How long did it take YOU to read Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince?
For me, I got it at 12:01/midnight, then went stright home. When I got home, it was 1:00 Am since we had to drop off a friend. Then I went stright to my bed and started reading. I stayed up all night reading. It took me around 12 hours, thats including all breaks. I was also trying to go as slowly as possible, and not miss a detail. Because I don't want to rush the experiance, since the first time is Euphoria. And I was almost half asleep. xp
I am now rereading, because it's so amazing. heart 4laugh

I got it around 7AM, went to a friends house and read a chapter and a half before going home. I got home around almost 9. I slept, kind of, for an hour or two (I tried to read, but I was having trouble keeping my eyes open. Not really sure when I woke up, but I then proceeded to read until it was finished. I was online by 8PM, but after it was done I spent several minutes staring at the ceiling. So, I think, it took me 8ish hours, maybe almost 9 hours.

Appx. 18 hours. That's accumulated. But I only stopped when my dumb mortality forced me to sleep.

Ah mortality. I don't seem to let that stop me in anything I do, oddly. sweatdrop
Ha. It's it sad, one of the only things to get me to do an all nighter... is a book. XD

It took me about 2 1/2 days, only because I wasn't rushing. I didn't want the book to end.

About.... 14 hours, I think. I fell asleep after, like, four hours, though, and then continued reading for the rest of the day for the next day...

Kougas_girl It took me about 2 1/2 days, only because I wasn't rushing. I didn't want the book to end. Yeah. I didn't rush myself either. I tried to slow myself down to enjoy the first experiance... since it's the most amazing.
Although I am rereading which has been nice too. ^_^

How were you evaluated?

I can read at 598 words per minute, and I finished the book in three hours flat. Then again, this book only made me emotionally involved at the very end, and that's when I ended up feeling betrayed.

Is there any way to test yourself, or is it always a school thing?

No, actually, it's really simple:
Set a timer for one minute. Then, start reading, and DON'T QUIT until the buzzer goes off. When the buzzer goes off, MARK THE WORD your eyes were on last, then go back and COUNT to where you stopped.
It works, honestly.
I did it in a college survival skills class, but it's really simple!

Ah I see, well I will have to honestly try it sometime.
But do you just read as fast as you can or at capabilty to rejester the words?
