Kika needed to get away from her new life, even just for a little bit. After finding out all this new stuff, she wasn't sure what to think. She did know one thing was for sure, a good run always cleared her mind. Barking at Kal'daka she takes off in a sprint down the path heading toward Dragnid forest.
Kal'daka was close to her, but never passed her up. She often like just being this close, not only did it keep her in shape, but Kika also. Leaping slightly over a few rocks she picks up her speed as Kiak does.
Kia was close tot he forest when she turns tackling Kal'daka. Wrapping her arms carefully around her companion she wrestles with ehr to the the ground nipping lightly at her fur.
You can pull the girl from the pack, but you can never take the pack out of the girl.

There were intruders in his domain.
Kane snarled, ears pricking at the sound of other predators in his territory. Wolves from the sound of it. His blood boiled at the mere thought of it, but his mind held his instincts at bay for the moment. Survey the situation first, then decide what to do. No leaping into battle only to find himself surrounded by a pack of wolves, or the sort.
Practically flying through the trees, Kane was a blue blur through the foliage as he raced towards the source of the barking sounds. His ears twitched slightly as he closed in on his adversaries, making subtle shifts in direction. Almost there...
He was right...wolves. Or was he? Perched precariously on a limb, though with perfect balance, his eyes glowed slightly in the darkness of the covering foliage. There was one wolf at least...but the other...was a Pae'il. A femme at that. And she seemed to be...fighting the wolf!
Well, needless to say, that earned her points in Kane's book. He growled softly, watching for a bit as he decided whether or not to step in. She seemed to be handling herself well enough, afterall...

Laughing Kika rolled away from Kal'daka breathing rather hard before she leaps at Kal'daka again barreling into her side. She was determined to win for once against her companion.
Kal'daka yelps in surprise stumbling until she was on her side. Growling she didn't have a chance to get back up. Kika was on top of her with her blade near her fur. Barking at her she lift her head as high as she can. Showing she surrendered.
Kika chuckles placing the blade back into its holder. Moving away from Kal'daka she barks at her before falling back onto the grass. It was at that point she noticed the other scent. Eyes narrowing she tapped the ground to signal Kal'daka to not move.
Her eyes look around trying to find the feline, moving carefully she was on her belly watching the forest as she stood. A lo growl coming from her as well as Kal'daka.

She was...laughing? That alone was nearly enough to make Kane fall out of his tree, but soon he received another shock when the Pae'il actually beat the wolf at it's own game. He almost missed the fact that she was acting more wolf than Pae'il at this point.
Much like himself.
Bloody hell.
He answered their twin growls with one of his own, not about to be chased out of his own territory. Unfortunately, Kane had no idea how to communicate with a wolf, so he could only hope the Pae'il still spoke their native language. He had yet to hear her make any other sounds than barks or growls.
"Who are you and what are you doing in my domain?" His voice was harsh from misuse and he punctuated his statement with a snarl.

The voice was what startled her, she knew she smelled a feline, but she didn't expect it to speak english. Growling she watch the trees until she saw the glowing eyes, frowning she shakes her head then smirks "Kika, and the last time I check Dragnid forest was open to all those brave enough to venture into it." baring her teeth she snarls right back at him showing she didn't fear him at all.
Kal'daka hair was on end as she remain low watching the movement of the other pae'il. She wouldn't attack unless she had no choice. She knew Kika could handle him right now.

"Kika, eh?"
Kane's curiousity got the better of him and he bounded to a lower branch, now in plain sight. "You got guts, I'll give you that, girl," he commented with a brief...very brief...nod of approval. "But I've been hunting this patch of forest for months now. Most predators learned long ago to stay out of my territory. Some had to learn that lesson the hard way."
He eyed her companion warily. Wolves were fierce fighters, typically, and yet he'd seen Kika take this one down. Was it a real fight though, or only a game? She was quick, he'd give her that much, though he'd hold off for now on his judgment of her abilities. He flashed his fangs in a brief snarl at her wolf companion before turning back to Kika.
"If you're here to try to take my land and my food, I'm afraid I'll have something to say about that."

Kika didn't move when he drew closer to the ground. Placing her hand on her hips she shrugs "Thank you I think, and just to let you know Kal'daka won't attack you. She not in the mood to, at least at this moment." pushing her hand through her hair she looks around smirking.
"You don't have to worry, I'm not hungry, nor do I wish to take your land. We were simply out for a run. I haven't seen Dragnid Forest in awhile. So you can relax. Were not gonna take over." with a light shrug she kneels down petting Kal'daka.
The wolf barks before she rolls back over onto her belly. She wasn't too worried at this point. As far as she was concern, he held not threat at this point.

Kane shrugged off her thanks calmly. What use were thanks in the forest anyway? That was as close as she'd get as a compliment from him, however.
"Good. I have no problems with passersby. Only with arrogant invaders. I sensed other predators and answered the threat, that's all." Why was he explaining himself to her? He certainly didn't need to. He watched the pair for a moment with barely hidden distain. Either the two were really, really close or this wolf was nothing more than a harmless puppy. Kinda' sad really, considering what a great hunter he had taken her for. Perhaps she might still prove herself later on.
Kane leapt from his perch, flaring his wings briefly, more in a show of intimidation than to slow his fall before landing silently in a crouch. With a leathery flutter, he folded his wings over his shoulders and stood tall. Taking a quick apprasing glance over Kika once more, he swiftly nodded. "Kane."

Kika looks over him before she nods, his movements didn't seem to bother her, and if they did she had a good way of hiding them. "Pleasure to meet you Kane." taking a slow step, just to show she wasn't meaning any harm she circles him. It was merely to look him over, giving an approving nod she chuckles "For a feline, your not half bad."
Kal'daka stood, only instead of going toward them she turn making her way to the stream. Kika turns looking towards the wolf before shaking her head "That Kal'daka, she my little sister, and by little I mean she about a year in an half old." pushing her hair from her face she looks at him arching a brow "So do you always act this tough?" she didn't mean it in a rude way, she was just curious.

Arms crossed over his chest, Kane raised an eyebrow at her comment. 'Not half bad?' Oh, the girl DID have guts. That was for sure. He'd let her get by with that for now...
"I see," he replied slowly, watching the wolf carefully. That explained her behavior then. Perhaps the wolf wasn't as soft as she seemed...only towards her 'sister.' "Act?" he paused, eying her curiously in return. "Who's acting? I'm certainly not acting like anything." He didn't snap at her like he would have some. He could tell she had asked honestly out of curiosity. Some would have asked that in a retorical manner, never expecting an answer and only trying to display their mixture of disapproval and amusement at his way of life.
"Look, I don't know how it is for you two, but in my life, it's kill or be killed, eat or be eaten. Every day. There's no room for silly things and the only things that matter are the ones that keep you alive."
Maybe wolves had time to relax and play around, but that wasn't how life was here near Dragnid.
Especially not for loners like Kane.

Kika watch him before she mimick his movement as she crossed her arms "Looks like we have soemthing in common then Kane. Kill or be Killed. I follow the same and the playing you saw, it wasn't. It was teaching. By showing her I know how to beat her, it makes her stronger." looking away from him she smiles "She all I have left from the original pack, and I won't lose her." looking back over at him she bows her head slightly.
"And I am sorry for saying you are acting. You just don't seem like the normal feline that would attack a wolf on sight." shrugging she relaxes "In fact you seem more feline then pae'il, much like I'm more wolf then pae'il." falling quiet she glancing around for a moment "So why are you allowing me near you?" again she was just asking out of curiousity.

Considering this, Kane nodded slowly. Her explanation made sense. He'd had no one to teach him, so the thought hadn't occurred to him originally that this could be a teaching method. He'd had to teach himself by trial-and-error. He had the scars to prove it. Of course, he'd made a couple mistakes, but learned quickly. He had to.
He wasn't really sure how to answer her question, since he didn't know the answer himself. He'd been doing a lot of odd things lately. He was pretty sure that a few months ago, he would have attacked her on sight just for being a possible threat to his territorial claim. But now? Who knew why he was letting her get this close...both physically and...
"You mean there are felines that foolish?" he interrupted his own train of thought, eyebrow raised. "They won't last long with that sort of behavior," he sneered. "Why fight pointless battles? It only wastes energy that might be more useful if directed towards things like hunting for food. Waste your energy and strength, leaves you weak. If you're weak, you can't hunt, which means you don't eat, which means you die. Stupid things should stop picking fights that don't need to be fought." Kane's natural feline loner tendencies were showing through brightly right now. He had no attachment to his own kind if they were so foolish as to waste their energy and lives like that.
Eying Kika with a new thought, he voiced it aloud. "I could ask you the same thing. Why are you acting more Pae'il with me right now than wolf? If you consider yourself more canine, then why aren't we going at it like our bretheren?"

Deciding Kal'daka would be okay Kika turns fully to look at Kane "Yes most feline I have met have been foolish enought to attack thinking they would have an advantage. They leave with scars or worse, I maybe a pae'il but I grew up with wolves. I know how to fight and know how to win." pausing she titls her head thinking about his next question for a moment.
With a light shrug she shakes her head "To be honest, I don't know. This Pae'il thing is still very new to me. The wolf in me says to attack, but then the pae'il in me says not to as you don't seem to be a threat." holding her hand up she smiles "Not to be disrespectful in any form. I just learned after losing the rest of the pack, its not worth fighting sometimes. I rather learn about those around me. I guess that the pae'il in me." looking away from him she cross her arms again the way he had them.

Kane sighed, glancing up from the ground to meet Kika's eyes again. Slitted eyes met hers and he began to speak again. "I'll admit, I'm not exactly comfortable right now." That much was probably obvious by the occasional twitches of his tail. "Unlike you, I'm not used to having anyone else around, let alone another predator. I learned long ago the value of preserving strength for survival, so as a rule, if something doesn't threaten me, I'll usually just leave it alone. That regards other predators, obviously, not prey."
Pausing momentarily, Kane chuckled; it was an odd, eerie sound. Obviously, he was unfamiliar with the action. "Don't get me wrong. I can easily hold my own in a fight. You learn to fight pretty well when you're all alone in Dragnid. 'Course, the food tastes better out here in Loka Nei."
Distractedly, Kane wondered...what about the Pae'il in him? Was that what had been causing his odd behavior lately? After so many months alone in the wild, hunting, eating, sleeping, then hunting again...all of a sudden, he found himself in a series of situations that put him face-to-face with other Pae'il and forced him to interact with them. Was that the Pae'il in him, reaching out for his own species?
Focusing on Kika again, he commented idlly. "Not many Pae'il like us, are there? Makes us a sort of oddity, doesn't it?" He offered her an odd sort of half-smirk, leaving her to interpret it as she would.

Kika shrugs before she looks toward Kane with a sly smile she pulls the holder holding the blade off her hip tossing it to the ground. Taking a few steps back she chuckles "No there doesn't seem to be that many like us. But then I believe it is the way we grow up. I don't remember how I ended up with wolves, but I have always grown up with them. So I guess I adapted and sortof became one myself." glancing sideways at him she studies him for a moment "Now I'm having to learn to balance it out with my pae'il side."
Moving closer she bumps him slightly "So you as good as a fighter as you say you are?" the way she spoke it she wasn't trying to be mean, she was hoping he get the idea of playing. "Or are you all talk?" looking at him she smiles, if that didn't get him to understand she just wanted to play, nothing would.
