*It had been a while since he had last heard the voice of one of his first friends. Someone he had heard back when he was just in his basket. Head lowered to the ground as he pulled at the new shoots that peeked through the still slightly muddy river bank. Wings folded at his sides, Andre's mind drifted back to a friend whom he missed, as well as the little fur ball that traveled with her. Lifting his head up for a moment he turned a little to graze again, his inherited golden gaze focusing on the ground as his long mane dragged ever slightly in the mud and muck. His tail twitching behind him.*
"I sure hope she is doing well" He muttered over a mouthful of grass.
*Shaking his head, Andre went back to eating, not really thinking that someone he missed could be near by without his knowing. From the time he was a foal til now he had met many, but none had really caught his eye, mare wise. They were only momentary friends that seemed to not last very long. Then again, he did enjoy being with his aunt and cousin, even if she did corner him about the secret he had hidden in his heart. Shaking the thoughts from his mind, Andre focused on eating, letting his eyes close and ears lay back listening to the sounds of the river instead of what could have been lurking in the shadows about him.*

Could there be a more perfect set up than this? Though she hadn't expected to see anyone that night, she stumbled upon her long lost friend and was thouroghly greatful for it. Tsa hadn't seen her now grown up friend in such a long time, she hardly recognized him! Her brown coat blended well within the trees that surrounded Andy, and she had been able to get closer to him without attracting attention to herself. She stopped and watched him for a few moments, and she smiled as he spoke to himself. Her smile vanished, her ear flipping back worriedly as she heard her small ball of green fluff rambling along after her.
"Not now, not now," she whispered. The sound got quieter, and finially dissapeared completely and Tsaluyi was thankful he was not better at keeping hold of her scent, or keeping up with her for that matter. She flipped back around to where her friend had been standing, and watched his quiet curiousity. Clearly, he had heard Lucky as well. She strode carefully around the trees until she was at his backside where he wasn't looking. Tsa flipped her mane carefully, and stepped out into the evening light.
"It's pretty out here, is it not?" she asked, a smirk on her muzzle as she glided towards him.

*His head raised as the sounds of something else about him, something that was far to the bushes at least. He shrugged it off as just a woods creature that always roamed at night. Tail twitching behind him, he went back to grazing, his thoughts still on Tsa. Ears turning back toward the very soft steps behind him, though merely thinking it too was just a creature of the night coming for a drink. It wasn't until a familiar voice spoke did he turn quick and land face to face with Tsa. Stagging backwards a little he smiled at her.*
"It is indeed." he chuckled pulling himself from the river. "I have missed you tsa." He smiled moving closer to her. "I've missed you a lot." Stopping for her to reach him, he stretched out his neck to nuzzle against her, his eyes gleaming with what could have been tears.

Tsa giggled lightly as he stumbled as if he'd seen a ghost. She looked at him more carefully from this closer view and realized he had changed both outwardly and inwardly. "I've missed you too Andre. You've even grown since we last spoke." Her smile faded into curiousity, seeing a tear falling from his eye. Her thoughts raced wondering what she could have done to upset him. Should she have stayed within the shadows?
"Andy... what's wrong?" She raised her muzzle and nuzzle his cheek gently where the tear had fallen. "You don't have to be sad, I'm right here... I'm right here."

*He couldn't help it, he closed his eyes as she nuzzled against him, he himself stepped closer to her and wrapped his head around one side of her neck and opened a wing to complete the hug before stepping back to look at her again. Tears still forcefully slipping from his golden eyes.*
"Nothing's wrong." He said shaking his head a little. "I've just missed you so much is all. You and that green ball of Fluff." he chucked, trying not to choke up. "I felt lonely while growing up, met some other mares, but they were all too boring." He sighed looking at Tsa. "I just really missed you, my friend." He added at the end, not really wanting to jump into anything straight off. He wasn't even sure if she liked him as he liked her. "How have you been? And Lucky? I hope he hasn't been too much trouble." Andre chuckled thinking of the bear.
*So much was running through his mind before it all collided with each other in many turns. He wanted to say how much he felt for her, but was it too early? It must have been, he wished not to upset his only true friend and live with heart break. No he would wait for a while so see what happens, hoping that they shared the same feeling for each other. Even just standing there he could feel his heart pounding in his chest, that he could have sworn it was louder then the water behind him.*

Tsaluyi felt slightly confused but warm as Andre wrapped his wing around her. What.. was this new feeling? Not only did her heart skip a beat, her breath caught in her throat, and her thoughts quieted until he let go and spoke.
She shook her head, as if to awake herself from the daze she was left in. "I've um... I've been very well. Lucky is good too, much more than a handful though." She let her mind wander again, back to when Lucky was such a menace to Andre when he was in his basket. Had it been fate that caused her to stumble upon him so long ago? Had it been her destiny to become his closest friend, and possibly more? She snapped back to reality when she heard crashing sounds coming through the forest towards them. She smirked at Andy. "Here he comes..."
Lucky thundered to the forest and tripped over a rock at the last moment, sending him head over feet and onto the grass in front of his charge. When he gathered the courage to open his eyes, he smiled at Tsa, confused as she looked. "Hey Tsaluyi! You know, I lost you a while back and had to try and pick up your scent halfway here," he informed her, slightly disgruntled as he got up to his feet.
He looked back up again, and realized they were not alone. He looked the lone stallion over, his brow knitted protectively in front of Tsa's hooves. "Listen, she's not interested, stud," he said, which earned him a grin and an eyeroll from Tsaluyi.

*Andre had to smile as she spoke of being alright and that Lucky was alright too. His mouth was about to open to say something when the ball of green fluff came tumbling from the trees and before Tsa. Chuckling he watched the bear give Tsa a talking to before turning to him. A mocking 'hurt' look crossed over Andre's face as he looked down at Lucky. Was the bear's memory that bad that he couldn't remember him? Or it could have just been that Lucky hadn't seen Andre since he was a foal fresh from his basket some time ago.*
"Don't tell me that you've forgotten me again, you little basket chewer." Andre smiled lowering his head down to Lucky's eye level, his eyes narrowing a bit,"Or that I was the one that gave you a fright soon after breaking from my woven prison. But then you haven't seen me since I was but a foal anyways. So that can be expected." Raising himself back up again, Andre s,iled at Lucky. "But once you remember who I am you'll let me be close to Tsa just as I had when I was a foal."
*Shaking his head and reached out with a wing and tabbed a flight feather on Lucky's nose before stepping past the bear and closer to Tsa, letting his tail twitch to the side, stray strands could crush against Lucky before Andre turned back to face him. A smile on his face as he looked at the bear, hoping Lucky would remember him, if not, Andre would really be hurt that the bear had the memory of an insect or something, not that he would say it out loud and upset either Lucky, or Tsa or even the both of them, he would keep that comment to himself.*

The young cub watched the stallion most carefully, moving away from Tsa to study him closer as he spoke, until the "basket chewer" bit sunk in. When it did, his eyes got wide and he looked up to Tsa for confirmation who merely smiled at him. He fell to his back upon Tsaluyi's hooves when Andy poked him with his wing, and he had to roll over to get back up again.
He walked to where Andre now stood near his charge and tried to push him away from her without luck, though he refused to stop trying. "Close to Tsa in a plutonic way, fine. But she's not allowed to date until she's thirty or forty, so don't try it." He finially gave up on trying to push him away, and instead climbed Tsa's back leg so he could sit on her back, though his attempt to pull her away was just as futile as trying to push Andy away.
Tsa was able to hold her toungue when Lucky said they could only be friends; she wasn't sure if either of them wanted more and she could always set her ball of green fluff straight later. But when he said she couldn't date until she was thirty, she burst out laughing at the cub. Did he really think he could set an age for when she could date? Even her father wouldn't so that to her, and couldn't, if he wanted to.
She winced when he climbed up her leg, but didn't stop him as they'd both become used to the slightly painful routine. She turned her head to him the best she could. "Lucky, I really don't think you have a say on what I can or can't do. However, any input you have can be told to me in private and I'll consider it," she told him, throwing in that last bit so he wouldn't feel like he didn't have a say, when he did. But in the end, it was her final descision and he had to know that too. She whisked her tail back and forth, bits of it catching in Andy's.

*Andre couldn't help, but bust out in laughter at Lucky, he was always so serious and protective of Tsa, but he wouldn't have expected anything less. Shaking his head, Andy watched Lucky try and push him away with no avail, to only clamber onto Tsa's back and try to pull her away. This was all too comical to Andy as he watched the green ball of fluff.*
"I hope when I find a companion, it isn't as serious as you Lucky." He chuckled. "Then again, it wouldn't be a bad thing." At this he shrugged and looked at Tsa. "I sure hope he's not that serious about the age limit, because I would have to have a stallion to bear talk with him." He smiled looking at Lucky.
*Shaking his head, Andy stretched his wings a little as they were starting to feel a little heavy at his sides. When he did, something silver fell to the ground with a soft ringing sound. Looking down, he noticed that the silver bell his mother had given him not too long ago fell to the ground. A slight blush passed over his face as he leant down to pick up the silver bell and set it upright. Folding his wings back to his sides, his head remained lowered as if he was ashamed of something, his mind racing a little as he noticed that some of her tail clung to his own.*
"Ahh..." Oh this was going to be hard, "Tsa? Do you think there might be more between us then just a friendship?" he asked looking away a little as his ears turned back a bit awaiting her answer.

Tsa was grinning, listening to the exchange between her cub and Andre. Her thoughts were interrupted by the sound a bell that fell from Andy, tucked into one of his wings she supposed. He seemed upset that he allowed her to see it, and she wondered if she should leave him be until he spoke again.
Smiling again, she stepped from beside Andy, and turned to face him, though he was still averting his eyes a bit. "Yeah, I think there could be." He still wasn't looking straight at her and she laid down, laughing. Tsa winced slightly as Lucky fell off her back, clawing a bit to keep his balance. Once he was off her she turned back to Andre. "You are so much more shy than you were when you were a young colt Andy. What happened to change you so much?" She watched from the comfort of the tall grass, a small ivory butterfly dance across the blades of grass towards Andy.
She closed her eyes when the wind picked up, and Tsa rolled onto her back so her feet were to the sky. It only then occured to her, looking into that beautiful blue sky, that she remember Andy could fly. If she asked him to, would he show her? She ignored it for now, instead letting her thoughts drift in every direction.

*It wasn't that he was upset over the bell falling from its hiding place too soon, he just wasn't too sure that he was ready to spill his feelings just yet. A golden eye turned to watch Tsaulyi as she laid upon the ground near him and soon rolled upon her back. Turning his head skyward a little as if hoping to see something that would give him a bit more courage he looked back at the bell again. Silence seemed to keep going on forever before he gently nosed the bell toward Tsa.*
"I feel the same say Tsa, even if a green ball of Fluff thinks other wise." He grinned toward Lucky. "That is why I'm giving you this." He said nosing the bell closer to her. "My mother gave it to me to do what I wanted with and... I think you should have it. You are my only true friend and I'm very happy being around you." He began.
*This was getting a little easier, but then again, it didn't seem like the right words were coming out. Shaking his self mentally he watched Tsa from where he stood, Andy smiled as he raised his head up high, hoping to look less shy then he had before.*
"I know I'm being more shy then I was as a colt. More feelings are overwhelming my mind that I still don't understand even after speaking to my mother about them. Tsa..." He paused hoping that this wouldn't seen strange or just plain wrong, he had to say it or nothing would leave his mind in peace. "What would you say if I said that I love you?" He asked finally, closing his eyes not wanting to see the reaction, thinking that it would be anything, but a good reaction...

Tsa smiled softly and got to her feet quickly, staring at the beautiful silver bell. She'd never exactly gotten a gift before and was unsure of what to say. When she looked back up to him, he had his head raised high and proud, and her smile grew a bit. Before she had a chance to thank him, or say anything about the bell, he was already telling her he loved her and she was left speechless for a moment.
She shook her head, trying to regain control of her senses and her ability to speak. "I uh..." she began, trying to think through what was happening. She finially smiled, her eyes glittering happily as she stepped forward towards him. "I love you too Andy. I always have but.. this is different. This is new. I've never felt like this before..." She kissed Andy's cheek happily, and tried as best she could to ignore an angry protesting Lucky.
Tsaluyi stepped away from Andy again, whispering to Lucky until he went back to their teepee grumbling angrily. Once he was gone, she turned back to Andre, nuzzling his neck happily.

*A golden eye cracked open as he heard Tsa stand quickly admiring the bell he had given her. He was glad that she liked his gift, it wasn't everyday that he had a silver bell from his mother to give someone. It would be his only one to give to her. Smiling he watched her for a moment before both eyes opened. He could feel his heart pounding within his ears as he heard that she loved him as well.*
"Lets hope we don't lose the love." He chuckled kissing her bacj before nuzzling against her, sighting that Lucky had retreated back to Tsa's home. "He didn't seem too happy about all this did he?" he asked watching there Lucky had vanished before stepping to turn some, a wing opening to lay across Tsa's back like a feathery warm blanket.
*Dipping his head a little he picked up the sliver bell to let it ring gently, it sounded so beautiful that it really reminded him of how beautiful that Tsaluyi was as she stood near him. He placed it back to the ground before he rested his against her, watching the night sky as it shown in all it's glory above.*
"It's such a gorgeous night, don't you think so too?" he asked hoping to go off the subject a little hoping that his pounding heart would slow. He knew full well that Tsa could hear it, he could hear the blood pulsing through his ears that it was making them hurt.

Tsaluyi was glowing with happiness but her ears fell back sadly when she had to remember how upset her little cub was. As much as he said that she was his charge, but she watched out for him as much as he did her. It would hurt her far too much if Lucky couldn't get used to her and Andy being together...
She was glad when Andre changed the subject, as she didn't want to dread on something that she couldn't change at the moment. She looked up to the sky to see the moon rising above them, the stars twinkling. "Yeah, it's beautiful, Andy. It's prefect up there." She smiled up at him, and then laid down next to him, nodding for him to join her. Tsa yawned and rested her head in the grass in front of them.
Was he really being reduced to running errands for Tsaluyi? Surely the fact that Andre and Tsaluyi were now a "couple" wouldn't change his entire relationship with her... would it? Nevertheless, he ignored the sinking feeling in his gut when he came upon their teepee, and he ducked inside to find a soft piece of cord Tsaluyi could use to hang the bell upon her ankle. He finially found a piece long enough hidden amoung the blankets the natives had given them, and he turned to head back to where Tsaluyi laid.
When he approached the small clearing, he stayed hidden amoung the trees, watching for any signs of how Andy was now changing Tsa. He saw several: the way she could hardly take her eyes off him, she wasn't dragging him around the forest for no reason as she used to... was he simply imagining it? He sighed and stepped through the trees towards his charge. "I found a cord that should work nicely." he told her, slipping the cord through the bell and tieing it around her ankle for her, since it would be impossible for her to do herself. He flopped himself down a few feet away from the couple, though he was facing Andy so he could glare at him until he drifted to sleep.

*Andre was glad to lay beside Tsa and nuzzle his head against her neck affectionately. Though he had to worry about Lucky a bit, the bear didn't seem to happy with them being together as they were. It seemed that he didn't much like it, smiling as Lucky had returned to tie the bell about Tsaluyi's ankle, Andre stretched out his neck and tried to tickle Lucky, hoping to up his spirits.*
"Hey buddy, I'm not trying to take over your job." Andre smiled, "Even in my basket I thought we would always be friends, all three of us. Yes, you too Lucky. We still can be even if my feelings for Tsa have turned into love. It's nothing to be angry about."
*He could only hope that it would ease Lucky's mind as he himaself turning his attention back to Tsa. His wings stretched a little before he folded them back, laying one again over Tsa's back like a blanket he looked again over at Lucky. His other wing still raised a little Andy wasn't sure if Lucky wanted to join them...*
