((Eeep! Sorry for the delay Ash D: *got distracted*))

Metal clattered ears flickered as his single eye held it's mysterious and captivating stare as he looked off into the distance where the evening sun was setting across the valley. He flared his nostrils- intaking a deep, relaxing breath as his shoulders slumped and his head turned back towards the winding path back towards the basin where the tall pines and oaks covered the lands and their shadows concealed secrets, mysteries and the unknown. But this was his life- the life of a warrior; alone, distant and a constant battle to survive and kill before his own blood would be shed. Except the small run in with Shanti had left him feeling as if there was someone else in these woods he could trust although even she was scarce to come across. Aside from run in's and old acquaintances- Tasubaa always felt as if he was either on the run with trying to evade any wolf who sought his life for the lives he had taken or he was searching for a more defined place to call home.
He knew no "home", no peace and no sanctuary and his scars and the loss of his right eye was enough to prove it.
But this was his life; his challanges was what made him strong and no wolf could ever fill his paws on what he had done and gone through. Tasubaa was an individual and this was his mess. It didn't matter what others thought of him or belived him to be, let them think what they wanted. He didn't give a damn.
To each his own, he thought to himself with a shake of his head as he began drifting again back into the darkness of the thick woods and in pursuit of his next meal or, if the opportune was there, a new job on the list. With his nose wafting into the air and the familiar scents of his shrouded abode filling his nostrils, Tasu glanced about and slinked towards the right as his metal anklets clinked softly upon his paws and his sole orb like that of a raging wildfire seemed to pierce through the darkness.
He was hungry, he was tired, and being unable to locate the mysterious wolfess named Shanti, the fiery male was left to be idle and such time was best spent hunting and scouting about the shadows.

As evening blanketed the land in soothing shadows and quiet nightsong, Deimos loped amongst the trees, the worries that plagued his mind seeming to drain from his running paws. He was alone, which was unusual these days. Most would find him alongside his best friend and fellow alpha, or playing in the river with a certain purple furred fluff ball.
But it was one of those days; he would have them all the time as a pup. A day where one question awoke him from his slumber: What if I'm not good enough?
When he was a pup, Tasu, in their brief encounter, had assured him that he was good enough.
If he believed in himself and worked hard.
However, the huge alpha male was finding it difficult to think positively about anything, let alone himself. With Moirai hot for his blood, and, through him, his packs', Deimos kept tossing the idea of leaving his beloved new family and keeping them safe, or staying with them, and hoping that nothing happened to them.
And so he ran, hoping the winds and the trees and the birds would offer some answer, or even a clue to one.
It was when the last rays of the sun slipped below the horizon that Deimos caught the scent. It was somewhat fresh, but even so, he had to search deep into his brain for what it was. Or who.
Prone to talking when he was excited, even if the fiery male was alone, Deimos murmured, "Tasu? Could it be?"
Plunging his nose to the earth, he traded his wayward path for a trail that would lead him to a friend. He only hoped his friend still remembered him.
X-Ronso-X
His steps were careful as he sank into the shadows and hid himself from the outside world as, soon, his realm of secrets and darkness would spread further and once again he would be free to roam amongst the night and to search- search again for one acquaintance whose very existance still remained unknown; had Valex killed her when he stood against him within the pack? Or did she flee as well?
The male knitted his brows and pursed his lips while his mind tried to search for an answer- for logic that could finally put to rest his worries but none would come. No answer or logic could ever soothe the thought of losing a friend and, for the fiery male, he had few whom he could ever call "friend". Stubborn, cold and savage some called him but the warrior was simply a wolf with a mission and with something to prove, to fight for.
If only he could find others who rallied for his same cause of standing against tyrants, despots and wolves who enslaved others and disposed of lives without a purpose and without a cause.
For now- he worked alone.
Continuing on his way as he stalked within the early evening, a familiar scent seemed to catch hold of his nostrils and cause him to yeild in his very tracks. He cocked a brow upwards for a moment as he blinked his single eye once, taking only but a moment to process. A small smirk seemed to cross upon his maw with ease as he turned back the way he came.
He stood there, waiting as he could only predict that the individual would come and was already on his trail.
"Let's see what's become of the pup I once knew," he mused in a low, gruff tone while his tail swayed behind him with great curiosity.
"What will he be?"

The scent was getting stronger, assuring him that he was definitely on the other male's trail. As he padded along, his tail curled high over his back, something he rarely paid attention to anymore. It just felt natural to be there.
He hoped that he had become the wolf Tasu had told him he could be. Even though doubts always plagued him, Deimos knew that he had found a family that would help him through things. Unlike other packs, he didn't have to constantly fight to keep his position in check, and others didn't quarrel over which step they occupied on the dominance ladder.
In truth, he was a far cry from the wolf he had been when he was but a pup. Would Tasu be proud of his maturity, or wonder what had happened to the cold, callous Deimos he had first met? A pup the one-eyed male had said had great potential?
He may have grown physically, but the male still had a lot of growing up to do in every other area. His insecurities were a testament to that.
Within one foot step and the next, Tasu was just suddenly there, the shadows half hiding him from Deimos' sight. The other male's lone green eye shone with the same fire that Deimos remembered, making him twitch in happiness.
But they hadn't seen each other in a long time. He would be cautious, standing firm a little more than a leap away, though his tail still wagged high above him.
"Old friend," he murmured, unable to keep the grin from his maw.

Yes- the pup, that callous, cold and haphazard pup whose heart couldn't find its balance nor his mind its place on where he could belong or what he could become. Tasubaa lowered his head in respect as his metal clattered ears swiveled back for a moment and upwards once again. It was hard to forget him and, lately, the once small and rugged pup had been on his mind. But something inside of him- instincts, told him he needed not to worry and looking upon the refined, large and powerful wolf who stood before him only reassured him that, once again, his prediction was correct.
"Such formality?" He chuckled, deep in his chest as he drew closer. "No need for cautious, Deimos. You've my trust and my claws nor teeth wouldn't have a reason to near your flesh." Tasu couldn't but help let a grin slid across his maw as he settled down upon his haunches and looked upon him.
His single eye seemed to speculate and inspect the alpha from head to toe and his posture and the way his tail seemed to raise above him was more than an obvious sign of an achievement and respect that he had earned from fellow packmembers as well as his fellow alpha. There was almost a sense of pride that seemed to emulate from the warrior as he nodded his head, rumbling deep in his chest as it seemed that his few lessons of survival and, if one could call it, self discovery seemed to help forge a strong and noble individual who had truly unlocked his true potential.
"I was right," he commented as he rose his head in a rather proud manner, "made to be an alpha and you have found your calling." But the more he looked into the eyes of the young adult before him, Tasu found a troubled sense- doubt perhaps.
That was common but, in itself, could be deadly.
He pursed his lips as he knitted his brows. "But you seemed troubled; You doubt yourself?"

Unable to stay away, Deimos bounded forward, nearly knocking Tasubaa over in his excitement. Whining softly, the alpha licked his friend's muzzle, pawed at his chest, and chewed on his ear. It felt so good to see him again.
When the one-eyed male rumbled with pride, Deimos' ears swiveled back in embarrassment. "I have found my calling," he murmured, smiling. "And my family. I have you to thank for both."
But his smile faultered at Tasu's next question. Did he doubt himself? Unfortunately, yes, yet he didn't want to tell his old mentor that.
"Tasu . . . Sometimes I just feel lost," he admitted, falling to his haunches with a deep sigh. His tail dropped, and his ears were almost flat against his skull. "I don't know what to do . . . "

Tasu stumbled back a bit but regained his balance as the red, white and black adorned wolf bolted closer and seized his ear while he greeted him with his muzle and paw. Although the warrior was sometimes a bit rough around the edges, he did have his soft spots and, somehow, Deimos had seemed to find one and even the fiery male had felt as if the once small and rebellious pup was one of his own as there was a bond and an understanding between them.
He nodded, a smirk tucking at the corner of his maw as his tail thumped upon the ground once.
"Every wolf has their calling. You just needed to find the true wolf, the true leader within. And thanks are not needed- I help when I can and those who I see great potential in and those who I have great love and respect for," Tasu shifted his forepaws as his anklets clinked softly, his gaze never faultering from off of the male before him.
But as he watched as his friends smile faded, Tasubaa seemed to gaze harder into his eyes- almost as if he was searching through his souls windows to help him find the inner strength and belief in himself. He pursed his lips and exhaled a soft breath, listening and then formulating a response.
"You can either feel lost or be lost; in this case you feel lost. You've found your pack, you've found your place. You're not lost, Deimos, what you need is to believe in yourself." Raising his right forepaw, Tasubaa rose the chin of the alpha to level his eyes with his.
"You beat the odds in survival and you have respect, a family. You have more support than any lone wolf could dream of! Don't let doubt taint your mind, don't let your worries slowly sew you to a tragic story. You have a damn good head on your shoulders and don't let your instinct and your true self rot."

Staring into Tasubaa's green orb, Deimos felt his worries ease a bit, and his ears lifted. He knew Tasu was right, but than why did he still feel unsure?
"Tasu . . . I have a sister. And she's not only off her rocker, but she's hellbent on spilling my blood. I don't want my new family to get hurt too . . . " Especially not Alexander. It would wound him deeply to see any of his new friends hurt, but he knew it would kill him if anything happened to his best friend.
"I know, deep down, that they'll help me if I only ask, but I'm not sure if I want them to. I just . . . I don't know . . . " he admitted, looking away again. Deimos felt like he was letting Tasu down.
((Sorry for the not-so-steller reply. M'brain's shutting down for the night. Want to pick it up tomorrow?))

"There's one of those in every family," he mused, shrugging his shoulders, "and even one in a pack if you're misfortunate enough. Hell, that's how I lost one of my eyes was because of my own alpha who was so obessed with having me executed just because he thought I was endangering his reign over the pack." That crazed, power hungry male had stolen his sight and had become jealous of his close female friend, Kodi. "But even when we try to protect those we love- ...sometimes we can't stop it. You can't keep it a secret; they're family and when you become part of a family they need to know your baggage and how they can help."
His metal cladded ears flickered as he knitted his brows. Tasubaa knew that one could only run for so long and, sadly, it was futile to hide. There were incidences where you had to stand for something, fight, or fall. Sacrifice for pride? Perhaps. But it was for a greater good.
"Besides," he added as he swirled his paw within the ground, "what's family if there's no trust between an alpha and his pack? Trust in them, be honest, and they'll hold you even higher. Forget about pride- your not letting anyone down. You can't do it alone- it only lasts for so long until your past catches up with you; utilize what friends you have and let them in."
Trust, unity, strength; the three concepts that any successful pack seemed to unceasingly sustain. Was Tasubaa ashamed? Never. Life was unpredictable and everyone had a past and issues that they kept buried within their own proxemities. And dealing with a crazed family memeber- well that seemed rather common and something that was easily accepted.
"The only way you'll lose respect and let your friends down is by not being honest. Besides, it's not like anyone will let you go alone through this." Grinning, Tasubaa nipped at his ear.
"Just howl if you're ever in a rut and I'll beat the hell out of anyone you need me to."

The more Tasu spoke, the more the one-eyed male's words soothed Deimos' fears. Everything he said made perfect sense, and made the alpha feel sheepish for not thinking about it all himself.
Trust. He needed to trust his new family, and they would trust him. Everything would all stem off from that one thing. And he needed to realize that he couldn't protect them from everything, even if it was something of his doing.
Stepping forward on light paws, the big male leaned into his friend, silently thanking the other male for his wisdom, before he stepped back again.
"I'm so selfish. How has your life been, Tasu?" he questioned, eager to know what had gone on in his friend's life since they had parted ways.

It was simple to the minds whose experience and knowledge could relate so easy to the woes and shrouded confusion that the inexperience seemed to traverse through alone but, luckily for Deimos, Tasubaa could ease his opinions and insight in and, hopefully, his friend would be able to overcome his own fears as well as that crazed sister dilema- but he could be of assistance in that aspect as well.
A suttle, content, expression washed over his maw as the alpha leaned into him, thanking him with no need of words. A simple acknowledging rumble sounded from his chest. Tasubaa didn't need words and surely the male could read his response: 'You're welcome, anytime.'
Watching as the rather large male stepped back, Tasubaa cocked a brow while his lips pursed slightly. "Selfish? You're not selfish- you just need reassurance," he replied, his typical deep, gruff voice sincere and calm.
It was true; Deimos wasn't selfish- not in the eyes of the fiery male. He needed all the support, all of the confidence and reassurance he could get. Although Tasubaa would have found it a bit more difficult trying to give support to a wolf whose acquaintace was less familiar, it was simple to help the young alpha to try and free his mind from the poisions and chains that he was administering himself because of his lack of belief. But that could easily be done away with if he continued to pursuit good fortunes and create a deep, trusting bond between himself and and the pack.
The single eye of the warrior drifted about until it fell back upon his friend once again. "Life- ....it's been a hell of a good run so far," he mused, a small chuckle escaping from his maw, "but you never know who or whats waiting to sink it's teeth into your neck when you're not lookin'." It was hard to say how his life actually was at this stage- it all seemed the same routine, the same story; killing, drifting wherever he pleased, Shanti-his ears flattened against his head for a spare moment as he knitted his brows. She was elsewhere but that night they had become one, those feelings, that...that sensation. It was different, strange almost. He shook his head, shrugging his shoulders.
"It's never dull," the fiery male added, letting a small smirk tuck at the corner of his maw.
"How long have you had a pack? How large is it?"

Ever eager to speak of his pack, Deimos jumped right in. "Not very long. There are five of us so far, but Alexander and I wander enough that we'll find others in need of a home." Smiling wistfully, a happy glint in his eyes, the male added, "Ander is the other alpha. He's saved me in more ways than one, and he's my best friend . . . "
He seemed to drift into his own thoughts for a while, and he shook his head to drift back to the now. "We didn't want to be alone anymore," he murmured, shrugging. His two-toned tail wagged happily. "He said he'd do anything for me, and I will do anything for him."
As soon as he said the words, an almost painful need to see his friend gripped him, and he looked towards the west, back towards his home. Was Ander at the den now? Or wandering just as he was?

Tasubaa stayed silent; nodding his head and listening as his metal cladded ears flicked back and came forwards once again. It was reasurring to find that the once rugged and ruthless pup had forged himself a future with his own paws and had, at last, put his potential to use. At this, a warm although small smile slid across his maw.
"It's good to know that there are some leaders out here who I can trust. Seems harder to find those who are just anymore- but I'll find my place or go where I am needed." His voice was low, his thick, rugged vocals drawing out smooth while his sole eye like that of a blazing wildfire narrowed back towards the shadows- eyes searching to find her.
But it was futile.
Thanks to Shanti, Tasubaa was keen and quick to reading body language as the female was mute. He had come to learn the body had its distinct expressions just like the face and it took him only a second to understand. Narrowing his eye towards him, the fiery male took a step towards him and inclined his head in the direction where his friend stared off to.
"Go," he announced, slowly turning towards the right to where the path he was due to travel still remained desolate. "I should be the last one to keep an alpha from his duties, let alone a friend."

Whimpering softly, Deimos padded to Tasu's side, licking the other male's face like a puppy would do to a fellow wolf it loved and trusted. He nibbled on an ear instead of chewed, making soft noises in his throat.
He had become very physical since becoming friends with Alexander.
"You've helped me more than I could ever thank you for. If you ever feel as if you can't take the loneliness anymore, you have a home with me and mine. Always."
Standing before Tasubaa, Deimos dropped his tail, ears flattening. He bowed in respect, knowing that he wouldn't have gotten where he was if it hadn't been for the rugged wolf that stood before him. Deimos owed the old warrior his life, and he would gladly give it, if ever his friend was in need.
"May the winds favor you," he whispered, then added, a grin parting his jaws, "See you around."

"May the winds favor you," he whispered, then added, a grin parting his jaws, "See you around."

Affection was something that the rugged, fiery wolf had experienced several times and, still, the sensations of having his face licked and ears nibbled upon sometimes didn't settle well but it was a gesture to show friendship, affection and deep respect. Tasubaa, at times, felt the odd wolf out as such customs never were practiced within his old pack except by one individual- Kodi. But he was becoming more open, it was just taking time.
As Deimos displayed his own affection and emitted soft noises from his throat, Tasu rumbled and nudged him with his muzzle and then took a step back as his single eye fell upon the alpha once more.
"There is no need for thanks, Deimos," he shook his head, a small smile displaying with his pearly whites. "Loneliness- ...it's not being alone, it's trying to find where I belong again that racks my heart. But you can let it sit for only so long until it poisions your soul; I just move on. Likewise- if you need anything, just howl."
He stood there, his tail held high as he watched the alpha submit to him. It felt strange and unecessary but words as to what the say didn't come. Tasu stood there as he pursed his lips with nothing, absoulutely nothing to say. But as both warrior and alpha were to part once again, he smiled a bit wider.
"May those who passed on guide you; strength be your ally and justice be your compassion." With a final nod of his head, the fiery male began to drift into the consuming shadows of the night once more. Wandering- searching for someone, someplace...
Something to make sense once again.
