Formarly, the catacombs had been the final resting place of rich, prominant members of the Council. It was built like a maze to confuse any who tried to enter and steal the treasures within. Untold centuries ago, the Council sealed off the Catacombs. No new bodies were interred there for centuries. The city grew and evolved above while they lay as they had centuries ago. Most even forgot that they existed, much less how to get in. One remembered, however. No one was quite sure how he broke the seal and entered, but Captain was able to. Using a potent artifact in the Catacombs, he was able to move them from where they had lain for centuries. Now, the catacombs are directly underneath the Lower City. Since they were moved by magical means, they have no set enterance. The same artifact used to move the Catacombs underneath the city can shift the entrance and exit as desired. Recognized AU members carry a stone that can be used to temporarily turn a doorway into a connection to the Catacombs. Those others seeking entrance must be admitted by one who is inside, monitoring the artifact (guard duty, effectively). Inside, the walls are magically reinforced stone covered in runes. To confuse intruders, the tunnels of the Catacombs shift and turn, causing most people to lose their way. Those with the door opening artifact can allow themselves passage wherever they wish to go, creating an easy path through the tunnels. Those without must wander aimlessly until the guard uses the artifact to allow them to arrive somewhere. In addition, there are other security measures that may be activated through the artifact. The artifact itself sits at the very center of the Command Nexus, upon a pedastol of crystal. The artifact is an orb of unknown material whose color shifts as one looks at it. It also has scrying abilities, allowing the user to view events in the Lower City. The Wall protects the Upper City from this scrying to a large extent and there is absolutely no way to look into the Council Chambers.

As Fior started to abscond the shadowy part of the lower city, she looked down at a stone in her wrist. She had inlaid it there magically. She gently touched the stone and closed her eyes. A vision of The Entrance came before her eyes. She sighed. "Not there again.... he's doing this on purpose!"
Fior walked about half a mile through the city and stood before what was essentially: a dumpster. She made sure no one was looking before she squeezed her small frame behind it and disappeared.

The passage behind her closed and it became pitch black. She forgot how dark it was every time... She let out a small whimper and raised her free hand in front of her. "Soilsiú!" the corridor lit up and she stumbled down through the passage.

She stepped into the main room as the tunnels behind her moved with a quiet grinding sound. The room was dusty. She hadn't been there in a week. She set her muffins down on the table and waltzed into the kitchen. She grabbed a pot and a ladle and began beating on it repeatedly.
"CAAAAAAP'N!!!" she squealed. "Hellooooooooooooooo!!! Are you awake!?"

"Fior." The baritone voice that emanated in from the room adjacent to the one she occupied held a slightly darkened tinge to it. "If you ever do that again, I will bang you on the head with that bloody pot."

Captain walked into the room and glared at Fior balefully. "Put that thing down, I have an assignment for you."

Fior spun around, embarassed (and a bit scared). "'Mornin' Cap'n! Sorry, I thought ya were sleepin'. Too much sleep is bad for you, you know~!" she laughed nervously, realising how hypocritical her last statement had been.

She narrowed her eyes at her captain. "No sir, not this early. I haven't been here in a week, which means you people haven't had a decent meal in a week. Have a seat, I'll go make breakfast." She turned her back on any protest he might have made and triumphantly strode into the kitchen.

Fior set to work making breakfast. She opened the ice box in the kitchen to find that it was empty. She glared in the direction of the living room and sighed. "Looks like, once again, I'll have to use my own ingredients."
She moved aside what seemed to be a broken clock. Behind it was a small hatch about 5 feet off the ground. She undid the latch and swung into the small crawlspace leading to her room.
The small tunnel was covered on all sides with glass, so it was easy to slide through. She slid about 15 feet through the passage and dropped onto the top of her huge four-poster bed. She slid off and landed on the floor, brushing the dust off her bum. "Ah, Home away from Home..." she sighed contentedly.
She looked around at her already dusty room. Each AU member had their own room somewhere in the passages. She had chosen this particular room for it's convenient location, namely: near the kitchen.
Her room was fairly large, seeing as it was to be home when she dared not venture out of headquarters. The bed took up most of the room, the rest of it filled with pillows and strange knickknacks on shelves. She slammed open her closet door. One side contained her clothes, the other two large cabinets. One was an ice box, the other a large pantry. She rummaged through both, and grabbing the ingredients, stuck them into a pillow case. She kicked some of the pillows on the floor to one side so she wouldn't trip. She climbed back on top of her bed and, bringing the basket with her, climbed into the tunnel.
She fell out of the tunnel face-first onto the earthy brick floor of the kitchen. A small explicative escaped her lips as she grabbed the basket and slid the picture back into place.
She got out pots and pans, pitchers and plates, and a lot of silverware.
She began to cook.

Captain sighed and settled into one of the barstools that sat around the long, wide counter that extended as the division between the sitting area and the kitchen. On the rare occasion when all members of the Undeground were gathered here, all of these seats would be full, but now, not even the kids were around. Fior was correct, of course, the best cook after her was the Captain himself, and he rarely had the time for warm meals. That meant that it was often up to each member to obtain food for him or herself, which could be anything from cold meat and cheese between two slabs of hard bread to cherry pasties from Anna's in the lower city.

Still, Captain did not like delays. "You can listen while you cook.

not done yet...^^;
