So I was just being bored out of my mind, and I began to reread my manga collection. I was reading Skip Beat volume 4 chapter 20, from the actually book for the first time, and found an edit to the pictures! I remember downloading and reading chapter 20 when it was first released, so it shocking when I saw the edit in the actually Viz released volume because I never read the books but just bought it to support the author.

But anyways, in the 7th or 8th page of the chapter, Kyoko actually gives Ren the middle finger in the original version. Viz of course, and not surprisingly, edit that finger off. Did anyone else catch that? Or am I the only? (which would make me seem like a Skip Beat addict >.< )

oh yea! i saw that in the scanlations. but i havent got to actually see the real manga version one. so dont know yet. whee

Oh yeah...I hated that SOOOO much. Pissed me off. Sorry, but I'm pretty sure "flashing your fist" doesn't mean all that much. For the way Ren and Kyoko treated it...it seemed silly.

They had to change it since so many times they're remembering it and show the picture. Viz would have had to change the rating for that volume. They could only get away with it if it showed up once...but it showed up a lot more times.

I just thought it was funny how Viz edited that scene, but they seemed to have either missed or allowed the finger to be shown in the scene below:

OOO! I noticed that too!
It *is* really annoying, because the scene is mentioned in a later volume, and in the new context, the original meaning is messed up. I was looking forward to it too :<

I hadn't read the scanlations, but I knew there was something wrong with that scene. giving the fist just didn't seem like it would be something that bad.

Well that's because it only showed up once in that volume. They wouldn't have had to change the rating.

I'm pretty sure Skip Beat! has a T rating for 13+ and I have other manga that have a T rating with the someone flipping someone off...but they only do it once in the volume.

Think of it as the same as movies. In a Pg-13 movie they can only use the F word once...twice if they do it just right.

I thought that they were just hinting that she was gonna flick him off. I thought that it was kinda weird, why not just show the finger? But I guess now I know that it was edited off. That's weird.

Well, I didn't read the Viz edited one. Glad I didn't too. I hate when original works get edited. And I'm glad I didn't read the Viz edited version because if I had I wouldn't have seen it and it wouldn't be my favorite part.

Normaly i don't catch that stuff i get realy into the facil stuff like expresions and junk.but I only read up to the ending of vol.3.....{my mom never takes me to the book store!} crying
