She sat, wiggling her toes in the sand as she looked out across the sea. It was beautiful and endless and it made her feel so incredibly small. This was a place of romance and love but as of yet, it hadn't worked for Ivie. Well...not really.
She sighed and tipped her muzzle to the sky, watching the clouds transform above her. For a moment she saw a lion with a whispy white mane and she thought of Fedha.
Then she thought of Dharba.
Another sigh left her maw as she sat down roughly in the sand, curling her tail around to flop over her forepaws. She was waiting for her mother, Palesa to arrive.
It was time for the all important girl talk.

The pale lioness was out for a walk, conveniently leaving the young males of her family alone for some quality brotherly bonding. Walking along the breezed sands, her pale brown eyes gazed out across the shimmer seas, before they trailed back and caught sight of another. Pausing a moment, she studied her daughter before a smile crossed her maw.
"Ivie," She murmured in a low breath, stopping to settle next to her daughter with a soft plop, "You seem to be taken by the sea..." Her tone was that of joy as she looked out into the seemingly endless distance that stretched the waves.

She turned her head towards her mother and smiled happily. "Its beautiful. I was just wondering if there was anything at the end of it or whether it just goes on and on forever." She sighed and dropped her head to glance at her paws.
"Mother. I wish I could have stayed a cub forever. I don't like growing up. It's horrible." She leaned sideways, resting her head on her mother's shoulder. It was clear that this parent-child relationship would be unbreakable.
"All these adult feelings are...are...so confusing."

Nodding and returning the soft gesture of a smile, Palesa looked out to the sea as well, silently assessing the question and wondering herself. It seemed to go on forever, though maybe out there, another lion was looking back towards them and thinking the same exact thing.
When Ivie settled next to her, brushing her side, Palesa turned and frowned lightly in response, "We all must grow up, as is the natural way of life...but it is never a bad thing..." When Ivie finally explained why she wished to speak, all Palesa could do for a long moment is let out a soft 'ah' of understanding.
"Well..." She continued after a long silence of thinking, "...why don't you tell me what's on your mind, and we'll try and understand it together?"
