Hey, Tansho again. Since this is going to be the official WasteLander's HQ, I'm going to use my official WasteLanders avatar.
IN this thread is going to be some concept art, drawn by me and Antonio (well, as soon as he can scan his pics) of various things in the WasteLanders.

Early Concept: "The Outlanders". This is one of the earliest pictures I drew, over a year and a half ago, of the WasteLanders. During it's early development, is went through three names, "The Outsiders", "The Outlanders", and "The Wastelands". The is a drawing of the "Outlanders", the first in carnation of the WasteLanders, crudely drawn by me. Overtime, my art skill grew and they changed. After hearning that the name "The Outlanders" had been taken already, I changed it to "The WasteLanders" after a 5 month haitus. -Tansho S.E.

Later Concept Art: The WasteLanders - Asterisk and Zak This was drawn by me after a 5 month haitus of no creation. This is the first true WasteLanders concept of the two main chracters, Asterisk and Zak, drawn once more by me. THese two have gone through signifagant changes since the first image, and still are to this day. -Tansho S.E.

When I was drawing the WasteLanders, I came up with an idea... Why not draw them as Chibis? True... I was learning how to draw chibis and it wasn't very hard at the time... But I wasn't going to turn the whole anime into an SD type experience.... So I scrapped the idea. However... One pic remianed, and I just kept it as a humurous look at such a dramatic anime. This is concept of what the cover of the WasteLanders manga will (or hopefully will) look like. I based some ideas off the Tokyopop manga design, but I'm really looking to any publisher at the moment. -Tansho S.E.

WasteLander Character Art: Asterisk (Early Version) This is a crawing of the chracter I'm working the most on, Asterisk (Tony and Antonio are handling Zak and Jemini). An ace marksman and the team leader of the WasteLanders, Asterisk always carries his BRX-78G Beam rifle and his rust brown cowboy-styled hat. Normally wearing high-tech nano ehanced armor, here he is shirtless, possibly relaxing after a long mission. -Tansho S.E.

WasteLander Character Art: Asterisk (Later Version) After months of revising storyline elements and character development, I went back to my orignal drawing of Asterisk and I wondered how to revise it. Looking at some other concept images, I re-drew him, lengthening his hair, squaring off his jaw a bit to show his age, adding his cybe armor (though at this point it's still a concept image), and changing the look of the BRX-78G Repeater Beam Rifle. I still omitted his hat, but i also omitted colloring anything in. It's still an early version, but I enjoy how this one came out. -Tansho S.E.

Weaponry Art: BRX-178G Repeating Beam Rifle This is the model BRX-178G Repeating Beam Rifle. The lever-action design is reminiscent of the old western Winchester rifles. It's mechanism is simple: after being loaded with a 10 shot, high-energy battery shell, the lever is cocked and the rifle is ready to fire once. c**k the lever again, and you can fire another round, and so on. While the technique may be a bit crude for such a high-tech design, portable beam weapons were still in their prototype phase. This design was made in limited production, then discarded for the more efficient "XBR-180A" long-range rifle. However, the few BRX type models still in existence were assigned to special forces and sniper squadrons, as the mounted scope that was standard for the design was very versatile. It included 8x, 16x, 32x, and 64x zoom, along with night vision, FLIR, and thermal imaging. One of these weapons made it into the hands of the Ka'atori bounty hunter, Asterisk, and remains his weapon of choice. -Tansho S.E.

WasteLander Character Art: Jemini (Avatar art) I realized that I hadn't really drawn much of my other WasteLanders characters. True, I chose to concentrate on Asterisk as part of my Project WasteLanders character development team, but Antonio and Tony haven't been working on it much. So, I drew this "avi art" picture of Jemini, as a sort of update from very old concept images. -Tansho S.E.

WasteLanders Weapons Art: Colt 2332 .50 Caliber AP Revolver Colt, a long surviving Pistol and Revolver maker for over 2 centuries, started to run down on business during the mid 2300's. Determined to prevent bankruptcy and loss of buisness, Colt revolutionized it's "old-style" pistols and developed more sophisticated and technologically advanced. The new colt line of pistols, called the 2330 series, was mildly successful and allowed to keep the company in buisness. In 2332, Colt made a special, limited production Revolver for die hard handgun users and Collectors. It chambered a .50 cal. armor piercing round, and can be fitted with incendiary, explosive, or standard round. Called a "magnum" by old time revolver fans, the nickname stuck despite it's classification as a military-class Revolver. It comes standard with full-metal rounds (unless refitted) and an electronic firing mechanism. Pioneered in the early 21st Century, and made popular in the 22nd by the introduction of portable "rail guns", an electronic firing mechanism allowed a bullet to be fired a nearly 2 and 1 fourth times faster than stardard gunpowder packed bullets. Also, the "slug" round can be made into pure metal called "full-metal" rounds, coined from the old copper "full-metal jacket" rounds. One of these rare, hard to find, and very powerful Revolvers landed in the hands of the Ka'atori bounty hunter Jemini, and remains his sidearm of choice. -Tansho S.E.

Sketches - Young Asterisk I got bored on a drive back from California to Nevada, so I started doing some drawings. This sketch of a young Asterisk ended up being the result. I say young, but now that I think of it... He still has his scar, meaning he has to be at least 4 years younger than in the manga. A Ka'atori ages 1 year for every 20 human years. -Tansho S.E.
