Red moon also stand for strength, courage, power, intersity. It could be associated with the element of fire and the greek god, Aries.

The blood moon doesn't come until October. The Barley Moon is in a few days though. It's a blue moon! Second on of the month.

I always liked red moons. I never though them scary or anything. Then again I use to love watching mars out my window in the summers, looks like a red star.

*gets scientific for a moment*

One of the major causes of a red moon is the ammount of polution in the air. They are most commonly seen near the horizon, where they appear to be VERY big, because there is the point of refrence of the trees and other structures, and VERY red (almost the color of the setting sun sometimes, because of the fact that its light is passing through the greatest ammount of atmosphere at that time. After the moon attains a greater angle in the sky it doesn't appear to be as red (or red at all) because of the reduced thickness of atmosphere that it is passing through.

The formal definition of blue moon is when there are two full moons in one month. It happens, but not often.

I love red moons, they are sooo beautiful- but they do give me the chills.

I am really big on studying and watching the moon, it just fills me with a feeling like no other. 4laugh *starring eyed*

being the nOOb around here, I'll post on the first topic I saw.

Yea, we've been getting quite a lot of those around here. If we're talking setting suns, that also brings up the chakra colors and how you see them in sun sets which I feel is a very amazing reflection on one's self. I guess this is why so many people like Sun sets.

The Red Moon, if it does represent courage or even the chakra color red, than it wouldn't suprise me as I do often feel effected by the Moon's very look.

Also, the Moon does have a direct effect on our emotions so it wouldn't suprise me either. We are over 75 percent water, anyway. There should be a ritual to perform on different moons seeing as how the Moon is very important in Wicca and the association with the Goddess. Does anyone know one that specifically points out Red Moons and Blue Moons (which occur every 2.3 months)

Heh, you're not the only one with scientific moments, Malkut. I love associating religion with science and I feel a thread should be made on these associations.

That would be a neat idea. Starlock would be good to help with it.

In my opinion, Magic is just science we don't understand yet. It does fit within scientific laws. So a magic as science thread sounds great.

By the way...you're not a n00b. You're a Newbie. There's a BIG difference.
