Hula Bob looked at the beach. This time he had decided to try a smaller apporach. He had a picnic laid out. With Coconut Freezers, sandwitches, fries and Key Lime pie. Hula Bob also had a few tiki torches out with them lit. It was a nice setting. He hopped Lucia liked it.

Hula Bob sat down and waited on his hammock. It was a nice day and hopfully would get even nicer.

Lucia was excited about getting out and meeting Hula Bob, tho, her ego wouldn't let herself express the excitement outwardly. No one ever wanted to talk to just her. It was always either Lucius, or Joi or her mom or dad.

But not today. With a spring in her step, she made her way for the beach. When she got there, she was taken aback at the spread, and wondered if that was done just for her, or if it was something he did for all his guests.

"Hey, Hula Bob?" She assumed as much, since he was the only pae she seen matching his description.

Hula Bob got up when the teen fae appeared on the beach. "Aloha, Lucia. Welcome to my beach." He winked as he of course knew it wasn't his beach. He just lived there so long he felt that way.

"Would you like to sit down?" He walked over and smiled as he held out his hand for a shake.

Lucia smiled softly, not used to smiling at all. (poor emo kid) "Thanks." she took his hand gently, then pulled back to fold her hands behind her. "So, is all this ... for me?" she asked, looking at the picnic spread.

"Oh, no I do this all the time." Hula Bob said with a wink. "Awesomely it is. I firgure pretty girls should have a nice picnic. It's what I'm totally good at." He smiled again and sat down. "I hope you like to eat these things. If I not I can pop into the bar and whip up whatever you like. Like I said it's what I'm good at."

A small little glint of disappointment pinged in the back of her head, she had been hoping it was just for, but she didn't let that show. She was still excited about this opportunity to get out and socialize with a pae she wasn't related to. "Oh no, these things are good. They all look so yummy." She smiled slightly again. A record for her, 2 smiles in one day!

She followed his lead and sat down. It was a little obvious she nervous as she started fidgeting when she sat.

Hula Bob hadn't ment he went on lots of dates so he kinda knew that was the wrong thing to say. "Still, it was made for you today. I dont' have picnics just waiting for pretty girls to show. Though, you could show up her often if you wanted. It's always nice to see pretty beach bunnies!" He chuckled as he made a plate of food and sat it in front of Lucia. He then made his own.

Lucia's pink checks darkened a little. No one'd ever called her pretty before, besides her mom and dad, so to hear it from someone else felt nice. "That'd be kinda funny if you did tho." she tried a silly joke, trying to ease her nerves a bit. "And thank you, for the picnic spread, Hula Bob..." she happily accept the food plate he'd made for her, and picked up a small portion to eat, but paused for a moment.

"Hula Bob... do you mind... if I call you Bob?" she looked directly at him, trying to make eye contact. 'Hula Bob' was a mouthful, if one had to say it a lot, so she was curious if a nickname was ok. She was smiling a little more consistantly now, and before she'd given him a chance to respond, she'd popped the bite of pineapple into her mouth.

Hula Bob chuckled. "Yeah, that would be awesome. Maybe I should. That way beach bunnies will be on my beach all the time." He chuckled a bit more at that thought.

"Oh, sure you can. Bob is fine." Hula Bob winked to her. No one had ever really called him that. They normally stuck the whole name to him. "I have great grand twins with the name Waikiki KiKi and Waikiki Keanu. Those are long." Wait, should he have told her that. Now he's going to look sooo old.

Lucia laughed, he was a rather funny guy. Funnier than her dad at least. "Most likely. Girls love picnics." she joked back too, tho ... felt her joke was a little lame.

She paused when he said he had great grand kids. Now she did know he was a bit on the older-than-her side, because her parents mentioned meeting at his bar, but the mention of that many generations caught her off guard. It wasn't bad, just not what she expect. She was quiet a moment and then popped another pineapple chunk into her mouth, swallowing before speaking again. "Your right, now THOSE are mouthfuls!" she chuckled lightly and set her plat back down on the blanket and relaxed herself a bit by switching positions. (sitting cross-legged, instead of with her legs folded underneath her.)

"So, you have kids?" she asked casually. Obviously they were adults if they too had their own kids. "What are they like?"

Hula Bob did laugh at her joke. It was pretty good. He smiled to her as he ate a bit of his food.

"Oh, yeah they are. It's a thing in my family to have two names. At least with most." Hula Bob had named one daughter and then down from there was the tradition.

He shook his head. "Yeah, I had three. Two were lost to me and there is Luau LuLu. She had Tiki Jim and then there are the twins. Luau LuLu is a lot like me. Loves the beach, limbo and to tan. I dont' know why tanning. I'd rather swim myself." Hula Bob chuckled at the though of tanning. It was lost on him.

"What is your family like? I haven't seen Vale or Dizzy in a very long time. They used to come to my bar. Way back in the olden times." Hula Bob chuckled some more. Now he was just playing up his age.

"That's neat about your family's tradition with names. I have never heard of one like it on the island...but then... I don't get out much." she was smiling, with a slight frown at the end.

"I... can't swim." she told him, looking a little sad about it at first, but obviously not dwelling on it.

"And my family? Well... they're ... uhm... okay I suppose. I try to not be around them much, but I am forced to. Mom makes me lug books to the HQ library with her. Dad doesn't spend anytime with me and I never see Joi. And Lucius is a big pain in my rear, so I try to not be around him either." She shrugged and reached for another bite of food from her plate.

"Least its fun watching Dad torture Lucius regarding his girlfriend." she snickered a little and popped the food into her mouth. "This is good food!" she added with a quick smile.

Hula Bob listened to all of what Lucia was saying. He nodded and smiled but there was one thing that stuck out in his mind. "You can't swim? Are you sure? Have you tired? Cause that's a really big bummer." He told her as he ate more of his food.

"I could help you if you wanted. Then again, you might not want to." Hula Bob understood that some were afriad of the water. It could be scary if you weren't used to it.

"That's awesome about your family. Well, not all of it but I'm sure you love them and they love you even when things are a bummer."

Lucia smiled, but sighed when she heard Hula Bob's offering to teach her to swim. "Well, its not that I am scared to ... or can't... well, I mean, I really can't swim, its just ..." She looked at him, tipping her head for a moment. He seemed like an easy going guy, so maybe her wouldn't judge her harshly.

"I ... shouldn't swim." She said, more correcting what she'd originally said. "I ... inherited that ... thing... from my dad. My brother has it too. We're ... alergic to water." she explained to him. She didn't know the mechanics behind how it worked, only that she got very ill and it was painful when she was submerged in water.

Hula Bob looked at her for a moment. He had no idea Vale couldn't swim. Guess he hadn't ever opened the pool with the faes around or something. "Oh, I see. That's the biggest bummer I've ever heard." He patted her shoulder. For him not sufing would be like death. "Still, I guess that's how it has to be." He nodded remembering that life was like the tide. If this was Lucia life then there was no reason to be sad.

"Well, can you dance? We could dance. That hasn't anything to do with water!" Hula bob chuckled and finished off his food. "Or take a walk by the beach. As long as you don't put your feet in! Or my beach bunny anything you'd like to do!"
