Pride Song:
I used to think that I could not go on
And life was nothing but an awful song
But now I know the meaning of true love
I'm leaning on the everlasting arms
If I can see it, then I can do it
If I just believe it, there's nothing to it
If I can see it, then I can be it
If I just believe it, there's nothing to it

I believe I can fly
I believe I can touch the sky
I think about it every night and day
Spread my wings and fly away
I believe I can sore
I see me runnin through that open door
I believe I can fly
I believe I can fly
I believe I can fly

See I was on the verge of breakin down
Sometimes silence can seem so loud
There are miracles in life I must achieve
But first I know it starts inside of me

I believe I can fly
I believe I can touch the sky
I think about it every night and day
Spread my wings and fly away
I believe I can sore
I see me runnin through that open door
I believe I can fly
I believe I can fly
I believe I can fly

Cause I believe in me
If I can see it, then I can be it
If I just believe it, there's nothing to it

I believe I can fly
I believe I can touch the sky
I think about it every night and day
Spread my wings and fly away
I believe I can sore
I see me runnin through that open door
I believe I can fly
I believe I can fly
I believe I can fly

If I just spread my wings
I can fly
I can fly, I can fly
If I just spread my wings
I can fly, woo
Check it out
Hmm.. fly fly fly

Izzy Makani
Nuka: *Lays on a large branch in a large tree torturing Simon*

Lady Mirage
Bram and Sirena: *both fly up till their perched above and a bit out of reach of Nuka and watch with raised eyebrows*

Izzy Makani
Simon: *Looks at Nuka with pleeding eyes* Please King Nuka let me go. *Tries to tug his tail feathers out from beneath Nuka's paw*
Nuka: *Looks at Simon, frowns and closes his eyes allowing a simple tear to fall down his cheek*

Lady Mirage
Sirena: *opens to ask a question but all that emerges is a short haunting musical-like song which seems to end nearly as quick as it began*

Bram: *ruffles feathers importantly, as he and the twins are the only ones to really understand what she says* She asks why you do not let him go...

Izzy Makani
Nuka: *Ears twitch at the musical sound and then turns his head up towards the birds above* Why I do what I do is none of your damned business. stare

Lady Mirage
Bram: Touchy touchy...*smirk*

Kiran: *passing by down below, chuckles as she looks up to spy Nuka and three birds above her, one of which she doesn't know* Bram...careful what you say, you may find yourself a meal to a random lion if you keep it up. Keris would be most displeased with you.

Izzy Makani
Nuka: *Snarls at the bird* Unless you want me to eat you and your musical friend I suggest you shut up bird. *Glares at him for a few moments before turning his glare down on Kiran and just looks at her his expression not changing at all*

Lady Mirage
Kiran: *chuckles to Bram* See? told you you'd risk being eaten. I see you are not in the mood for company. Too bad...come, my sweets. *both birds fly down to land on her back. At a signal from the lioness, Sirena starts to sing again, different song, not one enough to put anyone into a trance, but enough to give them a sense of longing as the three of them walked away*

Izzy Makani
Nuka: *Watches the three leave and sighs, laying his head down on his paws and releasing Simon from his grasp*
Simon: *Takes off and flies over to Kiran and the two birds* Miss please don't leave. My Sire is severely depressed. He needs some... cheering up as you could say...

Lady Mirage
Kiran: *smiles and quirks an eyebrow* You expect one of my nature to...cheer him up, as you say? How do you expect me to do that? 'Tis not the usual role of a demon to cheer up others...*thinks about it for a short time, and looks back at Nuka* Could prove to be fun, however...*walks back and lies down beneath Nuka, looking up at him with an oddly amused expression* Seems you have much on your mind, dark one.

Izzy Makani
Nuka: *Glances down at Kiran for a moment and then looks away and sighs* So? Who cares.

Lady Mirage
Kiran: *pouts* Aww...not going to give me a chance? Hurts my feelings. Tell me...what's on your mind? Or I'll keep bothering you till you do.

Izzy Makani
Nuka: *Closes his eyes and sighs* I'm just not happy ok.

Lady Mirage
Kiran: *purring now* And what is it you think that you need so badly to make you happy? Begs the question if lions like us can ever truly be happy...if it's even in our natures to be such...or if it'd be best to accept things as they are and move on unquestioning of our fates.

Izzy Makani
Nuka: *Sighs in irritation* Fine. I'm depressed. I can't help it. In the last few weeks I've lost everything that I built up during my life. My mate and I split up, my pride is gone, and I'm living with my adult daughter who out of the three kids I have is probably the only one who still even claims me as their father. *Huffs and lays his head back down on his paws*

Lady Mirage
Kiran: Hmm...*thinks all that over for a few moments, her tail flicking idly behind her as she pet Sirena like a cat, a habit of hers while deep in thought* Aah, I see...You are in mourning. In a matter of speaking of course. A king without a pride...and father without his family. Will feeling sorry for yourself get you these things back? Why not push the past aside and look towards the future...start a new pride...a new family...a new life as it were...

Izzy Makani
Nuka: *Lifts his head up, growls and huffs* Yeah right. You make it sound so easy well why don't you go do it. Trade me places and we'll see how well you do.

Lady Mirage
Kiran falls back over onto her side and looks up into the tree, purring, "I wasn't judging you, dearest...merely a suggestion twas all. Of course, if you'd prefer feeling sorry for yourself, then go right ahead...be my guest."

Sirena began to sing once more, this song barely audible...haunting and longing, and at the edge of it, a sense of...something more...something that was just out of reach yet easily attainable if one were to try to get it. It danced on the breeze that tickled the tree's leaves, almost as if it was on the wind itself.

Izzy Makani
Nuka growled at Kiran's words and stood. "I don't feel sorry for myself. I'm not some damned emo teen looking for attention." Nuka said with a snarl that stayed on his face as he spoke. After a moment he leapt down from the tree and turned his gaze on Sirena. She was singing and he felt the need to try to grab something that wasn't in his reach but he had to have it. He'd never felt that way before but now he did. This bird's song had someway of controling him... He just needed to figure out how...

Lady Mirage
"I was not aware that I called you that..." Kiran sat up as Nuka leapt from the tree and stared at her pet. She quietly hushed Sirena by petting her once more, as the bird retreated a bit between the lioness's forepaws watching Nuka out of wary eyes. "Sirena and her songs are harmless...She says that what you long for you can reach, if you work to find it again just as you did before. Perhaps not with the same lioness...or lion, depending on your personal preference...but the possiblity is there. Perhaps it may not be what you had, yet...perhaps it may even be better....yet...you're scared, aren't you? Fear...it holds you back...becomes a weakness..."

Getting up, she began to circle around him as Sirena flew up to watch from the branch overhead. She was close to him, yet never touched him. Tauntingly out of reach in a way. " Embrace your fear...make it become your strength...Reach for what you want and take it. You cannot change what happened, but you can accept and it make the future your own." Ducking under his chin as she circled once more, she whispered quietly in his ear. "Carpe Diem, Nuka...Sieze the day."

Izzy Makani
Nuka tensed as Kiran began to circle him. He lowered his head in a defensive stance and started to growl at her as she spoke. Something about the way she circled him just out of his reach angered him and made him wanted to lunge out at her and attack. He wasn't afraid and how dare she say he was. He was strong, he could have anything he wanted whenever he wanted it. She knew nothing of him and here she was saying things she knew nothing about.

As she circled around him and came in front of him he lunged at her throwing his whole weight into knocking her down. He'd had enough of her words. Putting his paws down on her chest and pinning her he growled at her and curled up his lip so his sharp canines were showing. "I'm not afriad."

Lady Mirage
Kiran gasped a little as he bowled her over and pinned her down as she hadn't totally been prepared for such an action. However, it quickly changed to a mischevious grin as she bared her own in return. "If it's not fear...then what is it?"

Izzy Makani
Nuka stared down at Kiran for a good long while. Her question had him stumped and he almost didn't want to admit it. He didn't know what it was. He didn't feel like his regular self and it didn't seem anything could help him.

Lady Mirage
Kiran purred, her eyes slitting in pleasure as her tail flicked idly but otherwise unmoving as she stared into his eyes. She had stumped him hard, and was enjoying her little win...the battle, however, was far from over. "Answer me this then...if you could have one thing right now, more than anything else, what would it be?"

Izzy Makani
Nuka narrowed his eyes on Kiran as she looked a bit too smug for his taste at that moment. The questions she was asking were a bit more difficult than he had thought they would be. And her next question was a difficult one to admit. It was the one thing any of his family had ever admited to before and he was being very reluctant to answer it. "I.. uh, um... well.... If I could have anything right now.... I'd want..." Nuka glanced about making sure no one was nearby before he looked at Kiran a moment then glanced away before he whispered. "Love."

Lady Mirage
Aaah...so this ran deeper than just losing material things, though granted a family and a pride were more than just material, but she was thinking more the idea of power than some lions craved. Some formed families and prides simply because of the power they got over those that were under their...'care' shall we say. She was actually rather proud...to want love was one thing she didn't think he'd of admitted to, as most of their kind wouldn't be caught dead saying the word aloud to a complete stranger, but to admit one had vulnerablities and wishes showed strength, something she admired, even if her brother saw them as weaknesses.

Her smug gaze softening to one of admiration, she asked in a slighty softer voice, "If that is what you want...then why do you not seek it? Even demons such as ourselves are not immune to that need, no matter how hard we seek to hide it." In a way, without saying it right out, she was admitting it aloud to him in return.

Izzy Makani
It was too bad that Nuka was one of those lions who needed extremely obvious hints to catch anything or he would have caught Kiran's hint. But her gaze was enough to calm him and moments later he got off of Kiran and sat down next to her. "But it's harder than you think to go after something that has done you wrong before. To think that it could all happen again leaving you back in the same situation again. It's hard to get over and go on..."

Lady Mirage
Kiran was also right in her relization earlier than he was scared, another emotion few of their kind would even admit to, however, she didn't say anything about it, not wanting to anger him once more when he'd finally calmed down. Sitting up, she looked at him steadily for a moment, carefully chosing her words. The admiration remained in her gaze, however it'd taken on a sense of sadness in her vioce. "Certianly though, you can find it again with just the right one. Do you think you could honestly be happy if you never tried to fulfill that need? Remained alone...watching your daughter form her own family...have kids of her own as you merely grew old? All because you were reluctant to try once more, risk everything for the one thing you want most? No...I think you'd spend the rest of your life wondering 'What if...' and die lonely and miserable. A fate I'd hate to see happen to one such as yourself."
PostPosted: Wed Jun 06, 2007 8:50 pm

Izzy Makani
Nuka sighed his whole body seeming to droop. Damn it she was right... He hated being wrong but he was wrong so much anymore that he was getting used to it and this was just another one of those things he was wrong about. He needed to get up, back on his feet and spread his wings. If he didn't he'd always be on the ground rubbing his nose into the dirt and grime of the past. "I don't even know where to start. My life has revolved around being the king of a pride but now there's no pride. I practically planned on being the mate of one female and she's gone back to her old home to stay. How do you get from the ground back to the sky when the wings that were holding you up have detached and vanished?"

Lady Mirage
Kiran smiled, "That's easy...go to a cliff and jump off." Waving a paw to quiet any kind of talk of suicide he might of thought she was talking about, she shook her head and quickly continued, "Figuratively, that is, since obviously you have wings, and they haven't vanished." She tugged one gently to make her point. "What I mean is that to find what you want most, you have to risk everything to get it. When you have no wings to fly, but the sky calls your name, you have two choices...either spend your time on the ground and hoping that somehow you'll find someone who can help you get there once more, forever longing, or you can just jump and hope to hell someone catches you before you land....and enjoy the flight while it lasts. You could be surprised and find someone right before your very eyes...If your willing to risk it all, you could find the one soul who can help you soar ever higher than even your dreams."

Izzy Makani
Nuka quirked a brow at Kiran at first. He took it as her giving him advice to just take his own life which was still very tempting to him. However when she continued he tensed when she grabbed his wing and pulled. When she released he relaxed and took in what she had to say. She had some interesting points in her story that was for sure. Perking his ears up he looked her over as he stood up and began to circle her. "So you say if I jump I'll either go splat or someone will catch me. But what if I took someone with me when I leapt?"

Lady Mirage
Kiran raised an eyebrow, curious about where he might be going with this as he began to circle around her. "Simple," she said, "Either they'll help you soar...or let you fall. If they truly love you in return, they'd never let you fall." Her tail flicked idly as she wondered what or even who he had in mind...if anyone.

Izzy Makani
Nuka nodded trying to look as though he was thinking about something. "So if I decided to push you off with me... What would you do?"

Lady Mirage
Kiran's mouth dropped open, not expecting that kind of question, but it was quickly replaced with a mischevious grin. "Let's just say...you'd never go splat."

Izzy Makani
Nuka's eyes widened and his ears perked up in surprise. He hadn't expected such a reply from her but it certainly made things interesting and allowed him to see the hints she had thrown much more clearly. "Well then..." He said a sly smile on his face as he sat down in front of her seeming much better than he did before. "Consider yourself pushed."

Lady Mirage
Kiran chuckled at his reaction, purring deeply, a bit of harmless teasing in her tone. "What? You were expecting something else?" His statement however, changed her grin to one of a slightly sly one as well as she stepped forward to lick his cheek lightly, then whisper in his ear, "Then consider yourself flying."

Izzy Makani
Nuka chuckled too finding Kiran's teasing rather amusing. "I didn't know what to expect really but it feels good to be flying again." He replied giving a light nudge to her cheek with his nose. It was turning out to be quite a surprise to Nuka with how Kiran had reacted to a question he had only put out on the what if factor. Now he could see that the 'what if' could turn out to be the 'will be'. Not that he minded, he could use the company for sure.

Lady Mirage
Pouting Kiran replied, "I gotta complaint though...the clouds are bit hard. I woulda thought they'd be softer..." Teasing, she taps the tree lightly with her tail. "See? I wonder if there's a complaint department we can go to...I'm glad your much happier. I like this version of you better than the growl-ly, hissy depressed one."

Izzy Makani
Nuka couldn't help but laugh out loud at Kiran's words. Her teasing was so amusing that even his sense of humor liked it. "I'm sure there is one. Right next door to the suggestions department." He replied to her tease with a slight one of his own. "You didn't like that version of me? I found it rather... emotional."

Lady Mirage
Kiran took the bait readily, taking on the look of a movie critic as she grabbed her tail and tapped her teeth with it as if deep in thought. Her voice taking on an overdramatic air, she replied, "True, I must admit, dear sir, it WAS very emotional. And moving. Quite moving, in fact, I found myself pinned to the groud by your performance." She smiled, clearly enjoying this banter back and forth, a side of her few saw.

Izzy Makani
"You did?!" He exclaimed making it into a bit of a question while seeming very surprised by her answer. "Then it seems my performances are good enough I could do them again and floor you once more. Wouldn't you say?"

Lady Mirage
"I'm very sure you could, and it would be a very moving performance, but why would you want to? You've already won the heart of a captive audience, after all, with the orginal alone. Don't tell me you wish for more than just that?" Kiran asked, mock horror in her voice and face, but the gleam in her eyes saying otherwise.

Izzy Makani
Nuka stood again and gave a very casual shrug. He was catching on here now. "Perhaps I do..." He replied as he again started to circle Kiran and this time he lightly let her tailfeather trail across her sides as he circled. "Perhaps I want the audience to be mine. I want the audience to never want to leave my presense and to want me to never want to leave as well. Not as though that last part would be very hard to have happen."

Lady Mirage
Kiran closed her eyes and visibly shivered in pleasure as she felt his touch, and it took a force of will to force her thoughts away from pouncing on him entirely right then and there...after all, there was a more lady-like approach to this. "And what if the audience wants the same? What if what they want most is the same things you crave for?" As he circled her, she lifted her tailfeather slightly so it ran ever so lightly under his belly. "Should they be denied such then? I should think not...after all, if the audience was to let you go, you'd go 'splat' and they don't want that to happen."

Izzy Makani
Nuka stopped just before Kiran's tail came out of contact with his belly and turned his head about so he could see Kiran. "No of course not. My audience would never be denied. They would be more than welcomed. They would recieve the best welcome that I have to offer. But the question is..." Nuka said and slowly turned around and came to stand face to face to Kiran and peer into her eyes. "Does the audience want the same?"

Lady Mirage
Kiran opened her eyes, and looked long and hard into Nuka's own, realizing that though she knew this was more than just a simple question, and their banter more than just a game, this question carried alot of weight behind it, and asked alot of her. Did she want the same, truly? To be loved? To risk everything on one lion, in hopes that he too would help her to soar to heights she'd never before reached? Without hesitation, and with honest intent, she replied, "Yes...I do."

Izzy Makani
Nuka's whole body relaxed a bit at her answer. He could tell even though the two of them were just learning of one another, he could tell that she spoke with honesty in her three simple words. "Then I welcome you with open paws and with my heart." He said letting a smile come upon his face. He was more than amazed at how he'd opened up to Kiran so quickly. He was risking the chance of falling again but he knew that if he didn't take the risk than he'd be grounded for all time.

Lady Mirage
Kiran rubbed her cheek against his, closing her eyes in pleasure that he'd accepted her so readily. "Nothing could make me happier...remind me to thank your birdy friend for convincing me to come back. Now comes the hard part..."

A low growl came from the brush nearby as a large lion emerged from it's depths, his markings identical to Kiran's own. His head was lowered as he neared Nuka, however, his sister's warning growl forced him to stop in his tracks, and shooting her a curious look, he kept his gaze largely on the dark male before him. "A new toy, Kiran darling?"

"Keris..." Kiran growled in warning, lowering her own head to her brother, her horn glinting with the sun. "Leave him be." She was much smaller than he was, but her order did have an effect as Keris quieted. "He is more than a mere toy, I assure you." She emphasized this by moving closer to Nuka till she was shoulder to shoulder with him, her tail entwining with his as she nuzzled his cheek softly.

Keris lifted his head, and cocked an eyebrow. "Aaah...then if he is what you want, then that is the way it shall be." Looking at Nuka, he gave one last warning growl, "However...break my sister's heart and you will find yours gone in a day's time." He turned away with a yawn to lay on a nearby sun-warmed rock as if nothing of importance had just happened.

Izzy Makani
Nuka wasn't at all threatened or even afraid when the other demonic appeared. He'd been threatened by others practically daily his entire life so it something he was certainly used to. He kept his cool very easily and even nuzzled Kiran back when she nuzzled his cheek.

When he turned about and went over to sun on a rock Nuka chuckled lightly. "Nice meeting you Keris." Nuka said with more amusement than anything in his voice. Turning his gaze to Kiran he smiled at her. "Brother I presume?" He asked with his ears perked up waiting to hear her reply/

Lady Mirage
Kiran nodded with a smile. "Exactly. Twin brother to be precise. He's alot like me..." she walked over to him and began rubbing up against him, purring in a patronizing voice. "Just a big ol lug who wouldn't hurt a fly, huh?" which earned her a playful swat as he rolled over with a snort, though it was hard to tell if he was annoyed or chuckling. Walking back to her new mate, she smiled, "More rawr than bite, though he won't admit that aloud. Anyone who has my trust, he wouldn't dream of hurting even if he pretends differently, so no worries there."

Izzy Makani
Nuka chuckled at the pair and nosed Kiran's shoulder when she walked back over to him. "You two have about as much love between you as me and my own siblings." He said as he looked over at Keris. "But it is good to know he is not a threat to me. I would hate to have to get into a fight with him to survive." Nuka turned his gaze back to Kiran and his expression seemed to brighten up as a thought came to him. "Do the two of you have any place to stay?"

Lady Mirage
"Oh? How big is your family?" Kiran asked curiously. "Keris is all the family I have known my whole life...well, had till now, of course. No...we don't have any place to stay, in fact we only arrived here a few days before.."

Izzy Makani
Nuka glanced away at the question. He rarely ever liked talking of his family, all of them outlanders. "I have my mother Zira, my father Scar, my sister Vitani and my brother Kovu. Vitani is usually the one that gives me the most grief but I don't see her much at all which in truth suits me just fine." He replied. "If you'd like, you and your brother can come live with me, my daughter and my daughters little cub friend. We found a cave that's not bad sized. Could probably fit a good sized pride in it."

Lady Mirage
Kiran positively lit up at the mention of the cave, "We would be most delighted! Well...at least I am, not sure about that big lug over there, but as we never travel far apart from each other...well, you get the idea. Where is this cave? Tell of the area around it..." She was a naturally curious type, and loved to see new areas and explore, whereas her brother liked the more social parts of life and largly cared less where they lived.

Izzy Makani
Nuka smiled at Kiran. He was as delighted as she was at that moment. "The cave is up in the mountains. Has a lovely view of the ranges around it. Pretty much the easiest way to get to it is to fly though it can still be reached by foot but the climb is dangerous. The cave faces a cliff with only a ledge to land on before it drops off for a fall of around two to three hundred feet." The cave though it was hard to reach was Nuka's most favorite place he'd ever lived. It was quiet and fairly cool coming to be down right cold at night. He'd never lived in such a place before. He'd only ever called the outlands home and they consisted of mostly desert and dead lands with little water at all. In the mountains water was abundent with the streams that ran just about everywhere.

Lady Mirage
Kiran chuckled as she stretched her wings, "It's a good thing we can do more than walk, then. It sounds like a prime location for a pride, out of reach of most lions, and those that do come, we'll see and probably hear long before they'd arrive...and also, the ones that survive the journey will have shown they have what it takes to be a member should they wish to join...and I just bet the view beats everything."

Izzy Makani
Nuka nodded allowing his wings to lightly rustle on his back before settling back down. "The safety of cubs are no worry. The only danger they would face would be falling off the ledge and as long as they are being watched they have no threats to them at all. My daughter and I haven't been there for very long but we've already decided it's going to be our permenant home."

Lady Mirage
Kiran stepped closer once more to Nuka, purring deeply as she promised, "Just as I'd never let you fall, I'd never let our kids, or the pride's fall as well...they will always have a watchful eye on them, and they will grow up strong and proud to call the cave their home."

Izzy Makani
Nuka smiled taking a step towards Kiran and closing the distance between them. "We will keep them all safe together. None of the cubs will ever come to any harm in our care."

Lady Mirage
Kiran just realized something that she'd not even thought of before...the fact that if Nuka became King, that would make her Queen. She definatly wasn't adverse to such a role, just the fact that she'd never even thought she'd end up as one as she grew up (in fact, the thought had never occured to her) made it all that much more thrilling as she thought about her new family. Nuzzling his cheek, Kiran purred, "I have a feeling we're going to have a rather large family. I hope you have no objections to such."

Izzy Makani
Nuka grinned at Kiran and shook his head. "I've never had any objections to such." He replied before glancing off in the direction of the mountains. "Speaking of families would you like to come see your new home and meet my daughter?"

Lady Mirage
Kiran spread her wings and crouched low before purring, "I can't wait...after you, my love... Coming Keris?"

Keris grudgingly got up off his rock and stretched watching Nuka and Kiran silently as he stretched his muscles for a moment.

Izzy Makani
Nuka purred back at Kiran as he spread his wings and then looked over at Keris. "Join us Keris. I'm sure you'll love the isolation the place gives." Nuka said before he launched into the air chuckling to himself. Flying up until he was just below the clouds Nuka used the updrafts to make flying easier. While flying took a bit walking would have taken longer so when the finally got into the mountain ranges Nuka was grateful for his wings. He couldn't imagine walking anywhere anymore. His wings were his life. Navigating through the mountains didn't take as long as getting to them had and when Nuka finally landed on the ledge of the cave and stepped out of the way so Kiran and Keris could land as well he was happy to lay his wings back against his back and give them a rest for a while. "Here we are!" Nuka exclaimed as he motioned to the cave and its surroundings using his tail.

Lady Mirage
Behind Nuka, Kiran followed to his right, with Keris to his left, almost like they were flying in formation as the twins kept level to Nuka's hind end and out of th way of his wings, their own beating in relative unision. While Keris was largely watching the land below, memorizing it's features as he watched the other two in her peripheral vision, Kiran couldn't help but watch Nuka in action, studying his body...it's movements...the style and grace...She couldn't get over how well they'd clicked so fast, how much like her he was in the end and she couldn't wait to love every inch of him, and in alot more ways than one.

Finally, after what felt like a long time to Keris (Kiran wasn't paying attention to how long it took as she was enjoying the time watching the view ahead of her, making him snort in slight annoyance), Nuka began the downward descent towards the cave they would call home. Looking around, he couldn't help but admire the other's choice of home. It would be hard to reach for most lions, they would see them from a long way's off, that was for sure, and the cliff before the cave entrance also provided a grand view that would allow them to see anyone coming by air. They would have to post guards once any cubs were born, and he was sure his sister wouldn't wait long for that to happen...but that wasn't yet. They'd deal with it when the time came. Settling down upon the ledge, he chuffed gently, before saying, "Nice spot."

Kiran stayed aloft for a few moments longer, circling around the entrance, diving down the cliff face before finding an updraft to bring her back up to the cave entrance just in time to hear her brother's comment as she landed by Nuka. Nuzzling him softly, she purred, "He's impressed...as am I. This spot is even better than I imagined, and one I'd be more than happy to call home with you."

Izzy Makani
While Kiran stayed aloft Nuka was searching the darkness of the cave for his daughter. He knew she was here, she had told him earlier that she would be staying home with Ren for the day. By now he would have thought she'd have greeted him. Something seemed off but Nuka ignored it for the time being as Kiran landed next to him and nuzzled him. He happily returned the nuzzle and smiled at her. "I am glad you two like it. It's going to prove to be a good place to live." Nuka said just before a loud growling echoed out of the cave to his ears.

Inside the caves in the darkness that made up it's interior a pair of glowing and narrowed eyes shown and they were directed at Keris and Kiran. "What is this?! Who are you?!" A voice echoing out from the cave demanded.

Lady Mirage
Kiran caught on quickly, remembering how Nuka had said earlier that his daughter and her friend lived with him, and realized this must be her. Glancing at Keris (he'd begun to growl and advance to protect his sister), she cut him off quickly, bowed her head in the direction of the voice, and said, "I am Kiran, and this is my brother Keris. I take it that you are Nuka's daughter....? It's a pleasure to meet you."

Keris silenced his growling and advance with his sister's glare, however he kept his gaze level and steady on the lioness within the cave, though he could see little of her at the moment. He was tense, ready to defend his sister at a moment's notice, and his tail flicked in annoyance behind him, but he remained where he was.

Izzy Makani
As Keris's growling stopped Nuka began to growl now. "Stop it Sheitani." Nuka snapped which silenced the growling from inside the cave immediately. "They're friends."

Sheitani huffed at her father and slowly she stepped out into the light so she could be seen. Besides her demonic looks there was little about her that looked like Nuka. In fact she resembled her grandmother more than she had ever resembled her parents which really made her wonder sometimes if she wasn't her grandmothers child instead of her fathers. "You've never brought 'friends' home before father. Why have you brought them?" Sheitani asked being rather rude with her words which earned her a glare from her father.

Lady Mirage
Kiran didn't let the the fact that Nuka had merely called her and Keris friends bother her, as she doubted his daughter would take too well to him calling her a mate so soon. Besides, they bothstill had alot of getting to know each other ahead of them as it was. Smiling and acting unperturbed by Sheitani's rudeness, she replied, "There's a first time for everything, now isn't there?"

Izzy Makani
Sheitani looked from Nuka to Kiran and Keris and shrugged at Kiran's words. "I guess but my father doesn't take to others so quickly. He's never mentioned you two to me so you must be very new acquaintances of his or perhaps there is something else going on here..." Sheitani narrowed her gaze on Kiran and then on Nuka. She wasn't so stupid that she did not notice how close Nuka was standing to Kiran and she certainly hadn't missed them nuzzling one another. Compared to Nuka, Sheitani was as sharp as newly sharpened claws. "Thinking of starting a new pride already father? I'm surprised at how quickly you got over mother."

Lady Mirage
Keris snorted lightly, "If you don't approve, you don't have to stay after all. I highly doubt, after all, your father is forcing you to remain here."

Kiran sighed and sat down, a little frustrated but not really surprised at the lioness's behavior. "Like I said, there is a first time for everything. He couldn't tell you about us as we have just met today...and he offered to let us stay with him here. I assure you, my brother and I mean no harm to your family, and don't be so hard on your father. Would you rather see him depressed or happy, young one? As it stands, your father and I have alot of getting to know each other before a true Pride can be declared. This location, however, does have many advantages for a pride, and I must compliment your father's choice and taste."

Izzy Makani
Sheitani glared at Keris. "I suggested this place to my father you snoody fluff ball. I choose to remain here and if you choose to remain as well you will just have to put up with me smart a**." Tani huffed at Keris. She didn't like this male at all especially with his smart mouth. She had more right to be here than he did after all. Turning her gaze on Kiran she gave her a very unamused expression. "I would rather see him back at our old home with the rest of our family but it seems I was out numbered in the situation and I chose to go with the lesser of two evils instead of with neither."

Nuka sighed and closed his eyes. He hadn't expected his daughter to behave this way at all. She was acting like a tremendously spoiled brat. "Sheitani will you at least show some of the manners I taught you. Just because the others didn't have them doesn't mean you have to pick up those bad habits." Nuka said as Sheitani gave him a defiant look and over exubarently bowed to him and Kiran. Nuka growled at her as she replied with a 'Yes your majesty.' "You're showing your a** for no reason Sheitani. Kiran and Keris are staying with us and that's final."

Sheitani snarled and rolled her eyes. "Fine but if either of them shows any rudeness what so ever to Ren there will be consequences." She growled before turning back around and walking back into the cave where she could be heard laying down as something moaned as she layed down and then silence insued.

Lady Mirage
Kiran sighed once more as Sheitani stalked back inside the cave and gave Nuka a helpless look. She honestly didn't want to have to assert authority over his daughter, but a part of her was thinking she just might have to if she was to get any respect from her whatsoever, but she feared Nuka would turn his back on her if she did. As long as Tani wasn't rude to her, she wouldn't be rude in return, however she wouldn't stand for the younger lioness to walk all over her either. Flicking the bit of red hair that'd fallen into her eyes back, she got up to nuzzle Nuka, whispering that she'd be back soon with dinner, and took off to find something to kill to take out her frustrations on.

Keris, however, chuckled as Kiran left and asked idly, "Snoody fluff ball...that is most certainly a first. Is she always like this?" He looked back into the cave's entrance with an amused smirk.

Izzy Makani
Nuka sighed as Kiran left and he layed down on the rock pretty much wanting to die right then and there. "No actually she's not. Usually she's a bit nicer especially compared to her siblings. She's been a bit touchy since me and her mother split up and her mother went back to her old home lands with her brother and sister. I'm not sure if she's just still grieving or if she's mad at me because I was the one who suggested the split and Jaharaa agreed to it as well." Nuka told Keris as he peered back into the cave as well. He knew well that Tani was still listening to them even while she layed with Ren and tried her hardest to go to sleep.

Lady Mirage
Keris settled himself down, licking at his bloodstained paws in idle contentment. "She'll get over it...suspect it wouldn't matter when you found another mate that she'd treat her the same way. Kiran, by nature, is very kind-hearted for a demon, however, she will not stand for your daughter to disrepect her and I suspect as long as she is not rude to Kiran, then there is little to worry about from either one of us."

Kiran had hated to leave, but being so upset had left her wanting to lash out at something...anything would do at the moment. Soaring high above, she searched the ground below for any sign of life and found a herd of mountain goats not to far away. Circling above them, she took her time selecting just the right one before going into a steep dive and snatching a young kid. Digging her claws into his hide, she used her speed and weight to crush him without much trouble and began to feast on him with much vigor. As it was, it'd been a long time since she'd last eaten, and the food did her as much good as tearing the flesh and smelling the blood did to her psychie.

Snarling as she took to the air once more, she circled above the herd as they tried to find shelter and selecting a rather slow and somewhat fat female, Kiran used the same move from earlier, this time reaching around with her teeth to rip out the artery in her neck before taking to the air once more with the meal in tow for the others.

By the time she came back, she was thoroughly tired, but in much better spirits than when she left. Dropping the carcass near Keris, she once more settled down next to Nuka, frowning as she realized he was troubled and lay down with her head on his mane, silently trying to comfort him, not sure what to say.

Izzy Makani
Nuka glanced over at Keris giving him a very unhappy look. "Sheitani is my daughter. I will deal with her and if I find you trying to discipline her things will not go over well." Nuka left the conversation with Keris at that and went silent. To pretty much quote Keris as long as he did not try to do anything to Sheitani there would be nothing to worry about. Tani was not his daughter and never would be and no one but him, Nuka, could discipline her. He would not take actions towards her lightly. When Kiran finally returned and settled down next to him he sighed. "I'm sorry Kiran. I didn't know she was going to be so mean. I plan to talk to her when she wakes up."

Lady Mirage
Keris said nothing, merely kept cleaning his paws until he heard the sickly thump of the carcass land nearby. Getting up, he tore a large hunk from it's hind end, chewing slowly and enjoying the taste of the meal. He would do nothing to harm Sheitani, mostly cause he knew how angry his sister would become. She may be small, but she was a very formidable fighter when pissed off.

Kiran sighed, licking Nuka's cheek lightly before putting her head on her paws. "It's truly okay, as she's going through as much of a hard time as you are...after all, she's lost her family as well, and bad feelings are bound to erupt. It's the way of our kind...we do not tend to take to change very easily, love."

Izzy Makani
Nuka closed his eyes at Kiran's words and he sighed. Sure these were bad times but they didn't have to drag them in as well. It just made everyone miserable. "I know we don't but it's still no reason to bring our crap down on you and... him." Nuka said still feeling a bit irritated at Keris but he didn't want Kiran to know what had been said between them. It was a matter he would be taking care of later anyway.

Lady Mirage
Kiran gave an understanding smile. "She probably thinks you're trying to replace your old mate, and with us meeting so quickly...it's hardly fair to blame her for her actions. It's quite a shock to have your father return out of the blue with ones such as us..." She nuzzled his cheek lightly. "I'd feel the same way if I was her." She did notice the slight pause when Nuka mentioned Keris, but said nothing. She had figured Keris wouldn't be able to resist opening his mouth when she left, and was only glad to have come back and not see them physically fighting. "Why don't you eat something? I'm sure you must be starving..."

Izzy Makani
Nuka didn't move as Kiran mentioned eating. Yeah he was hungry but he just didn't feel like eating at the moment. "I'll be alright." He replied to her. He didn't want to be rude but if he ate he'd only throw it back up in his sadness.

Lady Mirage
Kiran gave him a very concerned look, asking quietly so only he'd hear and not Keris, "Would you rather talk in private?"

Izzy Makani
Nuka glanced at Keris and then at Kiran and nodded. "Perhaps a different ledge?" Nuka requested. He'd feel a bit better being away from the commenting Keris when he spoke about what bothered him.

Lady Mirage
Kiran nodded before telling her brother they'd be back (and giving him a glare that said to do nothing while they were gone), and promptly dove off the ledge and spread her wings wide. Gliding for a moment, she looked around for a suitable place and found one across the chasm where they could speak in private, and she could be sure Keris remained where he was. Not that she didn't trust her brother, but wanted to be sure he didn't decide to take things upon himself if Sheitani awoke and started demanding her father and such. Settling down, she waiting for Nuka to join her before nuzzling his cheek in silence and waiting for him to speak.

Izzy Makani
Nuka stood and followed Kiran to the edge of the ledge where he spread his wings and dropped off the edge following just behind Kiran. When she landed he came up and landed right beside her. He returned her nuzzle before he sighed and shook his head. "I don't want to have to push my daughter out of her only home but I worry that she's going to get into it with Keris. Tani doesn't take kindly to anyone but me and her mother commanding her to do anything. She fights back against others. She has to have respect for them to listen and I worry that may get her into trouble and that it will put stress on you when she's not supposed to be yours to deal with. I'm going to talk to her but I don't know if that will do any good. She's very stubborn."

Lady Mirage
Kiran lowered her head and turned to face outward towards the chasm. "I worry about the same with Keris. He mainly listens to me not only because I'm his sister, but because he also knows I can lay him flat when I'm pissed. He's also very protective of me and those that don't show me respect, though I believe the only thing that will keep him from doing anything to your daughter is my influence....Perhaps this is my fault for rushing things so quickly...I'll have a talk to Keris."

Izzy Makani
Nuka sighed and shook his head. "It's not your fault. We've just got two touchy lions who are a little touchy about each other. You talk to Keris, I'll talk to Tani and if they don't want to behave then we'll knock them on their asses. Sound good?"
