Ghost lifted her feet up from the sand and slammed them down playfully. She was currently pretending that she was struggling in quicksand, and the adventure alone was fufilling in her mind. It had been some time since she had seen another Soquili, especially since she didn't enjoy getting pulled into a lot of the reoccuring drama.

After defeating the wicked quick sand, she turned her gaze to the wonderful ocean. She crept closer to the moving waves, and stuck her hoof in, only to bring it back quickly because of a chilled temperature. Maybe she was being silly, but the pink female giggled triumphantly when she finally put her hole hoof in.

She hadn't seen her family for awhile, so her silly games were something that kept her sanity in tack. She also hadn't seen a close companion named Hesperos, and the thought of not seeing him again made her sick to her stomach.

She had never felt so strongly about something, though she was unable to cope with the reality of it all. Most of the time she was off in dreamland anyways, so when something hit, it was hard to understand how important it could be for herself and for her future. She sighed and continued to watch the ocean, and was lost in her thoughts.

Prancing through the forest, Hesperos was restless. He hadn't really stretched his legs in days. His father had kept him occupied for awhile, but not long enough. He was a growing stallion, he needed to get out more often. But for some reason, he found himself sulking right now. With nothing to keep his mind astray for a few days, he found himself thinking of a certain mare. She had haunted his thoughts for the past few days, and he wanted to see her. Soon.

Parading through the forest, he finally came upon the beach. Oh the beach. Hesperos took a good whiff of the salty sea air. How nice it was to be here again. This was where he met her. Maybe someday he would see her again, he prayed that he would. Maybe then his questions would be answered to why he wanted to see her so much.

Looking out to the sea, Hesperos hadn't spotted Ghost yet, not that he was looking for her. He gave a big sigh and stood in the sand. It was a nice feeling on his hooves instead of grass... grass... and more grass.

Ghost had moved herself almost fully into the water. It was chilling, but also exciting. It also probably wasn't the best idea, but she wasn't thinking straight. She wasn't the best swimmer, so her legs were wobbly in the deep water. It seemed the water was trying to drag her in.. wait.. trying to drag her IN?!

Ghost turned her body and moved in the other direction towards the sand. What was happening? The current must have been a LOT stronger then she thought! She struggled and flapped her wings, kicking and pushing, any attempt to feel the sand under her hooves again, but her movements only resulted in failure!

"Somebody!" She yelled, but knew no one was around. This was so horrible, and it was making her exhausted. The water kept hiting her face, and she almost got teary eyed at the thought of not reaching the sand again. "SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP!" She yelled as loudly as she could, and was scared and helpless.

Pausing, Hesperos heard a disturbance nearby. Running out onto the beach, he saw her. The mare that was haunting his thoughts. But no, something was wrong. He heard her calling and then he began moving before he could even think about a game plan. Hesperos paused before jumping into the water. If he went into the water, there'd be no way he'd be able to get out of the water using his wings. So his best bet was dragging her back to shore. God, he hoped that he was strong enough.

Jumping head on into the water, Hesperos began to swim. Using his strong legs, he reached Ghost. But how would he hold onto her? (Damn the lack of opposable thumbs. xD) He called out over the rush of the water, "It's okay, I'm here." Thinking quickly, Hesperos allowed himself to move behind her so that she couldn't float deeper into the ocean. Using his legs, he began to use all of his might to push her back to where she could stand again.

When Ghost saw a familiar black figure running towards her, she felt her body feel more faint at the thought. "Hes.. Hesperos?" She coughed at water finding its way into her mouth, and she tried to collect herself. She watched him dive into the water with no hesitation, and her eyes became more watery at the fact that he was really there.

So many emotions were running through her head at once, that when she felt him pushing, she tried to focus and make her way back up to the sand.

Now, the beginning pushes and pulls were rough, and for a long lag of minutes Ghost and Hesperos were struggling to make it out of the water. But, with a glimmer of hope, and a good use of teamwork, both Ghost and Hesperos stumbled onto the wonderful sand.

"Hesperos, you.. saved me.." Her exhausted body fell straight into his, and luckily since she was smaller then him, she was didn't hurt him at all. She wasn't even paying attention to the fact that she WAS resting on HIS body, and she felt dizzy and teary eyed and happy all at once!

Sighing with relief when they hit the sand, Hesperos felt like he had just run 20 miles. Wow, he never thought he could feel so tired. Stumbling onto the sand, he didn't even realize she was resting on him. His thoughts were a jumble as he tried to interpret what just happened. Were they dead? No, he didn't think so. He could feel her warm body on him, it felt so comforting.

All he could think about was, wow, what the hell did I just do?

"It w-was nothing. A-Are you okay?" He managed to say as they were lying there on the sand. Thank god he was strong enough to push both of them to shore. Those few minutes felt like a lifetime, but he was beginning to wonder about this coincidence. Boy, did he feel dizzy too? He couldn't even see properly, squinting, he tried to get the sand out of his eyes. Hesperos just wanted to turn around and look at this mare.

She looked over to see Hesperos looking as out of order as she was. "I couldn't be better, I can't believe you dove in and saved me like that.." Her thoughts trailed, it was almost romantic in a sense, but extremely scary too! Hesperos was so brave, she envied him for that.

But then, her girly thoughts trailed on to another problem. "How embarassing!" She turned her face away from him quickly, and tried to re-adjust her sopping wet bangs." I can't believe how awful I look!" She would have continued her sentence as, 'and in front of Hesperos', but she wasn't THAT bold. She did feel disgusting, and weak in front of someone who she enjoyed so much.

"I am suprised you aren't laughing at me.." She brought her face back to him, having her eyes teary at the thought. "I was so stupid for going that deep in the water, you could have seriously been hurt and its all my fault." Her lip quivered innocently, and she felt just Awful.
