I'm bored so I made a list of the top ten matches of most of the PPV's. Discussion, debate, opinions, flames... everything is welcome here as I want to know what you think of the list. King of the Ring is first:

King of the Ring

10. Hell in the Cell Match: The Undertaker vs. Mankind - King of the Ring 1998

Most people have this match pretty much overrated because of the two GIANT bumps by Mick. Although I find this match entertaining, it's nowhere near the best match this card had to offer, nor is it the best Hell in the Cell ever. Nobody gets the best out of Mark like Mick though, and Foley is a GOD when it comes to bumping.

9. First Blood Match: Steve Austin vs. Kane

Sue me, I liked this match better than the Hell in the Cell. It was an enjoyable little brawl even if most of the internet world was in denial about who was going to win.

8. World Title Match: Shawn Michaels vs. The British Bulldog - King of the Ring 1996

An underappreciated match as Shawn was able to pull any match about **** in 1996 if motivated enough.

7. World Title Match: Bret Hart vs. Diesel - King of the Ring 1994

I don't know why Kevin Nash seemed to always be lazy unless wrestling another Clique member but Bret Hart was the exception. They had great chemistry and, surprisingly, Bret didn't have to carry him in every match. Although this was in 1994 and Nash was still learning how to not suck. Bret was good enough to carry Nash to a decent match and one I enjoyed quite a bit.

6. Steve Austin vs. Marc Mero - King of the Ring 1996

Amazing what these two could do before injuries caught up with them. Both moved faster and easier than I have ever seen before. Austin wins this match, bleeds hardway through the mouth, then delivers THE promo that brought Austin to the forefront of the WWF after winning the whole thing. Yes, Milwaukee, Wisconsin was the birthplace of Austin 3:16.

5. Steve Austin vs. Chris Benoit vs. Chris Jericho - King of the Ring 2001

Although Jericho almost blew the ending (and personally I was pissed that he was even in it since I wanted straight Benoit-Austin after that ***** classic they had on Smackdown a few weeks prior) this was still better than I expected. Sure I hated Austin's heel turn and sure Booker almost destroyed Austin's hand while throwing him through the table, but a good match nonetheless.

4. Owen Hart vs. The 1-2-3 Kid - King of the Ring 1994

1994 was a good year for Owen Hart. He beat his brother in one of the best opening matches of all time in WrestleMania 10, won the King of the Ring for this year and then went on to face his brother Bret in a rematch from WrestleMania in another ***** match in a cage. I gave this match about ****1/4 - ****1/2 rating because, while good, it was extremely short and I shudder at what they could have done with ten to fifteen minutes.

3. Street Fight: Kurt Angle vs. Shane McMahon - King of the Ring 2001

Say what you want about the McMahons but they could certainly take a bump. Not only that, but most of the matches they were involved in were entertaining. What else can you ask for? Yes, this is the infamous match where Shane was supposed to be belly-to-bellied through a plate glass window and almost broke his neck. And the finish to this match was great. An Angle Slam off the top turnbuckle while on top of plywood? Pretty cool stuff.

2. Steve Austin vs. Shawn Michaels - King of the Ring 1997

This was a weird one as it featured the tag team champions fighting eachother at the time. This was after both the "smile" injury that "forced" Shawn out of action for four months and the great tag match he and Austin had against Owen and the Bulldog. That match, this match, and pretty much that whole angle was spot on and kudos for Michaels and Austin for saving an otherwise terrible show with this match.

and...

1. Bret Hart vs. Mr. Perfect - King of the Ring 1993

This is the rematch from their famous SummerSlam classic. Bret beat Mr. Perfect and went on to beat Bam Bam Bigelow to become the 1993 King of the Ring. Most people consider this match an even better match than their SummerSlam match and I'd be damned to try and argue with them. By the way, I should add that Curt Hennig (Perfect) is one of the best sellers to ever put on boots.

Since this was the King of the Ring, a pretty lackluster show, I didn't have much to work with. Regardless, here is my list and I hope to get some feedback on it. Next I'll do the top ten In Your House matches.
