[Wolves involved in the RP: Yasuo, Orphen, Lewana, Azmaria, Ola, Kalani, and the Holy Mother]

Yasuo slunk out of the den he and Orphen shared. He had lost track of the days that they had been in the new lands. With each passing day, they've had many lessons on the ways of their new pack. Some days his head hurt from the amount of knowledge he was learning and there were some days that he wished he could sleep in a little bit. But it was well worth it. Gazing up at the sky, he saw that there was no moon. That troubled him slightly.

Sighing, he flicked an ear slightly and sat down near the entrance of the den. He knew that Orphen would still be asleep, but something was bothering him tonight. He couldn't sleep very well tonight and the few hours he did sleep were in a light doze. Closing his eyes briefly, he pinned his ears back, allowing his mind to wander slightly. He hadn't seen any of the other pack members yet, but that was all due to his futile attempts to hunt. He had yet to see something bigger than a rabbit. It seemed that something had scared away the larger game.

Opening his eyes, he gazed into the blackness of the forest. He hadn't expected the new moon nights to be this black, yet here was proof that nothing was as it seemed in these new lands. "Bothersome moon," he muttered under his breath, clearly annoyed by the blackness of it. "Why don't you shed a little light on us."

Orphen felt him stir but she did not open her eyes just yet. She would wait first and then take him by surprise. What better night than to tell him when the new moon was up in the sky and the ceremony almost upon them. Ola had explained the ceremony to them the night before, how they should dance around Amen in praise of Cerridwen. To Orphen it sounded like fun, but she knew it was serious for the wolves who truly believed in her.

Orphen still had doubts, but she had seen proof too, proof in the faces of Ola and briefly, Lewana. They were part of the Goddess, the Holy Trinity!

Then she stirred and moved out into the blackness of the night, lowering herself into a playful bow. She would pounce him first and then she would tell him, yes that was what she would do.

Or she would have done if the howl hadn't echoed up around the forest.

Yasuo? She questioned, ears perking up. It was instinct but she raised her head and gave an answering howl, the high-pitched tone a welcome.

Has it begun? She sounded a little nervous now for she was not sure what to expect, but now, now she was sure. With a shake of her head she set off through the trees, heading straight for the scared pool. They had not been here since their first day, bathing to purify themselves, now fnally they were allowed back.

----

Ola looked up, glancing towards Lewana who was standing beside her. Unlike every other time, the little she-wolf was serious now. She had her duty to do and she would do it well. Ola had faith in her and why wouldn't she? Lewana had proved herself many times before. Now, finally they had another holy wolf to join in the ceremony.

Azmaria.

She turned her head to gaze sternly at Lewana, watching her carefully.

How do you fare?

I am fine, Grey Mists. Lewana whispered, using Ola's sacred name as she usually did in the ceremonies. Lewana had not yet recieved her holy name and that was beignning to worry her. Shouldn't she have recieved it by now?

She raised her head high as she spotted the alphas on the distance and raised her head to howl, for it was she who was doing the summoning.

With the alphas here that meant only three more wolves to come. Her mother Claire, Kalani and Azmaria. Then, then she would do her duty to Cerridwen.

She turned her eyes up to the sky and wondered, wondered where Cerridwen was that night. Then she realised. Cerridwen was not up there at all, she was down in, within her.

Kalani had been wandering around the lands on his own, he did so often, after all there wasn't many others to talk to and his aunt wasn't always the best company, he adored her but she was his aunt more then a friend and then Lewana, nope she was just confusing but he blamed that on her being female more then anything else.

He had also been deprived of male company from a young age, growing up along side the females of the pack, he had grown very protective of them, but who wouldn't when they were his only family?

He knew where he had to be heading now, it wasn't something that he was happy about though. He hadn't met the Alpha's yet and he was still sceptical, they were coming in to lead the pack and maybe it was just Kalani felt as if they were intruding into his family, either way he had to let the feelings slip aside. He let out a sigh before heading on.

It didn't take long before the others came into view. He hung back a little and just watched for a bit. He didn't want to join them yet, it meant accepting them and he was still reluctant to do so.

Azmaria had taken to exploring the packlands when not in lessons with Lewana. It was a nice change of pace and helped clear up her mind. With each passing day Az had been pushing the boundaries of her pains trying to figure out if these headaches truly were from manifesting seer powers that Ola believed them to be. If that was truly what the pains were then Azmaria wanted to conquer them. She wanted to make sure there was nothing that would stand in her way of making herself a useful pack member.

Tonight...

Tonight would be the first night that Azmaria would step foreward and do a job of Thanu. Witht he new moon rising it was only a matter of time until the wolfess would be thrust into her job.

She hoped she wouldn't forget what to say...

The sound of a wolfs voice echoed across the packlands. Azmaria's head snapped up. It was Lewana doing the summoning. Not wanting to waste another moment Azmaria hurried towards Amen all the while hoping that her pains would not interfere tonight. She hoped that she would be able to keep herself a float among the rest of the packmembers and not crumble in fits of pain.

Arriving at Amen, Azmaria moved to stand near Ola and Lewana. Her eyes gazed upon the other wolves that had collected. She had yet to meet all the pack members and tonight she would at least see them all.

[sorry about the delay. was waiting for Were/Mimi to post, but it looks like I waited long enough. ^^;]

Yasuo's ears pricked up as he heard the howl echo through the forest. He leaned forward slightly, unaware of Orphen's presence until he heard her say his name following with a high-pitched howl. Shrugging his shoulders at her question, he knew that it had begun, yet he still wasn't sure about it.

"Perhaps," he said, not trusting his own words as he said them. He hesitated for a few seconds to watch Orphen disappear through the forest before setting off towards the sacred pool, too. He wasn't sure what kind of ceremony they would perform this time, but he knew that it would have to deal with the pool again, just like their first day.

He quickly caught up with Orphen, being a little faster than she was. He kept his ears pricked up as the sacred pool came into view. "This is it," he muttered under his breath, his breathing getting a little quicker. He was both excited and nervous about the New Moon ceremony. Heck, he didn't even know his secret name yet. Shaking his head, he knew he would learn it soon enough. He had to give it more time.

Orphen skittered to catch up with her match, doing hre best to match his lengthy stride. She had learned to carry her head and tail high, staring straight into the faces of the wolves she approached. Like Yasuo she had not learned her Holy name but that didn't bother her all that much. She remembered Ola's words that it could take some time. Ola had even said that some wolves don't learn it until they were lying on their death bed.

She hoped she would not be one of them.

She said nothing as they drew up to gather with the other wolves, her golden eyes and scarred muzzle dissapearing as she nestled her face in the neck fur of her beloved.

I'm nervous. Her words were for his ears only.

With the wolves gathering and Claire the only one left to arrive the old female decided to take a step back, leaving Lewana to lead. Before she went she gave the little holy wolf a few words of encouragement, then turned to take her place at the edge of Amen's pool. She stood there, a phantam in the dark with her light grey eyes like twin moons.

She was ready.

Lewana's eyes went first to Kalani. He seemed wary and nervous and this worried her. They needed unity if this was going to work. She slipped forwards, stepping calmly towards him and made a strange gesture; nuzzling the air in front of Kalani's face.

It'll be okay, Kalani. She was not usually like this but now the ceremony demanded that she bring the wolves together.

She turned just to see Azmaria and a smile spread its way across her face! She couldn't believe that thistime round her best friend would be joining in the ceremony with her.

Azzie! She was about to go bounding over when she realised it probably wasn't the best idea. She coughed and corrected herself. Azmaria, are you ready?

Then she glanced around. Only her mother left to go.

Everyone into place now. She directed them with her nose, pointing toward the pool where Ola had already begun the start of the circle.

Kalani's eyes looked at the strange female and titled his head a little but Lewana took his attention away from the strange female. He nodded at the pure wolfess and walked towards where his aunt stand. He stood near her, still weary about these two new alphas.

He took his place and waited, he knew this was an important ceremony.

Azmaria couldn't help but smile amongst the nerves that were quickly forming a large knot in her stomach as Lewana held back her youngster urges. "I am ready, Lew." A wag of her tail was used to emphasis her words. Now all she needed to do was conquer her nerves. There wasn't much she had to do truly. She just needed to remember the few words that needed to be said. After that she'd be fine and be able to join the others as Lewana took over.

At Lewana's directions Azmaria turned to join the circle and stopped cold as she stared at those gathering. They were so close to one another...this wasn't a good thing at all. Well...maybe, maybe she'd be able to keep things in control. Licking her lips, Az moved to take her spot amongst the circle her nerves even worse now as she braced herself for an onslaught of pain. Her headache hit her hard, almost causing the femme to stagger, but Azmaria managed to keep her head up and eyes open. The ceremony wouldn't be long. She'd push herself through it no matter what.

[sorry about the delay again. this time work got in the way along with me waiting for Mimsey again. I hope she posts soon]

Yasuo stopped in his tracks as he spotted several wolves that had already gathered around the pool of water. He didn't know what to do yet. Everything was confusing to him. He didn't know if he would get the ceremony right. It was then that he gazed over at Orphen to hear her words. He nodded his head, being nervous himself. "Don't worry, we'll somehow live through this ceremony." He smiled shyly at her.

Turning his gaze back towards the pool, he noticed Lewana's muzzle pointing towards Ola. Taking the hint that they should form a circle, he slowly walked over to the edge of the pool, beside Ola, but he left a few feet of space between him and Ola. He gazed at the other male who stood on the other side of Ola, wondering who he was. 'He must be one of the few pack members of the pack,' he thought to himself.

(( whoops sorry, I think it's my turn @__@ ))

Orphen gave Yasuo a small nuzzle then followed the others' lead and moved to add her body to the forming circle. She was aware that some of the pack members were still wary. Maybe after the ceremony she could accept them heartily as friends. That way they might accept her as part of the pack too. She wanted to be a good alpha and she didn't want others to be wary of her, especially pack members.

She fell silent then, watching as the rest of the ceremony began to unfold. There was a magic in the air tonight and it crackled excitment and nerves through her fur.

She lowered her nose slightly and calmed her breathing.

Seeing that everybody was now in position, the pure white wolfess slipped into the circle, passing through the water with silent steps. The surface rippled gently and gurgled as she stepped up to mount the stone that held within it the bowl of Amen. She turned her head up to the moon and opened her eyes wide, the sign that she was ready to accept Cerridwen into her vessel. Therewere no more words now. Not yet. Not until the praising had been completed. Then she lowered her head and waited.

And Ola was the first to begin that praise. She lowered her head and danced sideways, urging the others to join her in the circle. She raised her head and called the name of the Goddess, tail waving eye as she pranced. Three times a name on each pass of the circle. Once the three cirles had been completed, then it would begin.

Kalani followed Ola's lead and started the 'dance'. He felt a little foolish doing so but it was needed and the white femme was in the middle so everything was happening now. The Alpha's would soon be official. He would then have to meet them properly. He was still cautious but he trusted his aunt and so he trusted her decisions.

He shook his head briefly to shake the thoughts from his head and threw himself and all his concentration into the ceremony where it should have been to begin with. There was no point in worrying about things that can't be changed.

Everything was going by well so far but the persistent ache within her skull reminded her of the close proximity she had to the others of the pack. With a slight reluctance she joined Ola and the others within the circle as Lewana took her place near Amen. The white wolfess seemed to glow despite the lack of moonlight. It was a calming thing to see actually and helped Azmaria push the pain in her mind away, at least for the time being. The ceremony was important and Azmaria did not want to mess it up because she couldn't concentrate.

The dancing around Amen was and interesting experience but one that was not all that difficult to fall into. Speaking the Goddess's name Azmaria kept her curious eyes on Lewana. The young she-wolf was transfixed it seem. As much as Lewana appeared to still be a bouncing pup she took her devotion to the Goddess very seriously. That was a trait that Azmaria felt was one of Lewana's strongest and most admirable.

Finally after the three passes had been made and Cerridwen's name spoken the correct amount of times Azmaria took a deep breath. The rest of the pack joined each other in a bow as the newly accepted pack member steped forward. Eyes drifted over each packmember before falling upon Lewana once again as she hoped and prayed she would not screw up her small role. "Dark is the night as we reach this turning point. Here is a time of death; yet a time of birth. Behold, the lady of Darkness, Mother, Grandmother. Old yet ever young."

(( Hit me if I stepped on anyone's toes, but I figured since all the wolves aren't doing much at the moment I'd move on witht he ceremony so everyone has more to put in their posts ))

She danced and she danced, calling the name of the Goddess. It was true, Orphen had had her doubts to begin with. Yet as she moved in a circle with the rest of the pack members she could not help but feel another presence with her. Maybe it was just her desire for there to be something more out there but as she spied the priestess and maiden she had a feeling there was more to this than just belief.

Then suddenly the rest of the wolves were coming to a halt and she lay on the outskirts of the sacred pool, pressing her nose to the dirt.

Lewana seemed to sway slightly, Azmaria's voice bubbling like an echo in the back of her mind. For a moment she was lost, lost in a place she did not know.

She felt love and warmth suffuse her and she raised her head instinctively. Then those familiar words left her mouth and she knew it was not herwho was speaking.

Hear me! Honor me and love me now and always. As the wheel turns we see birth, death and rebirth. Know, from this, that every end is a beginning. Every stop a fresh starting point. Maiden, Mother, Crone. I am all of these and more. Whenever you have need of anything call upon me. I, and my Lord, are here, for I abide within you all. Even at the darkest of times, when there seems no single spark to warm you and the night seems blackest of all, I am here, watching and waiting to grow with you, in strength and in love. I am she who is at the beginning and the end of all time. So Mote It Be.

Thens he lowered her head and awaited the response of the pack.

Ola, who had been lying with her nose to the ground answered the Maiden. So Mote It Be.
