I'm the bassist in an alternative metal band and we can't decide on a name. I would appreciate giving me some ideas so we could finally have a name. Thanks.

Just think of something cliché.
Bandnames should not take more than 10 seconds of thinking.

uum, our band name has been a real hassle
weve played gigs as Hysteria, so i'm telling them we should keep it
but for an Alt. Metal band... um
Pig Fetus?
Dying Life
Vomit Breath
Excretion
i have no idea
Static Silence
Blackness
i dunno, there eaither too metal or too alternative
i'm not good with names
i wanted to call my band Mythology

Metal I wouldn't have a clue to name. xD

Well it depends on what you mean by alternative metal. And really a band name isn't something other people should suggest-they should critique it. It should either mean something personal to the members of the band or mean nothing at all. It depends on how serious you're taking yourself. If you're going to be goofy, like Gwar, have a name like that. If you're going to be artsy and serious, pick something more dignified.
Names of old horror movies or horror stories work nicely for bands like that-or if you're really heavy something that sounds violent (think of bands like Pig Destroyer and a**l Blast).
