X may not be X. At least not the same Labtech X we once knew.
This thread (and theory) is most directly tied with Calmer's "Gaia Water" thread, and deals with the possibility that the waters of Gaia may be, in some ways, contaminated. Thus, it is my belief that, after being thrown from the cliffs in April 2k6, X landed in the same water that caused Gino and Gambino to un-fuse (after being fused in April 2k5, also as a result of Gaia Water exposure), and thus X will undergo some sort of similar transformation. The X we see next won't be the X we remember.
I believe that one of two things will have happened to X. One, the waters of Gaia transformed X into a monster even more menacing and, well, monstrous, than he already is (or was). The waters of Gaia will have turned X into a Giant, terrible creature, whose singular desire is the end of Gambino.
Two (and this is the one I think is true), the waters of Gaia fused X and Gino in the same way that they fused Gino and Gambino in April 2k5. Look at this page from the April 2k6 manga:
April 2k6 Manga - Page 11
In the first panel we see X, in the right bottom corner, falling beside Gino. However, in the third panel, X is missing, and we see only Gino falling. And what are those pieces of blue cloth around Gino? X's scarf, perhaps?
I believe that X lives now only because he inhabits the body of Gino Gambino in the same way that Johnny K. Gambino did.
Hmm. That theory kinda' evolved as I wrote it.

This theory has been mentioned (briefly) before. It is my intention to highlight its validity.
The Sniper's next target: Labtech X.
This theory of course, hinges on the assumption that Labtech X is, in fact, alive. Even if one chose to ignore the message "X lives" in the sig lab binary, one cannot argue that Labtech X was, and remains, a critical character in the Gaian storyline. Heck, we haven't even discovered his identity yet, he can't be dead, simply for the sake of the plot.
Let's review the Sniper's last two victims. First, we have Johnny K. Gambino, the "richest man in all of Gaia" and father to Gino, murdered (sorta) atop his massive tower only seconds after his son had regained his memory. Second, we have Ian, humble owner of the Barton Boutique, whose assassination attempt occured only moments after he was found not guilty to the charge of burning down the Gambino mansion.
So what connects these two? And what do they have to do with Labtech X? Only one strand loops Ian and Gambino together, and that's Gino. I believe that the Sniper does not work directly for Gino, but is his mysterious benefactor and protector. Johnny K. was a terrible parent, a man gone mad with power, who was in no way fit to raise Gino. Gino was tossed to the side, ignored. Ian, on the other hand, was a threat to Gino in a suitably different fashion: Ian was the only thing that stood between Gino and Sasha. Eliminate Ian, and Gino would be right there to comfort Sasha and score on the rebound. Swoosh!
Now we come to Labtech X, who, as seen in the April Fools 2k6 manga, could be the greatest threat to Gino so far. If X were to return, Gino would once again be placed in serious danger. I don't think the Sniper is willing to let that happen.
And that, in a nutshell, is why Labtech X is the Sniper's next target.
