I'm rather bummed out, and I wanted to share this story with you guys...
POTC is comming out on wednesday and that happens to be my birthday, and one of my buddies mentioned in another guild if anyone was going to dress up, and I had tought about it, but I didn't have anytype of costume...but when I read her post I got all excited and I really wanted to do it also as just a way to have fun on my BDay and so I went out looking for some pirate stuff.
I found a really cool broken Jack compass at target, and a cheap kids pirate cosplay kit, which I really just wanted the hat and bandana and it fit me...although of course the shirt and vest...forget it. lol
Anyhow it was on sale and I just happen to be thinking about dressing up so I bought it.
Well I has asked my BF if he would take me to the movies early on Wed's, cuz later that night is my brother's graduation. Anyhow he aggred. Yesterday I mentioned that we should dress up, and after I got home will all my pirate goodies, I shared with him that it would be so fun just to dress somewhat like a pirate.
So today we go to the costume store to look for another Pirate hat, cuz the kid's I know wouldn't fit him.
Anyhow he get's all this attitude with me and starts to tell me that he never said he would dress up, and that I was being really selfish to think that he would want to dress up too? Seriously that's what he said. stare
I told him, "well I thought, you would want to and I thought it would be fun..." and he say's, "fun for who?" I responded "for the both of us" and he said, "I'm not going to dress up like some dork and go watch a movie! I don't even like those movies!!"

I got really sad and offended...
he didn't have to say that.
If he didn't want to dress up that would of been fine, I would of been like "oh well ok.." and that would of been that. But no, he had to be ugly with me and go on and call me names and tell me that I'm being selfish because I thought he would want to cosplay with me.
I don't think I am being selfish...
I just thought he'd like to ya know...wear a hat.
Cuz it's fun...

I'm sad.
Plus he said he doesn't like to dress up.
So then we got into this discussion about akon, comming soon.
He mentioned he really wanted to go and cosplay with me..
but I told him, how can you cosplay at akon with me when you can't even cosplay with me for a movie?
I mean am I really being selfish?
He never before mentioned he didn't like POTC to me?
And even so, he didn't have to be so nasty with me and go on and call me names.
All he had to do was tell me he wasn't going to dress up, he's the one that made a big deal of it.
But he say's I did, because I got sad - and started acting like a brat.
Maybe I let him get to me too much, but I was just really sad...
...
*sighs*
now I just dont' feel like dressing up at all.
Have you ever been in such a cosplay situation?
Where you kinda question yourself or get unmodivated to cosplay?

You should still dress up though! He doesn't have to if he doesn't want to, but you shouldn't let what he said stop you from doing what you want to. You have every right to enjoy yourself!

You should still dress up though! He doesn't have to if he doesn't want to, but you shouldn't let what he said stop you from doing what you want to. You have every right to enjoy yourself!

I just found out that the movie comes out on Friday and not on my Birthday.

Oh well, I'll still be there to see it, with my jack hat!

Yeah dress up anyway!! ^_^ It sounds fun to go to a movie as Captain Jack Sparrow! That is who you mean right? O-o;; And also! *huggles* Thanks for letting me join! This guild is so sciency! Maybe I could learn some things so that my middle school won't think I'm a total idiot XD And yesh! Have fun!

It was great!
I would see it again if any of my other freinds want to see it.
There were other's there dressed up. I saw a girl in a pirate costume and some wearing eye patches and pirate hats.
I had a great time.
The movie was great.
