Aishwarya was in positive knots, she stood looking over the lake where'd last met Shikoba, her heart almost in her throat as she watched the pair of ducks scull across the water. It was alright for them, she thought, they'd already done the pairing thing.
She let out a breath; this simple thing that their kind had been doing since - well forever! - it couldnt be this hard, and she tried to calm herself, find the peace she thought she always had within. The evening breeze caught her mane, lifting the hair from her sticky neck and she stood with eyes closed, listening and smelling the air for the stallion.
If he didnt come soon, she would lose her nerve...

Shikoba was soaring across the evening sky. He had been wandering around all day, either walking or flying. His thoughts had been tangling around one thing. Well....one mare. Since meeting Aishwarya, he had mulled the whole thing over in his mind many times, yet he still had not come to a conclusion. He would have to see her again.
As he continued through the air, he suddenly realized that he had unconciously drifted over the lake where he had first met Aishwarya. Thinking that maybe he could work better through his thoughts there, he began his descent.

Aishwarya had thought that her heart couldnt have beat any faster. Until she caught sight of the shadow that was travelling across the surface of the water. She glanced up - it was Shikoba.
Calm down! she commanded herself, didnt work much though.
It was crazy..she was damn crazy. He was just a stallion after all.
Right, he's a stallion that you havent stopped thinking about since you met and even asked a complete stranger for advice about!
Aish shushed her subconscious, and merely watched Shikoba as he approached the ground.

As Shikoba glided to the ground, he caught sight of a blurred patch of purple, gold, and black. On closer inspection, he realized that it was Aishwarya herself! He forgot about his flying and wavered a bit, as he had almost let his wings fold. He struggled to regain his balance as he finally reached the ground, landing in front of Aishwarya.
He looked at her for a moment, staring into her eyes. The silence didn't seem to bother him. His heart was pounding, which he was slightly embarassed about. Let alone the embarassment of his fumble in the air.
Finally he spoke, though very softly.
"Hello Aishwarya. I didn't expect to see you here."
He smiled a small little smile as he looked at her.

Aishwarya watched Shikoba's rather..clumsy final descent and wondered about that. Unless - well she'd never flown herself obviously and it must be quite a tricky thing to do, what with winds and stuff.
'Hi..' she said, staring back at Shikoba, for far too long for her own comfort. She flicked her gaze away and then looked back at him again with a smile of her own.
'Well..I mean this is where we met last time and so I supposed it was as good a place as any to find you.' she shut her mouth abruptly, shocked at the speed in which all that came tumbling out of her mouth.

Shikoba's ears perked up. She had come here on purpose? To meet him? He had only accidentally stumbled upon their meeting place for the second time. Perhaps he had come here instinctively, with all his thoughts being about her lately, be it sounded as if Aishwarya had come here specifically to see him.
"You were trying to find me?"

'Yes..' Aishwarya said automatically and then spluttered a little.
'What I mean to say is, well I was here, and you were here last time I came to this place..' she took a breath. This is going really well she thought. In no way do you sound like an idiot..
'I was hoping to find someone to talk to is all..' she finished lamely, giving a half grin, flicking her thickly braided tail across the ground.

Shikoba smiled and chuckled a tiny bit. She was obviously in a very similar situation as he had been for the past few days. Perhaps it was good that they had met.
"I, uhm....I've been thinking about you a lot."
He frowned a bit. He had thought many times about what he would say if he saw Aishwarya again, but it always sounded a lot more noble and a lot less....well, weak, than what he had just said. He looked down at the ground, pushing around little clods of dirt with his hoof.

Aishwarya looked at him, confusion stamped on her face, her nose wrinkled as she tried to digest what he'd just said. He had? But why?
'Why?' she said bluntly, without really thinking. She realised how that had come out and quickly added;
'In what way have you been thinking about me?'
Maybe she wouldnt have to pretend to have found another stallion to see if he would show jealousy, or even have to go through a whole seduction act! She watched the way he pawed at the ground - she even found that endearing..you have got it bad she thought to herself.

Shikoba looked up, staring into Aish's eyes. He was a bit taken aback at the bluntness of her first question, but when she amended it, he looked back at his feet.
"Well...I really don't know why. I just can't stop thinking about you. I'm not exactly sure what these feelings are, as I've never felt them before."
He looked back up into her eyes, smiling at her.
"I really do like you a lot, Aishwarya. There's something about you that I just can't describe, and I can't get enough of it."
He sighed, thinking how lame he sounded. He thought he sounded falsely smooth, as though he was trying to pick up a date with Aish. Slightly embarassed, his gaze returned to his feet.

'Oh..' she said softly. What he had said pretty much echoed what she had been thinking.
'I..thought about you alot as well Shikoba.' Aishwarya said his name softly, pronouncing it as if it were something precious.
'I'm glad you've said that - I really didnt want to do.' she stopped, thinking that discretion would be better.
'Anyway..I hope that it means you wont mind me doing this then.' she clipped right over to him, and tucked her nose under Shikoba's chin, moving it out again and then nudged his nose with her own.

As Aishwarya lifted his head, Shikoba was a bit startled at her quick movement. Not a second ago, both of them had assumed shy postures and were speaking softly. This new and sudden gesture was different.
But as Aishwarya pressed her nose against his, his eyes widened and he really didn't know what to do. For a moment, he stayed there, enjoying the feeling of the soft skin of her muzzle. But then he pulled back almost as suddenly as she had approached. He only moved his head back a little, and didn't step away from her. He looked into her eyes, a questioning look on his face.
"What....that was nice."
He smiled, gazing into her golden eyes.

Aishwarya was happy at first, Shikoba seemed to respond favourably to her advances and she was glad that she had made that move. But then he moved away, and she felt such a horrid sinking feeling that it took her by surprise.
'I just thought..' she whispered, taken aback by the hurt she heard in her own voice. He was smiling at her, but had pulled away. She didnt understand at all..she twisted away, taking a few steps away from him to collect herself.

Shikoba was surprised again as Aish turned away from him. She was definently acting very strangely. Or maybe this is what mares did when they liked a stallion. Maybe this was how he was supposed to deal with these feelings that he was trying to figure out.
"Aishwarya...I'm sorry," he said, taking a few steps towards her. He smiled softly, nuzzling against the side of her neck, and then moved his nose to press against hers again, but only shortly, to see how she reacted.

Aishwarya let out a long sigh. This really was difficult.
'When you moved away..' she said, falling silent as he apologised and approached her again. She felt a strange, tingly feeling - warmth as he brushed against her neck and she held her breath when his nose bumped hers, her heart beating swiftly inside her chest.
'I thought..that it would be okay to physically show you that I liked you..' she spoke quietly, uncertain of how to explain herself properly.
'It hurt me when you moved away, I thought I had done something wrong.'
