Idly Madeline tapped the chrome edge of her office pen to her pink lips. Time in the field had been scarce lately, well, that was, D-corp hadn't been giving her too many class assignments. Either way, it was nice to be back with in the white washed walls of the medical room. Hmn, hopefully this appointment would be done before four o'clock. Yes, yes, if things went well and her patient showed up soon Madeline and...Stella? Yes, that was the name of the girl she would be seeing. Either way, Stella and her would be out of here in no time.

"I don't wanna get shot! I seen it on TV an'--no way!" Stella protested loudly as she tried to duck around Daisy's legs in a futile effort to get the hell out of Dodge.
"Well, you've gotta! Otherwise you'll get sick, and that's no fun, right? And this isn't like getting shot on TV, they just poke you with a little needle and then it's all over, and you're not supposed to watch shows with the other kind of shots anyway!"
"You sleep too loud," Stella replied, finally giving up on trying to escape and plopping down where she stood instead, arms crossed huffily and ears pinned back. She wasn't going anywhere now.
Daisy sighed. "I really didn't want to have to do this," she said, reaching into her pocket and producing a lollipop on a string.
Stella's ears perked. "Gimme?" she asked hopefully.
"Come and get it!" Daisy said, dangling it teasingly over Stella's head. Stella's catlike nature made itself well known as she jumped after it, following it as Daisy started moving forward. The pair made their awkward way to the nurse's office, where Daisy closed the door and leaned against it to prevent her ward from escaping. "Hi!" she chirped at Madeline. "Sorry we're late, Stella was being stubborn."
Stella, meanwhile, had taken advantage of Daisy's momentary distraction to leap up and snatch the candy, only registering her guardian's words after her prize was secure. "What?" she said, looking around. "Hey, you tricked me!"

Ready and waiting Madeline looked at the tray of injections she had prepared. Ah, it felt so wonderful to be waiting and ready, instead of rushed and behind schedule...the last few times Madie had been called into work they had over booked her.
The sound at the door caught her attention, bringing her back to reality. "Oh no, your right on time, I should say." Madeline smiled politely reaching over to shake Daisy's hand, before glancing down and noting Stella's displeasure. So, the young feline wasn't all that eager for her shots? That certainly wasn't a surprise. Thank goodness her parental unit had her under control, maybe things would go all right today? ...That loli-pop idea was genus.
"My name is Ms. Crossete, however, you can just call me Madeline," spoke the sub soothingly to mother and daughter. Glancing at Stella, the blond motioned over to the examination table. "You think you could climb up there for me Stella?"

"No," Stella ground out, falling to the floor once more. She wasn't going to get poked and/or prodded and nothing and no one was going to make her!
"Nice to meet you, Madeline, I'm Daisy," Stella's embarrassed guardian replied. "Sorry, she's usually so well-behaved..." Stella, believing herself safe for the moment, took that opportunity to try and free the candy from its stubborn wrapper. Daisy, using Stella's distraction to her advantage, scooped the panther child up and sat her on the examination table, almost dropping her as she began to squirm.
Stella flailed ineffectually at her guardian before turning a baleful gaze onto Ms. Crossete. "Don't shoot me," she demanded imperiously, pointing the half-unwrapped candy at the nurse like a loaded weapon.

"Shoot you?" Madeline stopped what she was doing for a second to think this one over. Children, the ideas they got in their head...there was something about they way they thought, innocent, creative, their inexperience made their behavior laughable. Kids were just cute, they made Madeline wonder what she had been like as a child...at an age before she could remember. Yes, parents always told their kids what they had been like. But, was it true?
A toss of her head, a demure smile, along with a soft laugh, "Are you afraid it will hurt my dear? It's not as bad as your friends make it out to be. Hurts less than a pinch, from your buddies or siblings. But if you’re really afraid there's a little trick." At this Madeline moved forward, gently taking Stella's hand, "Close your eyes."
