reflected the appearing moon and its yellow stars. Flowers with petals around her size and colors twice as nice swang up from all directions. This place is beautiful!...Kohana thought, not trying to hide the amazement playing on her face.

Goodness, she's even cuter when she smiles! he thought as he chuckled.
"Poor little you," he said symphatically. He coughed and added, "Of course, a pretty little girl like you shouldn't be wandering around at night. You might get dirt on your lovely feathers."
Being the flirt that his is, he put his paw on Kohana's and shot her an adoring lopsided grin. "So you might wanna spend the night in my cozy little tree. It's not too far from here." he winked and brushed his feathers backed. "We'll have lots of fun. It'll just be you, me, and all the stars in the sky."
The Senrei fell silent. Noah had seen some attractive females around, but he had never had a "spark" between any of them. Kohana was different. He admired her vibrant colors and her shimmering blue eyes. Something about her made her stand out from all the girls Noah had flirted with.

Kohana was startled by how fast the conversation turned. Most of her time was spent crafting seashell necklaces along the beach with her girl friends so she'd never really spoken to a male in a while. Not to mention Kohana had certainly never gone anywhere with a male Senrei in well, ever.
Her common sense told her no, but Kohana fought telling it that she was stranded in a part of the forest she'd never been in, it was nightfall, and a golden knight in shining armor Senrei had come to rescue her; just like in all the stories.
All nerves and fear vanished, Kohana played, "Your very own tree? Sounds lovely. But first I'd like to know the name of my golden hero so I can thank you properly," unable to restrain the peaceful smile from creeping onto her face. The Senrei was obviously flirting with her, but she didn't mind it in the least. In fact, he can get it right back.

Oh, so I'm her "golden hero" now. he chuckled as he began to circle her. He pushed some feathers out of his face and examined Kohana. Then he replied, "You can call me anything, sweetie." He tried hard not to laugh at his own remark. "But most Senrei call me Noah." Noah added as he moved forward and began to play with Kohana's head feathers.
Noah never had a girl in his tree before (except his mother of course), maybe since most females would turn him down. The Senrei couldn't help smiling. Then he got up and began to walk along the path. He motioned with his head for Kohana to follow. "The tree is over here, miss gorgeous." he gushed.

Kohana smiled sweetly while Noah played with her soft feathers. His touch was a far cry from the sway of the wind that usually lifted them.
Following Noah through the thick underbrush along the path, Kohana told herself to stay alert. She couldn't let all this 'sweetie' and 'miss gorgeous' stuff go to her head and mess with her judgement. She only momentarily wondered if Noah had ever had many other girls to his tree before. Something told her the answer was no. After all, she was sure some of her friends would have mentioned him if they're been there.
Aside from his playful flirting, Kohana could see nothing remotely manipulating about him. Any other male flirting like this would probably have run Kohana off in a second; but something about the atmosphere about Noah was calming. And did she like to be calm!

Every now and then, Noah would turn around to get a glimpse of Kohana's face, to make sure she was still there. He kicked dust clouds into the air as he made his way through the small dirt path and swung his tail side to side.
"So, what's your name? I'm sure a pretty little princess like you should have just an equally pretty name." he smiled smugly at Kohana as he walked. Hopefully asking questions would keep the other Senrei's mind off other thoughts, such as escaping. Just wait until he could tell his friends that he dated, or "spent time with" the most beautiful girl in the forest. Oh how jelous they would be! The thought made Noah chuckle a bit.

Softly shaking her head to free her feathers of fly-away dirt, Kohana blushed. How had she forgotten to tell Noah her name after he had said his? "Whenever others talk to me they say Kohana; so that is my name," Kohana answered, glancing up to the stars that shone through the treetops. Certainly such a name would belong to no princess. Maybe that's why it suited her so well.
After around the fifth glance, Kohana caught on that Noah must be making sure she doesn't try to make a break for it. Even imagining herself doing this was far to hilarious for Kohana to think about. There must be something in the air today, because she felt more playful than usual. She decided an interesting thing to do would be to stir Noah up a bit, keep him guessing.
In one silent movement, Kohana slipped off the dirt path and into a lush patch of bushes. She couldn't see very well from where she was hiding, but she was better sure Noah had just kept on walking! She muffled a giggle and waited patiently.

"Ko...ha...na..." Noah sounded out, unaware that the Senrei had gone to hide behind some bushes. "It's a lovely name." He smiled and turned his head and looked behind his shoulder. Kohana wasn't there, but he couldn't tell. The darkness took over, and it was difficult to see. Assuming she was still there, and just hidden in the shadows, he continued on along the trail.
"We're almost there," The yellow Senrei announced happily as he shook his tail. He was probably twenty yards away from the bushes that Kohana was hiding in. "Hey, Kohana," he spoke. "What were you doing that got you lost in this mess anyways?"
A few moments passed, and it was strange that his girl remained silent. "What were you doing before you got lost?" Noah repeated. Still, no answer. He spun around, finally realizing that he was walking without a partner. His heart pounded against his chest. "Oh, Kohana!" he yelled as he began to sprint back through the path. "Oh no, oh dear, oh my, Kohana!"

((I was cracking up the whole time I read that xd xd Poor Noah!))
Sitting comfortablely in her little haven, Kohana perked an ear. She could still hear Noah's voice ringing throughout the forest, gradually getting quieter. Kohana was curious to see how the senrei would react once he discovered she was missing. She could easily see any other man who was just out for a catch simply keep on walking; completely forgetting he'd even met someone. However...
Kohana's ears gave a slight twitch when she heard Noah repeat a question. Then she couldn't help but light up with delight when the pounding of rushed footsteps echoed off the trees. She obviously couldn't admit to Noah that she'd been teasing and testing him at the same time, so instead she crawled out of the bush; shaking her head. "Oh! I'm terribly sorry, the last thing I remember is walking along behind you. I must have tripped." Kohana explained, displaying the sweetest, more sincere face she could.

Noah greeted her with a warm expression. "Oh? Kohana, dearest, I was worried." he admitted as he rubbed his paw against Kohana's face. The Senrei blinked, noticing that she had just come out of a bush. That was rather awkward.
“So you tripped, and fell into a bush?” he clarified, raising a brow. He shrugged and moved forward along the path, motioning with his tail for Kohana to come along.
He turned on a corner, and found himself in front of an oak tree—his home. However, his “home” stood out from all the other trees. Most of the branches were broken off, dried leaves and acorn shells were scattered with the red dirt among the ground, and random scraps of cloth were hanging on the branches, or what was remaining of the branches. He sighed, and looked at Kohna. “Home sweet home.” He breathed. “If I knew I’d be having a guest, I would’ve cleaned up.” Noah explained as he led her inside a hollow entrance.
The inside of the tree was dark. “Feel free to treat yourself to some nuts.” Noah said as he pointed to a woven basket with only five or six cashews inside. “I’ll go try and start a fire, although I haven’t bothered to in the past few months or so. It might take awhile."
((rofl xD))

Walking into the large oak tree, Kohana glanced around. The place was a mess, no doubt about that! All the clutter made Kohana think of her own home; it too was an oak tree. But the inside contained nothing but some big leaves and grass to sleep on and a stash of nut and berries. Compared to Noah's home, hers seemed to have no character, nothing that made it stand out as hers. However, Noah's home seemed to fit him perfectly. It had a cozy, light-hearted feel. She liked that.
Making herself comfortable on a pile of semi-fresh leaves and helped herself to a cashew. "Oh, don't worry. Actually, I find your home quite charming. Somehow, I think this is the way I pictured it to look." Kohana chimed in after finishing her nut.
"If you wouldn't mind, maybe I could help you with the fire. Whenever I've had one, there's always been someone else there to make it. I've never actually done one myself; and to be honest I really don't know how!" Kohana confessed, giggling shyly.

Noah gathered up some dry grass into a pile before him that evening, in attempt to fix up a cozy fire to light up the tree. The warm breeze blew threw the tree entrance, as the moon poured some light into the hollow tree.
"You're just saying that." he responded to Kohana's remark. "Of course, whenever Ma would visit, she'd say I was living in a dump, that my house was everything but charming." The Senrei chuckled, as he began to feel around the ground for some twigs which were needed to make the fire.
He glanced at Kohana through the dark. Noah didn't have much experience either, and he forgotten how to make a fire himself. "Well, that'd be nice of you." he smiled warmly. Obviously, if it was one of his guy friends that offered help, he'd turn them down in order to remind them that he knew what he was doing. But he wanted to spend as much time with her as possible, before she would be off tomorow morning. Just the thought of spending close time with the beautiful Kohana sent a warm feeling down his spine.

Kohana giggled as Noah prepared the dried leaves for the fire and talked about his mother. "Hehe, I really mean it. Of course you're mother doesn't like it! Parents can always find something that's wrong with anything their children do." She lightly joked, while brushing a couple of brown leaves into the growing pile at the center of the tree. Then, flowing Noah's lead, Kohana glided around the tree while glancing around for useable twigs. She wanted to make herself look eager to learn how to build the fire. However, she had to confess to herself she really had no interest in fire building...
Twigs and leaves in place, Kohana joined Noah in the center of the tree where the fire would be born. Sensing his gaze, Kohana turned to face Noah across the pile and a sweet smile lifted her face. Noah's personality seemed so opposite her own, but she felt free and open around him. Had a friend simply told her about him before they'd met, Kohana would have hesitated. But together, their personalities seemed to soar in each other's company.
"Everything seemed to be in place. How do we give the flame life?"
