I'm sort of stuck for a display this year and yes, I know it's early but I need to start planning now or I'll have to rush like I did last year and that lead to me being so tired, that I fell asleep and couldn't enjoy it.

I've done a graveyard and I've done a pumpkin patch... Here's a list of ideas I've come up with/been suggested to me. (Check second post.)

I usually decorate my house all random-like... But if you want a theme:

Glowey Stuff- Black lights, neon paint, other glow-in-the-dark items

Horror Movies- Dunno how you'd pull that off, but it would be cool.

I personally like the Carnival of Terror, Witch Doctor, and Zombie ideas myself though.

BTW: What did you do to make your avvies face all freaky looking with the glowing eyes and stuff? Was it an item or what?

Oh yeah, the G-Corp Zombie game at the Gambino Halloween party...I read about that in the old announcements when I was trying to figure out how to trick-or-treat so I didn't look like a n00b this Halloween. sweatdrop

Well you can always go out TP-ing people's houses, streaking, and scaring little kids for their candy.

I'd go for the Carnival theme, it's definately a personal favorite of mine.

I always make these HUGE plans to decorate my house, but I always get too lazy. And, there's always theatre rehearsals on Beggar's Night, too (which I thoroughly protest by wearing full costume), so there's really no point. Where's the fun if you can't SEE the little kids getting scared?

Can you tell us what materials you have available? For instance, you could do a "Dance of the Dead Theme" pretty easily with a lot of paper Skeletons (backed with sturdier cardboard.) You could print out some examples of old German woodcuts and draw them on big pieces of cardboard (and look to that famous Walt Disney dancing skellingtons cartoon for inspiration, too - there's an homage to that in Zim's Halloween Spooktacular of Spooky Doom, I think. Just a short bit.)

For the witches, you could also take a leaf from the same book, so to speak, with the woodcuts and skeleton and do a Malleus Maleficarium (Ooo, I don't think I spelled that right) witch hunt theme, repleat with Kramer and Sprenger (ach! Spelling again) and maybe DeLancre or Mathew Hopkins and Cotton Mather.

Lots of hanging, burning at the stake, that kind of theme (with maybe some clever witches turning tables on their acccusers in the background... or being accuser themselves?)
