Itias Fallspronounced 'it-ash' I know, this is Kakabeka Falls. I like it. Shhh. This will be our Itias Falls.Itias Falls is a wonderous place, full of magic and mystery.
Legends and myths have turned this waterfall into a thing one only dreams about.
It is said to be inhabited by the rarest of magical beings, such as the magnificent gryphon, and once, even dragons.
The Falls are surrounded by thick vegetation, and the forest floor is soft with decomposing organisms. Few have ever ventured to
this place of legend, and even fewer have returned.
Will you venture to it?

About the Roleplay
I imagined this roleplay to be something of a mid 1800's western fantasy.
If you've ever watched Seraphim Falls, that was my inspiration for this.
I don't mean western as in cowboys and saloons. The more realistic stuff.
More of trackers in Montana kind of thing, and settlers making towns,
or Christians making colonies.
As for the fantasy part, I don't mean flaming swords and green skinned women.
I would like to bring in the element of fantasy creatures.
Ex: Gryphons (extremely rare), Dragons (rarer still), Wood nymphs, Water nymphs, the occasional pixie, ect.

Rules
a) Follow Gaia's Terms of Service (that should be a given).
b) Please follow the gist of the roleplay.
c) Enjoy yourself, but you know, you don't have to.
d) Only kill a character if the user states that you may do so.

A tall, extremely thin 17 year old with tanned skin. She has dirty blonde hair, green eyes and always wears has a belt filled with bullets and neccarities, a gun, and a whip attached to the belt.
Personality/Background - She has a light Texas accent and loves adventure. She lived in sunny California for a while before her parents started bothering her about finding the perfect guy, being in a good college, and things like that.
Reason for Journey - She came to escape from her home, her parents and basically her life. She's adventurous and loves a challenge.

Name - Porter Pennington
Age & Sex - 28, Male
Appearance - He is about six feet tall, with dark blonde hair and grey-green eyes. He has high cheekbones, and would be good looking if not for the burn scars on his cheeks. His face is usually stubbly, but only around the scars. He looks older than he actually is, due to the silver streaks in his hair. He is usually wearing scuffed leather boots, cotton brown pants, a warm wool hunters jacket, and a hat with a large brim. He has a belt filled with bullets for his 5-round revolver, and it also holds various items.
Personality/Background - Porter is the strong and silent type. If he has anything to say, it is valid and he means it. Unless he's lying, which he is quite good at. He grew up in a family full of morons - that's what he usually says. His parents were tough, and he hardly lived up to their standards.
Reason for Journey - Porter is a tracker, usually for himself and for his own motives, he hunts mythical creatures that have been spotted along the way in history. He'll sell the pelt or feathers or such for a pretty penny, then move on. He is tracking a gryphon to Itias falls.

Personality/Background - Adventerous and loving, Yuri always loves a good story. Enchanted by the unknown she left her family and fiance to explore the unknown and to find an adventure. Since then she has become a decent archer, though only hunts for food. However happy she is amoung nature she still wouldn't mind having a friend. Someone to talk to... for defense reasons she keeps both a short sword and a whip with her.

The Plot
For some reason, your character is going to Itias Falls.
It may be that they're hunting a mythical creature, and it lead them there.
It can be for any reason. But they are unable to leave Itias Falls once they leave.
It is a paradise, and dangerous at that. They may be unable to leave because an animal ripped one of their limbs off,
they may be unable to leave because they are entranced by it's beauty.

Jessica approached the forest with her whip in hand and wiped her forehead
"The sun's makin this place hot today.."
She finally reached the forest where the tall trees covered the sun rays.
She immediately felt a cool breeze running through her hair.
She walked further into the forest and quickly found a small stream where she sat down for a drink ♥

Porter wiped beads of sweat from his brow. It was blazingly hot.
He once again looked at the tracks before him. The two front prints were that of a bird, with three toes tipped with talons; the last two the large pads of a lion or cat. Yes, he was following the right trail.
He rolled up the sleeves of his shirt, exposing his already sunburnt forearms. He couldn't get away from the heat. But he pressed on. His horse was becoming dehydrated. He needed to find water. To save the horse, he walked, leading the reigns. All he could see was rolling hills followed by a thick forest, distorted by the haze of the heat. He sighed deeply, and reminded himself of the prize he would aquire once he'd delivered the mysterious animal to his client.

♥ She cooled down by pouring water over her head.
She felt refreshed and took another gulp of water.
"Hm..I wonder where it would lead if i followed the stream..."
She stood up and started following it.
A bit later, she found a nice, warm spot close to the end of the forest and saw a great big waterfall.
She stripped and took a small shower in the warm water. ♥

After a good hours hard riding, Porter had reached the thick forest. It was cool underneath the tall trees leading up to the mountain. He found a rolling river flowing not far from where he entered the trees, and he stopped to let his horse drink. He studied the needles of the forest floor. They were strewn about as though there had been a struggle. He followed the pattern until he came across some silver substance. He dipped his finger into it. It was still a bit wet, therefore he was close. He summoned his horse with a whistle, and set off, following the blood trail.

Running among the trees, Yuri thought she heard the sound of water…or did she. It had been an exhausting past couple of weeks and had spent the last of these weeks with out food or water. Maybe poor planning, maybe bad luck either way was bad news. Ahead in the trees a sharp glimmer caught her eye. As she approached it she slowed to a walk. It looked like melted silver but felt only slightly warm to the touch. Crouching down next to it she brushed her hair from her face, pausing for a moment to let the latest wave of vertigo pass. It seemed a fairly cool underneath the trees but she was burning up, probably with fever.

Porter rode on. The trees were thickening, and the air around him became cooler. He buttoned up his shirt, which was now drying out. He was thankful for the shade and water, but soldiered on. Soon he would find the beast, kill it, skin it, and smoke some of the meat, and he would be on his way home.
If you could call it home. It didn't feel like home to Porter.
The blood spatters were becoming more and more frequent. His heart and pace quickened. He slid off his horse, and tied it to a tree. He gave it some more water, and fed it his last carrot. Then he continued on foot, revolver in hand, shotgun strapped to his back.

Hearing a branch break Yuri forced herself to react. Taking cover among the foliage she drew her bow and knocked an arrow. She didn’t know this land and who or what was in it and it was always better to be safe than sorry. Taking a defensive stance in the trees she did her best to stay hiddin until she could retreat. Wiping the sweat from her forehead her sea blue slid in and out of focus. Yuri was tired and hungry and not in the mood to fight. Please let it be a deer she thought hopelessly….or please let me be near the river with its water and fish… once again forcing her mind to focus she waited.

Porter turned around suddenly. He thought he'd heard something, but it was probably Charo, the horse. He ignored it, and continued his search for the gryphon. He loaded his shotgun with two bullets in each barrell. He checked his revolver, making sure he had enough ammo. He hoped that he wouldn't have to use it, because it wouldn't do much other than to hurt or annoy the beast.
Distractedly, he stepped in the blood, and continued on, leaving a trail of his own.

Resisting the urge to sigh she was thankful when he passed her. Easing her bow down she back up slowly. "I wonder what hes looking for? she thought. At first she assumed it was the silvery substance but as he passed it and walked on she was out of ideas and to tired to care. Not watching her step she stumbled, her knee colliding with a branch before she hit the ground. Letting out a gasp she froze, cursing herself. There was no way this week could get any worse. Trying to move farther into the coverage she backed into something solid and warm.
