I could try, if I wanted to speed the process of carpal tunnel. I'm already getting it, I don't need to make it worse. That and I play games cuz they're fun, not to be the best or to get better at them. That's the only purpose of hard and expert. Competition.

What is it with women and making assumptions lately? D:

The only purpose of playing at a higher difficulty is for competition?
I highly disagree. It's for testing yourself. With games like "Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of time", it's both fun and puzzling. It makes you think and it challenges you. There's nothing wrong with playing a game because it's fun, but to completely throw aside the possibility of bettering yourself ( as a gamer, and mentally), I don't know, it seems silly.
I mean, to me, that's the whole idea behind playing video games over and over. To get better. And of course, that they're fun. But would any of us play a video game if it wasn't fun? Didn't think so.
I saw the same lame excuse from the guy at Ctrl+Alt+Delete, and the argument just irritates me. You can have your mindless entertainment, I'm not forcing anything on you, but there's nothing wrong with becoming better.

Bettering myself mentally? With Guitar Hero? That's got to be one of the most inane things I've ever heard. Guitar Hero is a strumming game. It's fun and can be challenging, but I doubt the game is going to expand anyone's mind. You recognize patterns and follow the pattern with your fingers. I've been doing that since I was a toddler. I'm not gonna learn the secret to life in a video game, or make myself better of a human being from it. I learn that s**t from life, not video games. Also, you say you aren't, but you in fact are pushing your opinions on me by attacking my choice to not play on a harder level and my opinion on why I would play on a higher level. All of my friends play on higher levels to get better at the game and compete against each other. I play video games cuz they're fun. I couldn't care less if they were challenging or not. I didn't ask to hear your opinion on the matter, you took it upon yourself to stab your nose into my business.

Wow, someone snapped at the bit far too quick.
By following the notes and using your fingers, you ARE in fact improving hand eye coordination. And who the hell said anything about learning the secret to life in a video game? You completely went off the tracks and frothed at the mouth in your reply.
You post your opinion on a public forum, and yet when I respond, how dare I? Get real. If you're going to be so touchy about people disagreeing with your opinion, why go through the bother of voicing it?
You're so goddamn defensive about this, it just seems like a lousy cover up for sucking a** at video games. But oh SORRY, am I poking my nose into your delicate past?

Yeah but you pretty much insulted him when he said he didn't use the orange button. Not everyone who plays video games plays them to be the best, so people play them for FUN because thats what their original purpose was. To have fun. You can get competitive with them, and with some games you can learn things. But Guitar Hero? I highly doubt it. Yeah there is the off chance that your had eye coordination will improve, but what does that have anything to do with anything?

I mean most people don't need super awesome hand eye coordination in life. It is true most gamers have higher reflexes them the average human, whoodefreakindoo. Guitar Hero is a game pretty much for fun. And if you can't handle that then I suggest you take a look around, not every one is competitive and wants to win everything or be the best.
Noggin just likes to play the game. As do, I play on expert, but thats because I like the challenge. Noggin is one of my best friends and I know he doesn't suck at games, he's just not one to get competitive. Honestly to me it sounds like your a narcissist and you think your opinions are the only opinions in the world.
I think your the one who is getting defensive here, not Noggin.

Admittedly, Guitar Hero is NOT the best example, and a poor one to be going off of. But since it was the topic at hand, it's what I went off of. Being better doesn't mean you have to be competitive. Are you the x-box gamer who has x-box live or something?
The only times I'm ever competitive is when I'm playing SSBM. But that doesn't mean I'm not trying to do better in the games that I play otherwise. See what I'm trying to say?
If I can't handle it? What the hell is with everyone thinking I'm going to bust a cap over this? I can't play on the orange button, and I don't chastize anyone if they can't. But I hate it when people give up without even trying. Not just at video games, but anything else. If you don't try it, how do you even know that you can't do it? I mean Jesus, I'm encouraging people to try and be better, and you all are screaming at me for it? Go on! Be normal and just sub-par! If it works for you, fine, but let me state my own opinions.
Ah, did Noggin get you on here to defend him instead of talking to me himself? How charming. It's odd that you would say that I'm talking like my opinions are the only ones in the world, when you aren't allowing me to have my own. By the by, stop reading into things that aren't there. I'm not defensive, rather I find it really amusing at how heated NogginDew's first response was.

Anyway, this isn't worth arguing so hardcore.
Agree to disagree?

First off she got on here of her own volition. I doubt you would notice, but binKies hasn't been on Gaia in about a two years because she's been too busy birthing and raising a child. She wouldn't get online just because some f** went and cried to her about an argument over a video game on Go-Gaia. Get real, fersher. There's also the fact that I didn't visit Gaia for the rest of the night. She just got to you first.

Secondly, if we had been talking about Super Smash Bros Melee, this'd be a completely different ball game. (I'd kick your a** with Ness six ways from sunday. lol ) Attacking me about Guitar Hero is like making fun of a Photographer for not wanting to get better at painting. While, yes, painting is fun, the Photographer isn't passionate about it and thusly, doesn't care to get better at it. I'm not passionate about Guitar Hero, thusly I don't care. Now, SSBM on the other hand, I strive to be better at all the time, because when it comes to that game I believe anyone that actually likes and is passionate about that game is gonna be competitive. surprised

We could go on about your ability to make assumptions without skipping a beat, but we'll save that for another time.

On the topic of me being defensive, any one of my friends will tell you that yes, I'm a very defensive person. If we were in a Starbucks and you simply commented on the drink I was getting, I'd probably tell you that I visit Starbucks about once a month, if that (I tend to avoid the place, usually) and that I just know what I like and had some spare cash, so quit judging me and kindly mind your own business. That being said, I find arguing to be fun and it sort of gives me a rush. However, if you'd like to stop arguing, we can stop arguing. Arguing's fun, but it's not a passion of mine. wink

Lastly, I'd say if you wanted to stop arguing, I'd suggest not attacking someone's character right before initiating a peace treaty. It didn't work in the Treaty of Versailles, it won't work now. lol
