It was a dim day around the Prideland-side borders of the graveyard, but that was were one little hyena had decided to wander in search of something to do. His mother had demanded a break, and he wasn't too thrilled about it but he would make due. Ibada had quickly found entertainment in collecting some of the rocks he found, and he wasn't too far into his walk when his pile became too difficult to drag along wherever he went. So a pile of stones, ranging from pebble to rocks bigger than the hyena's paws, was left in the middle of an open area while it's owner wandered off to scout for better rocks.

Of course, he tried to be very careful about it. Every once in awhile, if he didn't find any moveable rocks, Ibada would come back and check on it. They were his after all, and he would protect it if he had to. But he was away looking for a rock for the time being, nosing around looking for something good to take back with him.

Aten wouldn't necessarily think that rocks were all that thrilling, but bones..now bones were interesting. Growing up in the Graveyard had shown him that they could be used for all sorts of things, collecting, chewing, building things, and hiding in. But his familiar bones had been left behind him as he headed toward a place where he knew other lions would be.

He trudged along quietly everyonce in awhile glancing back over his shoulder. He had no need for a family that didn't want him, afterall he was of the Firekin blood, even if his father and mother were not around, and even if he was not in the lands, he still had a need to be proud. He was brave, big, and of course strong! Everyone feared the Firekin..so what did he fear?

The small hyena pup did not pay much attention to his surroundings as he stopped to examine a bunch of rocks he'd found. Ibada knew he wouldn't be able to take them all at once, so he had to pick carefully- he had to make sure he took the ones he wanted first, so if he couldn't get the others he still got the best. However, it wasn't that easy for him. Everytime he picked a favorite, he saw another that he just wouldn't leave behind. Little did he know he was not as alone as he thought, for a lion was heading his way.

Aten paused for a moment feeling that he had found a moving rock! He started moving towards the brown shaded earth thing..and then stopped again, how could he be so silly? It was only a hyena! A strangely colored one at that! He'd seen all sorts of colors, purples, greens, even pinks, but never had he seen one that looked like earth.

"Hey! You there! What are you doing?!" He shouted pompously at the little creature.

(This was started when Aten was a juve, yes?)

(( Juve, yes :3 ))

Ibada was pawing through the pebbles he'd found when the lion got close enough to shout at him, but the pup did not realize anyone was around until Aten did shout. He jumped, his fur prickling up on his neck and turning to face the intruder- standing over his pile of rocks.

"Stay back!" he snapped, standing over his little pile of rocks and watching the strange thing very carefully. It had to be a lion, Ibada decided- he'd never seen one this close, but from a distance.. it was too big to be a hyena, not to mention too ugly. It didn't look like the lion was after his rocks..

Aten chuckled as he saw the litte things reaction, "Look, I'm only wondering what you're doing, would you mind if I come closer? I wont bite." the smile on his face was a kind one, but there was defnatly apart of him that could become mean, even cruel. "I'm Aten, son of Nuri and Chomo, does that help you be at ease? I am a good lion..you can tell from my lineage." He was curious what the brown hyena was protecting, ha! Like the hyena could keep anything from him.

He paused and then took a step forward.

Ibada was not put at ease by the lion's words, while not entirely distrustful, he was very protective of his belongings- and those he was most focussed on now were the rocks. Still glaring, he stepped backward- only to stumble on the pile of rocks and end up laying on them. Oh well, they were a little safer that way!

"None of your business, Aten," he said defensively, not thinking that making the lion mad could make the situation worse. Pups did not use complete logic, in his mind explaining might put his rocks in more danger.

Aten chuckled and his chubby belly shook, "You're protecting your rocks then? A noble thing, a man must protect his treasures." His eyes twinkled as he spoke, this little one was no threat to him of course, but in a few years he seemed like he could be a worthy opponent. He hd dedouced the fact that the little one seemed fond of the rocks.

"I live in the grave yard, there are much more interesting things in there, I keep all my treasures hidden safely too!" He nodded quietly, "Are you going to tell me your name?"

Ibada's glare intensified when Aten spoke of what exactly he was protecting. He wasn't supposed to be able to figure it out! These weren't even all the ones he wanted to keep, but if Aten was here then he wasn't with his good pile. He seemed to soften a bit when Aten offered some information that helped him to relate to the lion. He had treasures too? Interesting things in the graveyard?

"I'm Ibada," he said offhandedly, and immediately went into the more important questions, "What kind of stuff is in the graveyard? What're your treasures?"

"Well, now that you're not so afraid I'll steal yours, Ibada, we can speak," he padded slowly towards the hyena pup and smiled, Ibada was just like him with his pile of bones! "All sorts of treasures, like elephant bones and other lion's bones, even hyena bones. The mists of the graveyard hold a great many things." He nodded all knowingly and sat down promptly beside Ibada and his treasures.

"I collect bones and hide them inside other large bones." Hyenas were something he was taught to hate because they threatened his pride, but this little guy didn't seem like something to hate, besides, the Firekins didn't hate hyenas..at least he didn't think so...right? What Aten was not taught about his people he simply improvised, assuming that what he thought was the right way of doing things.

Ibada snorted loudly, unable to hide it, when Aten claimed he was unafraid of having his rocks stolen now. He was talking, but he'd always be a little suspicious, especially when it was really obvious how the lion could very easily overpower him and run off with the rocks. He was still interested in what Aten had to say, though, so he listened carefully and didn't interrupt.

"Bones," he repeated, having never thought of trying to collect them. He only vaguely knew what to look for if he did try to find some, as he saw several great big skeletons in the graveyard when he snuck around sometimes.. but smaller ones?

Aten was about to give up on the little one, he seemed far to protective of his treasures to even pay attention but when Ibada repeated the word bones, Aten knew he had sold the little one on a good idea.

"I'll show you sometime, but we have to be careful..mean hyenas live in the lands, but that wouldn't be a problem for you, would it?" He nodded thinking that it was awefully silly to think hyenas would hurt another of their kind, especially a small one. Little did he know that Ibada's mother would be harmed if she entered the Grave Yard pack's lands.

"Guess it would be hard too, you don't trust me, I'm perfectly trustworthy, my father is a Firekin and they're the best lions in all of Africa!"

"OK," Ibada agreed warily, still wanting to keep his rocks safe and out of the lion's paws. He had to agree with the idea that other hyenas shouldn't be so mean to him since he was a hyena too. He'd never imagine his mother would be unwelcome anywhere, either. When Aten suddenly announced that the hyena's distrust was going to prevent such a venture, Ibada immediately looked alarmed- and when Aten said he was a firekin, which was the best, Ibada got up off his pile of rocks. He still stood before the rocks and Aten, though.

"Why are they best?" he demanded, not going to fall for it so easily.

"WEll..I umm..we're the biggest," he proclaimd, he had never thought HOW they were better than others, because of course they just were. He stumbled a bit at how quickly Ibada jumped to his feet, "My treasures are not far, and of course, I'm the best, why would you ever doubt me, twirp?" He puffed up his chest indignantly and glared at his new friend, so this was a friend?

Being the biggest didn't really make you the bestest, Ibada knew that! He was smaller than Aten, and better. Hyenas were all smaller than lions, a lot smaller, but Ibada thought they were better (he was biased and young). The prospect of treasure, however, made him want to follow along if he could.

"Um, ok- are you going to show me?" he asked, his tail wagging slowly behind him.
