Arahila hugged her shawl close to her as she walked outside. She hadn't been feeling well again and she was almost sure that it wasn't helping any depression she was fighting off. She felt really alone here and like a contortionist had no role in the shows. She needed to expand her talents and soon...but she wasn't sure to what. She had always been flexible and enjoyed the stretches that made other people wince at just the thought of doing them. Now it was her turn to stare on at amazement at trapeze artists and the like.
Walking around the outside of the dorms she found a little flower garden with stone benches and sat down. Maybe she could get Shima to go on the trapeze with her again. That had been fun...if frustrating. Sighing, she looked around and pushed her hair behind her ears. It was all her own fault really...she just needed to try harder...

"Um Arahila I had a sort of question for you" Kayla said walking into the small garden from the left. Her coppery hair was down that day and was something of a wavy tangled mess: though a purple scrunchy was evident on the girl wrist.
" I want to do some practise but I need a spotter and maybe a bit of help. If you're too busy I understand." Having decided she really wanted to be a silks aerialist and that more extra practise and time spent specialising in that area.

Another beautiful day and Levana was going to take full advantage of it. There was no reason being cooped up in the dorm with only Tem and Ima for company. Besides, one or the other always managed to get on her nerves. She truly did like the two spirits but they were enough to drive anyone batty so Levana sought out company in other forms, human beings.
Her life at Kaleido Star had been wonderful thus far. She learned a lot since being here and was very much enjoying the thrills that circus performing brought. Circus acts were so much more fun to perform than gymnastics. It wasn't as strictly structured and allowed for a lot of experiments. Pretty much the only limit a person had here was their physical ability, this was why Levana had made sure to keep herself in top physical form. Between rehearsals and classes, the demon girl had taken to weight lifting as well as running and her body clearly showed the extra effort she made. For now though Levana just sought company and if it included a bit of excercise she wasn't going to complain.
Strolling out of the dorms, Levana's eyes caught sight of two other performers, Arahila and Kayla. With a smile, Levana jogged over to the two and waved. "Hey! I see I am not the only one putting this gorgeous weather to use."

Arahila smiled as the two girls came over, happy to see two girls she had gotten to know a little since she came here. She nodded happily to Kayla and stood up. "Sure. That sounds like fun...maybe you wanna come to Levana?" She turned to the demon girl and smiled again. Why not make it a group event? Maybe she could even learn some stuff...she had been meaning to ask Levana for some help doing physical training. The girl looked great after all the drills she had done and Arahila wondered if doing things other then flexibility exercises would help her learn new things...

Kayla had smiled at Aarahila's nod then nodded to Levana , " it's far to nice of a day to practice indoors, besides.." Kayla paused wonderinf whether or not it was smart to dilvulge the information she'd leanred through helping Matthew out the other day. On the oen hand keepign it to herself would mean only she would be prepared for it's announcement meanign she'd be ready for it's challenges giving her an advantage.
On the other hand it meant that the others would have to work harder to prepare at could lead to less polished performances which was bad.
" Besides Matty has told me that the temporary outdoor practise area isn't just so we can enjoy ourselvs and to give us more room ( somedays it was so hard to get the equipment or room you wanted) but because Rose is planning a big outdoor show competition for later this summer." There she'd said it. it leveled the playing ground and lifted a weight from her shoulders. yes now everyone would be spending more time learning how to keep to adjust to wind and the glare of sun on metal but at least she wouldn't feel guilty about hiding anything.

Arahila was just standing up, fixing her blue dress that she wore over he leotard today and re-adjusting her red shawl when Kayla blurted out the news. She stopped and looked at her curiously. "An outdoor show?"
She took a moment to privatly panic in her head. An outdoor show? Another oppurtunity to take part in a production...but she only had till late summer to learn something that would get her casted. Shaking off her worry she managed a happy smile. "Wow, that's great!! Late summer? That sounds like it should be a lot of fun! We'll probably get a lot of families and little kids!"

Levana nodded as an answer to Arahila just as Kayla spoke. Mis-matched eyes turned to the girl with bright interest. Little did she know the exciting news that Kayla had hidden away.
"An outdoor show competition? That would be amazing!" Oh yes! Finally something else to begin working on. Her trapeze work has gotten a lot better since she started working on the muscles in her arms some more. She finally had enough strength in her arms to try some even more challenging stunts and the competition would give her even more reason to play with the trapeze, not that she didn't have enough already. "Any idea what exactly the competition will entail?" The young demon was practically bouncing on the balls of her feet in anticipation. Just WAIT until she told Ima and Tem about the competition...well...then again the two of them may already know.

Kayla alternatively nodded then shook her head " Matt didn't give me any details, just that there would be an outdoor competitons that doubled as a sort of unoffical show. " She paused " Oh and that we're supposed to be getting some more trainees soon.."
Kayla wasn't sure what to think about that second bit of information, she certainly couldn't wait for the stage to grow but more trainees meant more competition for training time and attention, plus more people with new skills to dazzle the staff.
" so about maybe getting some practise in?"

Arahila was glad for the slight change in subject and nodded with a smile. This could really be her chance to show off a little...redeem herself for being sick during the Frosty show. Turning towards where the outdoors equipment had been set up she started to make some conversation. "More trainees? Thats a blessing and a curse at the same time I guess...oh, before I forget..." She trailed off a little and blushed, looking around. "Umm...you guys wouldn't know anything that a contortionist could do in the show, would you? I just don't feel like my normal routine would fit in well and I wanted to learn something else...I have really good flexibility and rhythm but I never learned anything besides bending myself into odd positions." She smiled again nervously and looked slightly scared of their answers or unsure of her question. It was kind of embarrassing to her and she didn't know why really.
It was something she had been wanting to ask Levana for awhile. The girl seemed so talented that she must know something that someone flexible would be really good at.

"New trainees should spice up life around here. It'll force a lot of us to work even harder to stay on top. Afterall, the life of a performer is always a competition whether it's against yourself or others." She smiled as she pushed a stray lock of hair back behind her ear. "I think that some practice would do us all good though. We can all help each other out." She nodded as the group turned toward their destination.
As Arahila posed her question Levana's brow furrowed slightly in thought. "Truthfully, I don't really have any suggestions. I don't know a lot about contortionists to be of any help. I'll help you as you come up with stuff though. Give ya the yay or nay." She winked. "I am sure you'll come up with something that will work. That's part of the fun, I think. Making new routines can be so thrilling. I now that I would love to attempt the tight rope at some point. Maybe even come up with a routine for it. I doubt that I'll pick it as my major focus later on down the road but I certainly want to try it. Have either of you ever attempted the tight rope?" She looked to Arahila then Kayla.

Kayla nodded " I tested the one for the main stage since I was one of the first trainees here. Matty was working with one of the older performers and he wanted a second opinion on the tautness of it. " Kayla paused and blushed " I was able to give an opinion but I wasn't a lot of help, I'm not very comfortable on it. But i wouldn't mind adding it to the silks routine i've dream up sort of a launch fro there to a ribbon you know?."

Arahila kinda fell quiet as the two girls she was walking with switched subjects. So Levana hadn't been as much help as she had thought she had been with suggestions but mentioning older performers she suddendly had an idea...she just wasn't sure if she should voice it or not. It didn't really go with the current conversations about tightropes. "Oh wow...that's sounds really cool Kayla! Have you tried it yet at all?"
It was a little embarrassing that she hadn't tried many new things since she got here but Arahila was trying really hard to not let it show. "Umm...sorry to interrupt but...have either of you ever seen someone do a Diablo act? I thought...maybe I should try that..." She blushed again at the thought but they were all talking about what they wanted to try anyways, so it kinda went along.

"Learning the ribbon will be interesting. It's such a beautiful thing to watch but I don't think I could personally get into it. I can't wait to see you doing it though! I am sure you'll be amazing at it." Levana smiled at Kayla. "Really? Do you have any idea if there's a tight rope set up for the competition? I've wanted to try it for awhile now. I am curious on how different it is from the balance beam besides the width. I would imagine it has quite a spring to it." The demon walked alongside the two girls all the while pullng a hair tie from her wrist and tieing up her ever-growing hair. If they were about to go and practice the last thing she needed was her hair getting in the way. Plus, being outside meant that the heat was more likely to get to the three of them faster than in an air conditioned practice room.
As Arahila brought a change of subject, Levana finished tieing her hair back and gave one last good tug to make sure it wasn't going to move before answering. "No I've never seen an actual performance. I had a friend who attempted to learn the Diablo but I am afraid she wasn't very devoted to it and didn't get past learning how to throw and catch it. I've heard that people who are really good at it can be quite vicious with it though." She tilted her head to the side slightly. "I don't see why you don't give it a shot. Afterall, it never hurts to try new things to find out where your talents lay."

Kayla shook her head in response to Arahila. " I need a spotter to get anything done at first becuase just becuase a pose feels right doesn't mean it looks any good.."
At the girl's question she shook it again " Only on the computer, I know it's like juggling that you need to find a rhythm or something. Sorry." Really now , she though I ought to know more about the different skills.
Se blushed at bit at Levana's words, she really had done a lot of research but she didn't know how well she'd adapt to the new apparatus. It was nice to have someone believe in her.
as for her question she shrugged " I'm not sure Matt wouldn't tell me everything but it's entirely possible so practice for it might not hurt.."

Arahila giggled slightly as they neared the outdoor practice area that had been set up. "So, we each one to learn something new for this upcoming show and we have very few weeks to do it. Should be fun, huh?" She smiled and pulled her shawl off, throwing it over one arm to carry it the rest of the way. "Well, we can spot you Kayla, then Levana can try out a tightrope if there's on set up and I can search around for a diablo set up." She had brightened considerably from the morning with the thought that she might have found something new to try.
