It was another quiet day for the young lion, and Tetemeko was off on his own and away from his father yet again. He loved his father, but always enjoyed the lions he met whenever he wandered away too. Besides, he could only cause so much trouble for daddy before he caught on and started being more careful. Today, Meko had found a lovely rocky patch near the gorge and was very, very impressed with one particular rock he had found. It was bigger than he was, warmed by the sun and perfect for a little perch for him. After a brief introduction of himself, the lion clambered atop it and settled in for a nice warm rest.

Uzalishaji was on his own, and something about it disturbed him. He was rarely alone, having four other siblings to keep him occupied and busy. They rarely left him alone, but today he had broken off from them, searching for a little peace. He just never expected that when he found his peace he would be disturbed by it. To him it was too quiet, and already he could feel the panic seizing his heart. Oh, he wanted to see a familiar face, or at least another lion to keep him company and help him find his way back to his dad. He didn't have a mom, and it didn't really seem to bother him. In fact, he really did not know that women were needed in making children. His father raised him and took care of him, and he was the only parent Shaji needed.

But, right now his father was gone, and maybe he was worried over him by now. Usually Shaji was not out of his father's sight for more then a few minutes. This really was a big adventure for the young juvenile. He was off on his own, even if it was a land he knew now by heart, and without anyone to protect him. Still, he did not want to be alone in this adventure... he needed a companion.

He held himself uncertainly as he walked, gaze searching for someone to help him through his loneliness... and then he found that person. His lips curled into a delighted smile, red eyes gazing upon a lion close to his age. With an excited hop he scampered into the direction of Tetemeko, sitting down at the base of the rock, holding the mainly white juvenile in adoration. "Hello! Hey, hi! I'm Uzalishaji. Shaji!"

Tetemeko was startled out of a strange dream by an even stranger sight, a unusual view from above of a little lion he did not know. He was dazed, still half asleep, when Shaji gave an excited greeting and introduction. He looked genuinely confused for a moment, and just stared before he made an effort to introduce himself.

"Shaji?" he repeated, blinked a couple times and seemed to wake up a bit more, "Hiii, I'm Tetemeko, or Tete." The little lion shrugged as he offered his nickname. Then he carefully sat up, making his view of Shaji even higher.

He frowned, knowing then that he had man an error when he first greeted Tetemeko. He looked exhausted, and a small part of Shaji was horrified that he had woken him. It went against the very best of his manners to disturb someone. Energy and excitedness had overwhelmed him at that moment though, and he had not thought about whether Tetemeko wanted to be woken or not. His ears pressed down against the back of his head in a burning shame, eyes shyly averting from Tetemeko's eyes.

"Yeah, yeah, Shaji. Ummm... it's nice to meet you, Tete." His mind had came to a dead end, the juvenile struggling to find something else to say. He knew compliments usually got a conversation rolling. When he told his sisters that they had pretty eyes they sometimes got diverted from their plans to torment him. "You have pretty white fur." He offered Tete a sincere grin, hoping that his compliment would get the conversation rolling.

Tetemeko quickly returned to the confused look as Shaji was suddenly overcome with shame at having woken him up without realizing that's what he was doing. Tete would never really care if someone woke him up, unless he was really, really tired. He was just napping now, so everything was ok! After all, he'd mainly come up to rest because the rock was so nice and he hadn't found anyone to play with.

"Nice to meet you, Shaji," he returned, sounding as confused as he looked. When his fur was complimented, he couldn't help but grin, "Thanks! My fur is like daddy's, except he's all white. You're fur is a pretty gold color." He would ask if something was wrong if Shaji did not cheer up.

There seemed to be a spark of brand new excitement in him, lighting his eyes and straightening his posture. Tetemeko was giving him positive responses, and had seemed to respond well to his compliments. Even better, they already had something in common - they had inherited their fur from their father's, and Shaji was eager to jump upon this fact. "Thank you! People say that I look exactly like my daddy. We both have the same fur color too, and the same eyes. I'm like a mini-him, appearance-wise. He's a little more... exciting then I am."

Well, females seemed to get excited over his dad. He didn't quite comprehend why, but his father seemed to enjoy the attention, though he had yet to really act upon it. Personality-wise, Shaji was like his mother, the mother that had abandoned five cubs. He didn't know about her, at least not really, and so he wasn't bothered by it. It never dampened his cheery disposition. Shaji could always been seen with a smile upon his face.

Tete tilted his head when Shaji explained how he supposedly looked exactly like his father, imagining a much furrier Shaji for the figure. It was kind of funny, and he did crack a smile about it.

"I don't look exactly like daddy, we really don't see anyone to say so or not but I know he doesn't have brown legs like mine, or any gold like I do, or even the grey," he explained with a nod, having never seen his mother he had no idea how easy it would have been to place those traits.

"Pssh, I don't think daddies can be more exciting than their cubs. I'm more exciting than my dad," Tetemeko puffed up importantly, whether or not it was true depending on who you asked but it was certain that the young lion kept his father busy.

"Maybe if you could let me see your daddy sometime I could tell you if you look exactly like him or not. Sometimes it's not just appearance... but the inside of you, too." He put a paw to his chest, to emphasize the importance of what he said. At least, this was what his dad always told him. Personally, he didn't think his insides could be all that appealing. He had been cut once before and they were red and sticky. Gross.

"Well, daddies are older then us, and so they've done a whole lot more exciting stuff then us. I wanted to do exciting things, but then I realized that I didn't want to do them on my own, even if they are more exciting when they are. My dad's done /tons/ of things, and he even taught me how to swim." His father was all kinds of cool, in his opinion. He was his siblings' protector and best buddy. Thinking of his dad, though... it made him miss him. He longed to be back in his dad's familiar paws, to be comforted by his smell after such a small adventure.

"I could take you to find him now if you really wanted to," he answered brightly from his rocky perch, grinning as Shaji emphasized the point of what was on the inside. It sounds like some familiar babbling he didn't really understand let alone care for.

"Daddies have done more exciting stuff, but we're still more exciting now," Tete argued stubbornly, determined that he was more exciting than daddy and always would be. He would bet that even his dad would agree! He looked a bit confused when Shaji said how he didn't want to do exciting things alone, "I don't mind being alone, but everything's more fun when you're with somebody else!"

"Oh," he shook his head, a little surprised by Tetemeko's offer to take him to see his father. "You don't have to. There's no need for you to get up and find him. I'll trust that you know that you two don't look alike." Shaji didn't want to bother Tete, or force him into anything. That wasn't how friendship was made, and it was quite clear that Shaji wanted to befriend Tete.

"I haven't done anything exciting though, other then playing with my brother and sisters. My dad's done way more exciting stuff back when he was young and now." Shaji couldn't compare to his father, or at least that was what he thought. Ezeoha was the epitome of 'cool', and Shaji was fortunate enough to be called his son. "I've never really been alone before. I usually stick around with my family. In fact, before I saw you I was alone for... maybe the second time in my life. It was scary, so I'm glad I found you. It's less scary now."

Tete grinned and stood up on the rock, now even higher above his new friend. He wouldn't have been surprised either way, had Shaji agreed to go to find his father or not, "Kay, you can meet him another time." If they wanted to compare each other to their fathers, they'd get a chance maybe.

He looked surprised when Shaji described how he'd never really been alone much, and how it was less scary now that he'd found someone else.

"The brother and sisters thing is probably why you aren't alone much," he said with a sage nod, "I didn't really start wandering off until my dad came and I went to stay with him instead of Tai and her cubs. If I want to find someone to play with other than dad, I have to go off on my own."

Shaji's neck was beginning to hurt from having to stare up at his new friend constantly, and so with a little sniff he joined Tete on the rock. It was a little more difficult for him, because it was clear that Shaji was a little bit of a push-over (wrestling with his siblings did not seem to improve his strength, especially because he nearly always lost). Perhaps in the future he'd become more muscular, but he seemed doomed by the genetics of his father (but at least Ezeoha had /muscle/ despite being tiny).

"It's good having lots of sisters and a brother, they keep me safe and are always looking out for me. I don't mind having them, even if it makes me worried to be alone." Every single one of his siblings was glorified in his mind, though by far Ezeoha was the most glorified. Even Sineri seemed to hold him in some god-like awe. He looked up to every single one of them and was as dedicated to them as anyone could ever be. "I don't like leaving my dad much, but it's nice having found someone to play with. My dad won't mind, though he encourages me to play with girls... I don't understand that. Boys are funner."

Tete was oblivious to the discomfort his perch was causing his friend, but once it was obvious that he was joining him upon the rock he moved over to make sure there was enough room for him there as well. It looked like he didn't climb a lot of rocks, which wasn't bad but Tete thought it was rather fun. Tete listened attentively to what Shaji said about having siblings, for he had none of his own- none that he knew about anyway. He was happy with just him and his dad, of course he'd considered Tai and her cubs all family, but now that he was with his dad, where he'd always was told he would go and thus felt he belonged, he wasn't sure siblings would be so fun.

"I don't think my daddy likes me leaving much," he said with a small shrug, "And I like staying with him, but other stuff is fun sometimes. Why wouldn't your dad want you to play with boys?" Tete wrinkled his nose curiously.
