Then I worked at Red Robin, and at a cariacature stand, I was the mascot at Red Robin, little Goth kids liked to beat me up. Now I work doing half graphic-design and half organizing at Safeguard Business Systems here in Houston.
I am also getting a job as a waitress at a Vientamese restraunt/karaoke bar, which is unusual, because I am not Vietnamese and I do not speak Vietnamese.

Because I am an actor and a writer. More actor than writer, traditionally, but I love doing both things. Umm, let's see. I live in Omaha, NE, which makes me an artfag in the most recent mecca of artfaggery. Hooray for that, I suppose.
You can generally find me kicking around in Music, particularly Indie, but I've also been diving into ED's Morality and Religion subforum lately.
I write short stories most of the time, but I do a little bit of visual art as well, particularly t-shirt design and masks. I enjoy making masks a great deal. I've also, just this last year, got into the field of makeup design. I've done some pretty intense prosthetic work, and it's been rather rewarding. My big projects right now are a play drawing parallels between The Scarlet Letter and abortions in small-town middle-America. I'm writing it for my high-school so they can take it (eventually) to a one-act competition. My other big project is a real monster of a novel called Tether, at the moment. It's about fate, God, and a man who's tired of feeling. So you might eventually see chunks of that in here.
Other than that, I'm a Christian. Not fundamentalist or anything, just a non-denominational one. Christianity makes sense to me, and that's why I picked it. I sort of have a girlfriend, but we're not committed or anything. If you ever see her on Gaia, her name is Snitch Caligula. Really cool girl.

I draw. A lot. But I'm lazy and never update my website.
Profession-wise, I do commissions every now and again, and I've got my foot in the door at a major BD (artsy french comic books) studio called Les Humanoides Associes (Humano, or Humanoids Group). Ideally, I'd like to do concept work for an animation studio or get into sequential art... If I can muster the dollars, I'd like to go to Savannah or Toronto or California for a Masters in somethinorother. But as it stands, I work three part-time jobs, none of which are art related...
I usually hang out in the Picture Post, which is both gratifying and frustrating. Gratifying because there's lots of things to critique (and I'm an elitist art hobag), frustrating because most people are too retarded to comprehend what I have to say, or even take it seriously. You can probably guess that's me on the left with the funny hat... please attempt to ignore any resemblance the face on the far right may have to anime... i'm still working on breaking out of that.
Well, anyways, I'm a first year-going to be second year art student at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. I'm probably going to end up focusing on "cheating at art", that is, Computer Graphics (hehe), and you can probably guess that much as most of the work i have online is pretty much so. I'm working on getting scans of my other s**t so don't worry!
In high school i was taught from a mostly realism background, but I've been trying to break free from that, and I draw a lot of inspiration from the tiny but loud fauvist movement... I'd demonstrate that but most of the pieces that illustrate that are all on canvas and not digital... yet. Of course, I also draw from a healthy(?) addiction to cartoons, lots of strange music, and a fascination with quantum physics. Recently I've also been trying to break in to and experiment with abstract... I have a few digital compositions, but once again, canvas. Otherwise, I've dabbled in etching, watercolor, and other various media, mixed and not.
Aside from traditional 2-D art I've experimented with a little 3-D, but also I try to compose a few philosophies in the form of writings... but those are still protoformic... but i may share some later.
Lastly, If you've noticed the filename of my "art" image (überkinder)... that I'm not unfamiliar to a form of Elitism in art... as well as most things. I always try to push myself not necessarily to improve myself, but to "get above the rest"... lol... but that's sortof a half-joke with my friends and I.
Wait, random information... about the uberkinder... we're all art students of some sort... this may be moot, but from left to right: Art and Visual Technology major, Musical Theater Major, Theater Major, Film Major. We're a sort of "Art team", and you'll probably see some of that infulence in a few of my pieces. Just had to represent.
Anyways, I hope I don't dissapoint (or offend for that matter)!

I am rawwther bad at every medium of art, although I like to dabble in everything. Watercolor, acrylics, pencil, ink, and MS PAINT lyke roxx.
I post pictures like this because I have huge cancerous tumors on my head. But really, I only do this because.
I play piano, make up a bunch of s**t, and call it art. I've been trained for two years and playing for about eleven years, but I still suck and I am highly undisciplined and disorganized. I can teach myself Chopin and Joplin but ask me to play b flat melodic minor and I'll start hyperventilating. I've been playing classical/jazz clarinet for many years, I enjoy it, but not enough to practice. I play a variety of other instruments including Chinese flute (don't ask). Hmm... I've attempted set, but so far I suck terribly at all forms of drums including tenors and snare (I was in drumline).
So. I write stupid science fiction. Short stories, favorite medium. The last one I started was about space age gladitorial games as entertainment for the masses.
I am 3/4ths Chinese and 1/4 Japanese. I'm going to attend Washington University in St. Louis in the fall. I love my boyfriend, Dave, and if it all goes through like my teenage idealistic heart hopes it will, we'll stay together and win the lottery and buy Hawaii. Even though I love him, I like to e-hit on really hot girls, such as Lexxy *points to that hot chick who posted a couple before mine* -- does that count for artfag points? But seriously, Lexxy, you are teh hot.

I mostly do web design stuff. I live in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. I'm a devout Mormon/Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (so if you see me doing anything un-Mormon-like, call me on it!). I've been going out with my boyfriend for more than 4 years now... hopefully we'll be married soon; I'll be sure to announce it. ^^

I don't post pictures of myself online, and don't have any of said item in any event. I'm in my late teens, of average height and build. I have yet to permanently choose a philosophy, but for the moment I am a Bohemian. I am a writer and a poet. I am a (damnably) cheery person when I choose, but my poems tend to be rather dark. I suspect suppresed emotions may be the cause, but I deem such matters un-important. I have found myself to be afflicted with Narcissism, which acts up erratically. I am a strange individual in that I place my faith in the power of lies instead of truth. I am told that I am manipulative, though in truth it is entirely sub-conscious. I don't post pictures of myself online, and don't have any of said item in any event. I'm in my late teens, of average height and build. I have yet to permanently choose a philosophy, but for the moment I am a Bohemian. I am a writer and a poet. I am a (damnably) cheery person when I choose, but my poems tend to be rather dark. I suspect suppresed emotions may be the cause, but I deem such matters un-important. I have found myself to be afflicted with Narcissism, which acts up erratically. I am a strange individual in that I place my faith in the power of lies instead of truth. I am told that I am manipulative, though in truth it is entirely sub-conscious. Ehm... I taught myself to draw early on, I hated painting so I got into pencils. sWhen pencils broed me I got into computers using Windows 3.1 and art on it using MSPaint. For years I used on MSPaint and got pretty crappy at it. After such I discovered little things like anatomy, shading, light direction, perspective, etc. I went from Paint to Idraw3, to Oekaki programs, and still use Paint because I'm cheap as ******** and poor as hell.
I'm taken, so don't bother asking. I mean, that is, if you're interested in a 13/49 year old chimpgirl. Actually, if you are, you should probably seek counseling. And a straight jacket wouldn't hurt...
I'm emotionally wound, hate being reminded that I've lost my innocence (I'm not talking about sex), and I don't like people that are like me. But I like me. I like me more than you, probably. My name is Chris, but I also go by Autobot (Gaia) and as Rashomon pretty much everywhere else. Now that I have scanned through the members I find that I am a senior citizen (30) compared to the rest. Hiyas! I'm Jennii... I'm 20 and living in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I'm getting a BS Graphic Design through the Art Institutes Online (I'm doing it online because I have crappy health). I started at the Art Institutes Minnesota however, and originally I was doing animation.

My home life is rather... odd. I still live with my parents, and also living here are two younger sisters (one of whom is also on Gaia, Mentula) and a younger brother. We also have two cats, two parakeets, a painted turtle, a border collie / black lab mix puppy, and I have a Netherland dwarf rabbit that lives in my room with me. More often than not though, I'm at my boyfriend's house... we've been together for a year now, and I love him more than anything. domokun heart
I have my art roots in anime-style drawings, but over the years I've grown out of that (although I do go back to it now and again if friends ask me to make them fanart or something :3). More recently I've been trying to branch out into various other styles / mediums... I probably use the computer more than anything else (Photoshop / Illustrator / Painter), but I also like mechanical pencils, Prismacolor markers, crappy-a** ghetto colored pencils (I could never get used to Prisma's for some reason ), and acrylics. I briefly went through a period of trying to learn oil painting, but it felt like trying to paint with old frosting. gonk
My boyfriend and I have a little web / graphic design business. I do the image bit and he does the coding. At first we were just doing mostly personal sites, but our more recent projects include a site for an upscale condo in downtown St. Paul, an ecommerce site for a recycled ink cartridges company, and right now we're making a site for a hardwood flooring company that's had clients such as the Trump Tower and the Ritz-Carlton in New York City. heart eek heart
Other crap... ummmmm. I play the piano, I can also play the oboe / flute / clarinet but I don't practice them on a regular basis. I have a professional DJ-ing keyboard (whatever that means) that I like playing around with now and again. I'm a video gaming whore, and a lan party fiend. Doom 3 was hot, and I also like any Harvest Moon game, + Metroid Prime, Animal Crossing, The Sims, and Final Fantasy. I love watching Counter-Strike but FPS games freak me out too much to play them myself. (I can only play Doom 3 if I make the fugly deformed hell babies go away.)

I live in Los Angeles county most of the time, but right now I'm in Tokyo (OMG!!1) finishing off a six-week Japanese program at Waseda University and eating all the tanukisoba in the universe. And mocking stupid fangirls who are not in Tokyo.
I do not want to be an artist when I grow up (MY unrealistic aspiration is to be an FBI analyst). However, sometimes I draw pictures. And show them to people. (I will post some later.) I also write stories, but I don't show them to people because they suck. More than the pictures. I also enjoy translating things, reading bad space opera, playing video games, and knitting. Yes, knitting. I also love tea. And doggies. And goldfish. But not together.

Hi, I'm John, 22, a resident of Maryland and currently going to college. I have an A.A. in biology and am going to continue with a microbiology track in the fall in hopes of becoming a research scientist xd I've been writing fairly heavily for the past two years, my strengths being in odd science fiction stories and poetry (you can find some of my work here ArmorFelix at DeviantArt ) I'm also trying to improve my drawing (geared towards the female form) and just started up with photoshop as well. I am a art student, currently getting over with its academics and wanting to enroll in the California Instute of Arts AKA Cal Arts, in the Character Animation program.
I've been drawing for all my life, but very recently I have taken it seriously as a career.
As most artist, I am NEVER satisfied with my work, nor will probably ever be, but not because of lack of confidence or anything.
My tools are mainly Photoshop 7.0, my beautiful mechanical pencil and Painter 8.
I hate most natural media since I don't like to get dirty.
Charcoal is the only exception.
Yes I am an elitist, and yes I do believe that not everyone can produce artwork.
