Crime

Lorelei's was a gypsy in her past life. The life she knew was one of community and family, and one that was swift to deal with any wrong doing. By the age of eleven her parents arranged for her to marry a man who was more then twice her age. Although she wasn't happy with the decision it wasn't her place to question and she married without little fuss. She was never happy with the marriage but suffered in silence, forced to fulfil her husbands every whim.

As she entered her early twenties, she began attracted to and began an affair with a man from the local village. He was everything that her husband wasn't and as a result the affair continued in secret for some time. However, like most good things this time came to an end, although not as you would expect. Lorelei's husband discovered her adultery and in a heated argument Lorelei brutally murdered him. Her adultery and the subsequent murder of her husband were soon discovered by the gypsy community and for her treacherous actions Lorelei was killed. While it was feared in her culture that the spirits of the dead often returned to haunt the living, her community had little to fear as she was instead reborn many decades later of Gaia, her memory of her past actions erased.

Punishment

Other then being reborn as an infant Lorelei is fated to undergo another punishment. Should she ever be committed to one person or should one person believe she is committed to them, should her thoughts so much as drift to someone else she feels a choking sensation in her neck. This tightness in the neck is a reminder of the fate her past self endured. The strength of the thought also effects how strong the choking sensation becomes. This punishment is there to serve as a constant reminder for her past adultery.
