This Reverend preaches the doom gospel in a most convincing way. Slow and heavy traditional doom with dramatic vocals following in the footsteps of bands like St. Vitus, The Obsessed and of course Black Sabbath (without becoming borderline stoner!). The Reverend sure knows how to preach their gospel: ".. puritans are awake, the crusade against trendy stoner s**t goes ever on. Doom over the World!" I guess all we can add is an "Amen brother"?
My Fav. album is In The Rectory..., and I can't wait for the new one. The "Teutonic Witch" track shows some promise.

Also there are a couple side projects from this band. The OrneWhich is a Progressive Rock band from Peter Vicar. They call themselves "Dark Progressive Rock with Folk spirit". Making use of such instruments as Soprano Saxophone, Flute, Organ, and Rhodes Piano. Personally I think that Albert's vocals are better in this than in Reverend Bizarre. The PuritanThe Puritan is a very heavy, dark, and slow Traditional Doom that is pretty much just a solo project from Albert. This EP is the heaviest Traditional Doom that I've heard. There is more material coming within the next year too.

Gravechild6 I just got my "Thulsa Doom" t-shirt today heart I was too late for that one. crying I still can't get enough of So Long Suckers. I'm kinda glad they ditched the usual trad. doom lyrical themes and started singing about real experiences, it's much more easy to relate with and the instrumentation is like a perfect representative of their lyrics.

That's why it took so long for me, I just don't always have 2 hours to dedicate to one album, but once I gave it more listens it ended up growing on me and surpassing In The Rectory.

The Shield Maiden I've been hearing a lot about this band, is it worth the listen? Yes I'd say In The Rectory is the best place to start.
