[Szalka x Irons]

The Shaman was off near the center of the forest her pack inhabited. She was singing and an odd m,ist, as thick as fog, wafted in through the Shamans makeshift den. She had taken the base of a tree and dug out a spot where she had piled dried leaves and grass for her to sleep. The place she had choosen to occupy seemed to fit her, earie and mysterious.

And as usualy, Szalka was singing an aluring melody, only this one was more enchanting then the others she normally sang. One could relate it to a Sirens song, luring men to their deaths, only Szalka was singing so softly you'd have to be in the close proximity of a few meters to hear.

The Shaman laid herself out on her bed and had freshly fallen leaves woven into her fur as her eyes glazed over and the mist seemed to grow thicker, yet Szalka seemed to stand out in the thick mist.

Irons walked up to her, stealthy and calm as could be, in full pack leader mode with nothing else in mind, "Szalka, is that tune a part of your shamanisms, or are you just kicking back before the cerimony?"

He was far more interested in this reason for his pack, as opposed to anything to do with his general dislike of Szalka. He merely wanted to know what she was up to, in protecting his pack from evil spirts. He had only just salavaged them, he was not willing to let the shaman destroy that.

Szalka's song faded and hwer eyes closed then shot open. She glared at Irons as he spoke. He a;lways seemed to be watching her theses days... and it was starting to get on her nerves. she slowly got to her feet and stood tall, an annoid glint in her topaz eyes. "I was trying to relax... A tense and annoid Shaman, is a Shaman who cannot concentrate..."

She jumped out of her home made bed and gave Irons a curious look. "So why have you been spying, and no no... do not try to deny it... I can sence when ever you and Skule come by, thinking you are both so stealthy that I cannot hear you... hah... Skule growls alot... he also is easy to trance..." She frowned at Irons, she had just started to relax, and the mist was starting to shroud the perimeter from enemies view, making the territory hard to find if you didn't live in it.

"I wouldn't have denied that I've had other members of the pack watching you. I do give you that much credit, and the reasoning you can no doubt understand Szalka. You have done nothing but disrespect my authority since you arrived, when I could have easily over-turned you as Shaman and killed you. Of course, I have no choice. You are the only remaining Bones Pack shaman, the spirits would never forgive us if we didn't have one. Trust is not something I especially feel, except to the pack members who have stood by me. I don't know you. So far, I don't like you. Were you in my position, I am certain that I would be watched to make sure I didn't do something... that might cause me an early death." Irons told her, merely sitting down and watching her, clearly not caring about her opinion of him, or what he was doing.

Once she had proved herself, Irons had no doubt that he would find a way to work around his general dislike of Szalka, but at the moment he was not all that fond of her. She had been nothing but an annoyance since the moment she arrived in the pack.

"I have done no such thing. I am merely open with my opinions... if you recall, since I have been here, I have been in this part of the territory, leaving you to your alpha buisness as I ready myself for the ceremony... ask your pack members... I do not speak to anyone, no one has tried to come into your territory since I arrived... infact, you could say I've done more for you, then the rest of them." She frowned and turned away from him. She felt hurt, she had helped him, at great risk of her own life, since they were young. She didn't even know him, yet she hoped he'd becoem alpha one day. She saw the great leader he could become, even when his followers now, doubted him back then. And yet, she was the suspect of everything that went wrong... and now... now he says that if she were not the last shaman, she would have been kileld by now?

"Perhaps I was better off on my own... atleast I had trust and respect, albiet from my self... perhaps you, Irons, should consider finding a new shaman... I'm sure one of those wolves you love so dearly could take over, then you could run me out, just like you want..." Her voice was even, but it was apparent she was hurt, even if she didn't show it, her voice didn't even crack and her face stayed stone hard.
PostPosted: Sun Jun 03, 2007 12:34 pm

"You're right, I could have one of them take over duties as Shaman, but they don't know the cerimonies, you do. Shamans share things with others that they train that even the Alpha's do not know. You should know that they do this for the specific reason that an Alpha cannot have them all killed. As to your relation to the pack, you're dissacociation from them is part of what bothers me. If you were to get more involved with other wolves, perhaps convince at least them that you even want a place in this pack. Right now, you have no reason not to up and leave whenever you feel like it." Irons told her, feeling slightly annoyed that she had absolutly no idea exactly how direspectful she had been in his eyes. With any other wolf, he would have killed them on the first day, had they spoken to him as she had.

"As to you, yourself, in reguards to my wolves: They have been here for me when times were rough. They followed me to war, accepted the split of the pack, killed elders and old friends because they belived in me. That has earned my trust in them, and they have never let me down," Irons seemed to mean it when he said it, offended that she refused to understand something so simple, "You weren't here. You never spoke to me when I was a pup, when my insane mother murdered my family, and during the war, you weren't here. It takes a lot more than showing up and saying that you 'Always knew I would rule' to convince me to trust you. It would be the same with anyone who tried to join my pack...however, I'm sure we would get along much better had you not simply arrived and began to make demands that a Shaman has no right to even mention to the Alpha. That made me dislike you. The fact that I know nothing about you, makes me not trust you."

((Ah, Irons, so blunt. Wanna start a new Kyu Ati rp?))

Szalka turned to face Irons, a calm expression paitned on her face as she sat down and gazed at him oddly. "The only one who would speak with me, if I were to try, would be Skule, and only because you told him to watch me... the others could care less about me... I am the lasty of a lien they hate, remember? I am the daughter of the one you went up agaisnt." Her point was valid. The stares she got on those rare days she did go to socialize with the pack, made her visits less frequent. None of them showed any intrest in speaking, or even looking at her. She felt like they all saw her as a threat, a traitor.

She snickered slightly. Didn't know her? Oh, liket hat was a good reason. "If you wished to know me, all you would have to do is talk to me... and I do suppose I was rude to you... my manners are lacking, as I was run out of the pack in teenhood, and lived on my own so long... occassions for the use of manners is rare in such situation..." Ah, this was the life she had not forseen, but she assumed it was better then the other she had seen. Atleast she had a place to live, with others, despite how cold they were to her, and how much they disliked her liniage.

"Then you will merely have to prove yourself and your good intentions at the ceremony. If you bring good spirits to us, then I am sure that they will be more inclined to be polite to their Shaman." Was Irons' generally unsympathetic remark, "As to getting to know you, I am usually busy. Socializing is of no general interest to me unless it is important to the pack. Plus, your rudeness seemed too annoying to have to deal with, since it seemed more likely to me that I would leave only disliking you more than I do already."

He didn't seem to care how she took that. He was making his point, and of that he was glad. The last thing he wanted was their Shaman bringing down evil spirits on them. He doubted that they could survive that.

Bringing down evil spirits on Irons was looking very appealing to Szalka right now... but this pack had been through enough, she would have cursed Irons if she hadn't known he was the best thing for this pack right now. "Then until you overcome such a minor obsticle, do not say you cannot trust me because you do not know me... and furthermore, I am sad to admit I expect you to be more. Physical strength and leadership skills is not what you lack, so do not assume that is what I mean... I merely have this to say... A leader should be open... but right now, you are closed... I suppose that helps you... but how badly does it, or will it hurt the pack later on Irons?"

Szalka turned away and strode around her small abode and looked for certain stores of specific herbs she had been collecting. The Ceremony was tomarrow, she should start to prepare the items. She glanced up at Irons, as if waiting for him to speak, as she knew he wouldn't leave yet, and would more then likely, yell at her and tell her she had no right, or something to make himself feel like he had defended himself well enough,

"Be more open...?" The look on Irons' face was not one that was impressed with what she had said. Any of it likely, "You want open? Fine. I'll tell you everything. My father was so weak and pathetic that he was murdered, and my mother drilled that into me and my siblings every day until she died. If we showed the slightest weakess in anything we did, she would beat us until we either couldn't move, or she killed us. She whored herself out to your father so that he wouldn't have her killed, but he did anyway. No one has ever protected me. No one has ever stood up for me. No one has ever cared about me, until now, when I have a pack that I have to look after, and our shaman is a possible traitor who could bring down evil spirits on the only ones who have ever stood by me. No, I'm not open because if everyone knew how I really am, they would hurt far more than they do not knowing how much I hate everyone that I was supposed to love. Being open is weakness. That is what killed my brothers and sisters. I survived because my mother made me strong. I am not an emotional boat, and I won't share my thoughts with the pack unless they mean something to the pack. You know nothing about me. You understand nothing about me."

He turned and moved to walk away, "Should your cerimony bring good spirits to us, I will be more inclined to trust you and your opinions, but until then, you are an outsider who has done nothing but attempt to belittle me by believing that you and your needs are greater than those of the pack you have come to represent. Until you understand that, you will only hurt us, and good will never come of you."

((Oh, he's being all wise. Good leader))

Szalka frowned as he bagan to rant about what she had seen already. That was not what she had meant. But she assumed he was too proud to udnerstand her, or try to understand her. She sighed, defeated and called out to him as he sauntered off; "And once more I prove my point... you are closed..." She had not wanted him to tell her, or the pack everything, no, she menat, he needed to be open minded, needed to be more accepting of people, not to welcome evry one, no, that was stupid, but to realize that there was more then one type of strength, and one type of weakness.

"Only time will heal this pack now..." She murmured silently to herself. She tested him constantly, and it only seemed he continued to fail. He was more like her father then even Szalka had feared him to be. 'I suppose I shall play the part he wants, maybe then I can gently coax him into the kind of open mindedness a good leader needs to keep his allies...'
PostPosted: Sun Jun 03, 2007 7:37 pm

Irons stopped and turned on her, his eyes flashing. He had also tested her more than once, and she did nothing but fail him. There was nothing about Szalka that impressed him. All she did was try to be mysterious and impressive, and hadn't accepted that she was doing less than helping the pack, which had been running smoothly until she came along. Had Irons not felt that the pack needed it's spirituality back, he would have killed the other wolf the moment she arrived there. He did not need someone like her around to make things difficult.

"Here's a thought Szalka, and keep in mind that it's a fairly ******** valid point: You have no place here anymore. If I didn't need you, I would kill you, because all you do is speak in riddles and make trouble. That is all you do, and all you have done. If you give a damn about the Bones Pack, then you'd act like it. So far all you've done is insult us, and we were doing just fine in our recovery before you came along. If the cerimony goes poorly, then I will do far more than run you off, I will kill you. Unless you start to talk straight, instead of like you're so smart that none of us could possibly understand you, and maybe I'll start to trust you back instead of treating you like you're worthless. Because right now you have done nothing for us. Not a damn thing, and if you've convinced yourself that you're helping, you're an idiot, because the pack is only unsettled by you. And don't you dare tell me that you know more about this pack, and these wolves, than I do. I have fought beside them, and they have died beside them. What have you done, you pathetic little witch? Sat back and watched us and said, in your wise up-start way, 'Irons, be more open with your pack, even though you would gladly give your life for them and they know it, which I don't know because I have made no effort to ask, or even get to know the pack that I have recently joined.' That is the exact same crap and unknowing dissacociation that made us decide that your father was worth killing. So far, you're the same dissapointment that he was."

Szalka frowned and nodded. "After the ceremony, weather it go well or not, I shall pick my apprentice, and leave you to your trust worthy pack... killing me will not be a problem, as if you wish it of me, I will never come to these lands again... and I am sorry that I am what I am. perhaps you should have killed me early on, that way, you would be living happily ever after with you pack... now, I leave you... I have my dinner to catch..." Szalka bowed humbly to her alpha, Irons and slowly turned to leave. She did not wish to be told off any longer. Szalka did feel worthless, and did not wish to stick around and be told so by a wolf she would have thought she could relate to, but it seems, she is a poor judge of character. She turned her head back with a ponderous gaze as she debated what she was about to say, but she decided it was better to warn him now, then later. "Oh, before our chat, I had a vision... a new pack is coming... a group of theives... avoid meeting their alpha... their leader is a poisonous one and often pulls victems in with out them even realizing what is going on... not that I doubt you can handle it... just... oh well... you'll figure out the rest in time." she gave a small smile and turned to leave, once more.
PostPosted: Mon Jun 04, 2007 5:05 pm

"...You're sorry that you are who you are, and you still refuse to answer the question of what you meant. In reference to being who you are, I am who I am, and it works for me, and it works for my pack. I thought that I might be more impressed by a shaman as powerful as everyone said you were supposed to be." It seemed that Irons felt the same way about her that she did about him, and he didn't care about saying it out loud. Everything he had said was true. Nothing about the shaman was what he had been lead to believe she would be. Disrespectful. Avoiding the pack she was supposed to be helping. She angered Irons.

"No one in my pack is prepared for being a shaman right now. Like I said, you're our only option. I'll kill you if you make trouble. If I see you making an effort as opposed to the 'I'm a big scary Shaman' one, then we will see how things work out. I don't trust you because you haven't earned it like the others have. You want it, earn it like everyone else has, and don't presume to tell me how to do anything until you have." Irons was interested though, in what she had mentioned, "As to this new pack... we will have to see what we will see. If you're right, you can consider it the first step in earning back the trust of a pack that has already been through enough torment."

"One last question... what is prefered, Irons... a social Shaman, hwo spends all time making nice with everyone, or a good shaman, one who spends any free time she had trying to prepare herself for the next ceremony, especially when it is as close as it is... oh never mind, your answer is obvious... you want an even blend of the two... you pick the medium because it looks the best..." She softly mummbled glancing up at the sky. Her eyes grew clouded, as if seeing what wasn't there, before her eyes became a clear topaz color again.

"Tomarrow before the ceremony, I shall go and try to aquiante myself with the pack... does that please you?" She asked in an airy tone. The funny thing was, Szalka was as good as everyone said, if not better, her only flaw was she was self absorbed and disliked being Social. She prefered the realms of her own mind, over trying to figure out everyone else, besides, the more wolves she came into contact with and met, the more frequant and startling her visions became. So many frequances and so little room, she could only see one vision at a time, and it did not help when they over lapped, but this was her problem, one Irons would not understand, nor care about... he would merely tell her that meant she was weak in one way or another and tell her off some more...
