So I'm lurking in my favorite pokemon thread in the gaming forum, when what should appear but a n00b who is arrogant, rude, pissy, pushy and worst of all, completely illiterate. After a long and heated argument raging between him and some of our regulars who were completely offended by his attitude, random hostility, horribly uncalled for insults and general stupidness, he tried to come back with some long words. If I recall they were attempts at the words that meant 'fear of long words' and 'people who are against people who are against the government and authority'.
Here's the issue: he was trying to sell pokemon on gaia for gaia gold, which, as we know, is entirely against the ToS. Some of us kindly tried to point this out to him and were met with uncalled for hostility. So he goes back to it and tries to entice people into 'being rebels' and doing it anyways. One of our regulars was, by now, entirely fed up with him and ascerbically pointed out that 'being a rebel' would get you banned and that we would all report him and anyone who accepted his offer.
He then replies to this and calls him, oh let's see what was the mangled word he used...uhm....antidisestablishmentarianismistan and then goes on to say 'and if you don't know what that means than you must have hippopotophormolinguaphobianess'.
It would have been clever and possibly impressive, even if he was just trying to show off if he hadn't f*cked up the words royally.

I can hardly pronounce his overinflated words. eek It's the reciprocal effect in action! biggrin Strong Bad You know when you got a high enough score that the counter will reset itself back to zero? That's what happens when one acts so stupid that he's actually acting smart for a change. Of course, unlike that one email categorizing on Homestar's many types of stupidity, as Strong Bad calls it, this situation is the inverse of this classification. The noob in the example acts so smart that it looks absolutely stupid; a reversal of the quote above. Then again, I could be wrong. confused

Ironically, antidisestablishmentarianism is a word, but it has no significance or coherence with the thread, or anything. Looks like Maddox's ranting all came to nothing.

It's like, he knew what he was doing, he had the right idea, started to type it out, and then his brain suddenly spasmed and those came out instead.

Hear, hear!
Although it does create the illusion of an intelligent person if you were to use words like, say, eschatological, paradigm and hypothalamus.

Yes, but how often does one have the chance to say 'hypothalamus' in everyday conversation? Usually, it makes you sound a bit odd.
