666 Satan, renamed O-Parts Hunter in the English language editions, is a manga published by Enix (later Square Enix) under its Monthly Shonen Gangan imprint, and created by Seishi Kishimoto, the younger twin brother of Masashi Kishimoto, creator of the highly popular manga series Naruto. The series draws heavily on Kabbalistic traditions, Judeo-Christian demonology, and Japanese folklore for its plot. Due to the internet and subbing associations, 666 Satan is slowly rising in popularity. Despite Viz Media changing the title, contents remain unedited as the first volume was released.

Characters
Post-time skip, the characters can be divided into a few major factions:

Crew of the Ophan
The main protagonists of the series. They are stuck in the middle of the fight between the Stea Republic and the Zenom Organization because of how several members of the group are sephiroths and each group is searching for the legendary O-Parts.

Jio Freed

Description:
Backstory
The main protagonist of this story, Jio is a boy with great battle skill, great trust towards his friends and an ability to persevere, but he also has an obsession with money and is not soon to show his feelings, often hiding them or blaming other factors.

His dream is world domination, which other people often laugh at, calling it a child's dream until they see his abilities.

Jio started his life without friends, the people in his village forcing him to leave after the death of his only friend Jin's parents for which he was blamed. He was later trained in the wild by a wolf, known as Zero. However, after completing his training he was chased away again, giving him a chance to complete his dream.

His third friend, came in the form of Ruby Crescent, a girl in search of her father. At first, he helps her as a paid bodyguard, but leaves once she runs out of money. She ends up fighting a man claiming to be Satan, but the real Satan (sealed inside of Jio) easily beats him once Jio is knocked out. Once Jio is conscious again, he says he will follow her till she can pay him for saving her.

After having Ruby for a friend, Jio grows out to be more trustful, quickly gaining more friends and meeting Mr. Wick and Mrs. Basil, which he sees as his father and mother (never having known his real parents).

Post time-skip, he has become the leader of the cyclops village, and sets up a trade and supply route, next to sending 'some early cash' so that the village can survive, showing his leadership and skill with money. He currently is fighting Zenom together with the rest of the crew.

Relation with Satan
Jio is the container of Satan - the No. 1i Demon, as can be seen by his half-white hair and red eye. At first, Jio seems unaware of Satan's existence, not knowing why the people in the village hated him, while in reality it was Satan that killed the inhabitants.

During the Entotsu City arc, Jio has a first 'meeting' with Satan in his mind, and Satan grants him the Devil's Mark, which appeared on the palm of his left hand, reading the number "666" with each six pointing in a different direction making a triangle. The Devil's Mark can be used as an O-Part and its effect is Absorb (Absorbing Spirit). After gaining it, he quickly used it against Wise Yuri.

While the mark gives Jio some of the most powerful effects, it also takes away a piece of Jio's soul, giving more and more control to Satan. During the Rock Bird arc, Jio finally loses control, and Satan is free, till he is forced to absorb the No. 10 Angel, which keeps Satan imprisoned. Once the Angel is removed four years later, Jio seems to be able to fight Satan himself, perhaps by the power of Ruby's jade pendant infused in his hand, already showing the ability to suppress Satan before.

Powers and abilities
Jio, being trained by both the legendary swordsman Kirin and the wolf Zero, has an unique style, being noted by a great deal of people including Kirin and Kujaku. Next to this, he also has skill in using the terrain, especially shown during his fight with Anna in Rock Bird. This, together with his O-part to multiply his energy, a pendant with over 100 different effects and the power of Satan, makes Jio a formidable warrior.

His O-Part is a boomerang called Zero (C rank) which is later upgraded by Kirin to Shin Zero (B rank) Zero's original effect was "Double" (double the power), but Shin Zero's effect is "Triple" (triple the power). After the time-skip his weapon is again updated, this time to Zero R, another boomerang type weapon that reacts to the amount of hatred in one's heart and changes shape accordingly.

Ruby Crescent
First Appearance: Chapter 1
Description:
A young treasure hunting girl who is researching the mysterious, legendary O-Part. She carries an extensive knowledge of ancient languages, and her other objective is to uncover the mystery of her father Jack Crescent's death. She carries a necklace (Jade Pendant) her father gave her, which is revealed to be a S Rank O-Part with over 100 effects. She is almost always seen with a smile, because she says that after her father died, she realized that just crying and running away won't solve anything. She always worries about Jio and Ball when they are fighting against other O.P.Ts. Ruby shares a strong friendship bond with the two, but seems to have more intimate feelings for Jio, and she has known him much longer. She is later revealed to be Sandalphon the No. 10 Angel and her "father" is actually a traitor to the Stea government and is not really her father, just a man who was taking care of her until she awakened as the No. 10 angel, though she still considers him as her affectionate father. Her soul is absorbed into Jio in the Olympia chapters when Satan is fighting Cross and gets a fatal wound. Post-timeskip Jio and his friends fight their way into Stea main base and Jio is able to reverse the absorption effect and restore Ruby's soul to her body. She is now able to use her Angel powers, though they aren't complete as of the latest chapter.

Powers and Abilities
As the No. 10 Angel Sandalphon, she has currently shown the ability to shrink the Giant Ophan to a tiny size, then revert it back to normal while making some design changes. This however, is not the true extent of her abilities according to Cross. She is not however, an O.P.T. but has shown herself to be adept at treasure hunting (due to her background) as well as solving riddles as shown in the latest chapters.

Ball
First Appearance: Chapter 8
Description:
A strange kid with dreadlocks who loves round things and joins up with Ruby and Jio after the events in Entotsu City, where he lived with his parents and younger sister. At first, Ball loved to pretend to be an OPT and loved to show off. He was greatly surprised when Kirin revealed to him that he was indeed a true OPT. He then received his O-Part, called Cool Ball (C rank), and its effect is Magnet (Magnetism). Post time-skip, he wields a new O-part, called Tricky (B rank), which are smaller versions of Cool Ball that seem to resemble marbles. Ball is revealed to have very good pitch and is able to distinguish different notes just by hearing them, although he can't play any instruments.

Cross
First Appearance: Chapter 4
Description:
Former commander of the Stea Republic SS Rank O-Part ship Shin (God). Cross lived alone with his younger sister, Lilly, after their parents left when they were younger. The two went to church often to pray for their parents' return. One day, Jio came to the village where Cross lived. The Satan inside Jio noticed Cross was the No. 1 Angel - Metatron, the only being he recognized as having the power to defeat him. So he erased the existence of Cross's village, including Lilly, who was actually a copy of the No. 10 Angel, and the Solomon's Key that would awaken Cross's angel form. Cross witnessed his village's destruction, so he knew it was Satan who killed Lilly. After his village was destroyed, Cross was taken by the Stea Republic onto Shin and soon found out he was an O.P.T. He is an extremely powerful O.P.T., and so became the commander of Shin. He continued to search for Satan, and Satan's plan was to absorb Cross's hatred and enormous power after it had matured enough. However, that plan was thwarted by Ruby and her jade pendant, the real Solomon's Key, who awakened Metatron in place of Lilly and changed the hatred in Cross's heart to purity. His O-Part is Justice (C rank), which consists of five rings. He is currently traveling with Jio, post time-skip.

Kirin
First Appearance: Chapter 14
Description:
A white-haired, pickle-loving hermit who is easily bored and lived on the outskirts of Entotsu City, famed for his knowledge about O-Parts (and repairing them) and his genius as a swordsman. His brother Kujaku claimed that no one has ever been able to wound him in battle. Despite his genius, he is not an OPT. A former Stea officer, he is now accompanied by his dog Jajamaru. After Jio, Ruby, and Ball departed from Entotsu City, Kirin decided to travel along with the three, because he wanted something to do. Kirin has been revealed to be the son of a Cyclops father and OPT mother, and is in fact the son of the younger brother of Mei's grandfather (see chapters 27 & 55). Kirin, unlike his younger brother Kujaku, has the Cyclops third eye on his forehead, which was open when he was born, and is very rare, if not completely unheard of. His weapon is a katana. It is widely believed by fans that he may be the Arcaido spirit in a new form due to his extensive knowledge about O-Parts and the fact that he his half human and half cyclops. As a child he was trained by his father to be a swordsman along with his brother. Every day when his brother and he would spar, he would beat his brother until the day that his brother beat him after obtaining the power of the Adramelech demon, where he walked in shortly after his brother had killed their father.

Amidaba
First Appearance: Chapter 9(silhouette), Chapter 11
Description:
Nicknamed "Seven-Colored" Amidaba, former Stea Republic Army Officer. She is a skilled O.P.T. and friend of Jack Crescent and Kirin. She meets Ruby in the dungeons of Entotsu City and aids in their escape. She also helps out in the fight against Mekisis and Wise Yuri. After the fight, she tells them to go to the Ruins of Dust Storm and meet with a man called Wick. Currently traveling with Jio post time-skip. She appears to have O-parts embedded into her hands, but is capable of using many O-Parts.

Zero
First Appearance: Chapter 5
Description:
A lone wolf who has been banished by other wolves because he is an OPT. He taught Jio all he could of fighting and survival skills. He hates both humans and wolves, but built up a friendship with Jio as they share similar situations - they are both shunned by others of their species. His bones are C Rank O-Parts, and their Effect is Haste, but using them causes extreme pain to Zero. In post time-skip, he travels with Jio.

Mei
First Appearance: Chapter 54
Description:
Member of the Cyclops, the original inhabitants of the O-Parts Hunter Planet. During the time-skip, and a few chapters post time-skip, she had a huge crush on Jio, and saw girls Jio talked to as adversaries. As a little extra, she actually considered Cross to be a rival as well. She acknowledged that the matured Cross is beautiful, female almost.

Surprisingly, she and Ruby become fast friends, despite Mei feeling envious of her beauty and Jio's feelings toward her. She apparently met Jio during the time-skip when Jio was nursed back to health by her village. She joins the party with Jio (by sneaking in) after the time-skip, and is now traveling with the party. Mei's older brother Tsubame, the former leader of the Cyclops village, disappeared around the time Jio entered the Cyclops village. After Ball fights with the changed Tsubame, Mei realizes that she used Jio as a replacement for her lost brother, and now shows affections for Ball. It is recently revealed that Mei's father was Kirin and Kujaku's cousin, making Kirin and Kujaku her second cousins. A recent chapter reveals that she enjoy sweets, and found the mayor of her village the most annoying.

Jajamaru
First Appearance: Chapter 13
Description:
Mainly used as comical relief, Jajamaru is the round dog of Kirin, and is ironically also an O.P.T. It was revealed in a more recent chapter that his biggest fear is one of Kirin's pickles coming alive and chasing him, and the thing that annoys him the most is Ball.

Jojomaru
First Appearance: Chapter 54
Description:
Jojomaru is Jajamaru's son. The only two differences between him and his dad is that their hair grows a different direction in front and Jojomaru actually likes Ball.

Zenom Organization
An 'underground' organization with the goal of getting rid of the Stea Republic, they are led by Jack Crescent

Commander in Chief Jack Crescent
First Appearance: Chapter 53 (Chapter 3 in flashback)
Description:
Ruby's father and a former Stea Republic Army Officer. He has betrayed Stea Republic and become a treasure hunter to track down the Legendary O-Part. Died in official record but is later revealed to be a traitor and head of the Zenom organization.

The Four Guardians

Kujaku
First Appearance: Chapter 25
Description:
The younger brother of Kirin and one of the Four Guardians of Zenom Organization. He is responsible for the dark kabbalah project that Zenom is conducting, and is searching for the devils. He is sadistic in nature and envious about his brother's ability to use the Cyclops third eye. He is the Devil No. 8i - Adramelech. Kujaku is an OPT but is never seen using an O-part, as he usually relies on his demon powers instead. When he was a child both he and his brother were being trained by their father to become swordsman, but Kujaku could never win during sparing matches against Kirin until he found an orb hidden in his mother's grave that contained the powers of the Adramelech and used it. After that he was easily able to beat Kirin, although once his dad realized how he won the match he was appalled and was later killed by his son. In recent chapters, he fought Kirin in the mirror ruins and activated his full demon form and used an ability that causes people to go through solid objects.

As Kirin began falling through the ground, he told Mei to use her cyclops eye to project him through the air. Kirin used his mouth hold his sword to to slice up Kujaku's demon body. Afterwards, Kirin gave Kujaku's sword, saying it belonged to him and that their father pushed him so hard because he wanted Kujaku to be better. After seeing his name carved on the sword, Kujaku sheds tears as Kirin walks away.

Rock
First Appearance: Chapter 48
Description:
One of the Four Guardians. He distrusts Kujaku and is aware of Kujaku's ambition to take control of Zenom. He is the Angel No. 5 - Camuel, and as a result has the ability to remove collected demons from the dark Kabbalah.

Spika
First Appearance: Chapter 48
Description:
One of the Four Guardians. She is very quiet and shy, and not much else is known about her. She is currently a suspected fighting opponent against Ruby, Cross and Futomomotarou within the Wing Ruins. She however, kindly greets them.

Franken Schultz
First Appearance:
A guardian that looks like a robot with a large mask for a face. The other guardians call him Mr. Franken. Recently, it was revealed that the robot is an operated O-Part and a brain inside is the O.P.T. controlling it. Franken claims claims to have once been an ultimate warrior, and it was his father, Professor Brownie Schultz, who turned Franken into an O.P.T. Additionally, it seems that Amidaba knows Professor Schultz. Franken has displayed very strong abilities, such as the power to spin very rapidly, destroying objects. He can also shoot masks out of his mouth that fit onto people's faces and take control of their body, and he can use this ability to destroy people's bodies by literally tearing them apart. Also, it appears his O-Part can hold demons.

Description:
A senior member of Zenom Organization. Elga traveled to the Dust Storm ruins with Kujaku and fought against Jio. After losing to Jio he is killed by Kujaku for failing him.

Wise Yuri
First Appearance: Chapter 8
Description:
A lower-rank member of Zenom Organization. He infiltrated Entotsu City to monitor the excavation of the S Rank O-Part Mekisis. Being emotionally unstable, he has a tendency to kill people without hesitation, even fellow members of Zenom Organization, and gets a piercing on his tongue for every person he has killed. His O-Parts are two rings called Brothers, they each have individual effects that work in tandem: Remote Handling and Teleportation. After Mekisis is excavated, Wise takes it over to fight Jio. He is defeated by Jio and then absorbed by Mekisis.

Museshi
First Appearance: Chapter 15, Chapter 18(first speaks)
Description:
A low-rank member of the Zenom Organization. He was one of the many agents who were attacking citizens of Entotsu City while Mekisis was destroying the city. He was Ball's first real opponent in a fight after becoming an O.P.T, and ball was struggling at first, until he exploited Museshi's severe acrophobia. Museshi always bends down while walking because he thinks the distance between the sky and the ground is too far when he stands up.

The Cyclops

The Cyclops are humanoids, and the original inhabitants of the planet where 666 Satan takes place. Normal humans are descendants of space travelers. The Cyclops have long since hidden in their village, but are now coming into the open. Unlike Cyclops's in ancient Greek mythology, Cyclops in 666 Satan have two normal eyes, and a mark on the forehead. The mark will only open into an eye for a few Cyclops and grant them with incredible abilities. Other differences with normal humans include skin and hair color: So far all Cyclops have had white hair, and a brown/greenish skin. Since O-parts are the weapons of the space travelers, no Cyclops O.P.T.s exist. Even while their ancestors where forced to hide from humans, the current generation bears no grudge against humans, recently making Jio Freed the village leader and starting trade routes with other villages for supplies and such.

Human/Cyclops crossbreeds can exist, often taking after one of the parents, having either human or Cyclops skills. A mixed child does have a human skin color, however. Not very much is known about Cyclops/human relations, expect that it's discouraged by the Cyclops people, possibly because of the tragedies that follow after human/Cyclops couples have children such as Arcaido, who killed 90% of the world population after dominating the world, and Kujaku, who killed his own father, the brother of the village mayor.

Demons
Unlike the Angels, these beasts are either born into or obtained by a host. While some like Lucifurge and Satan need conscious activation, others like Adramelech, Lillith and Naamah have powers and adaptations constantly activated, and finally Beezelbub has fully mastered his abilities to have his powers as natural abilities.

Description:
Satan appears to have been inside Jio from a very early age. For some unknown reason his containment inside Jio appears to have changed Jio's physical appearance by making one half of his hair and opposite eye white. He seems to want to escape from Jio which may mean he is inside of Jio against his will. Early on in the series he gave Jio some of his power in the form of The Mark of the Beast which is found on his left hand. The only problem with this is that every time Jio used this O-Part he gave the power he absorbed from using it to Satan so he could eventually take over Jio's body.

Beelzebub

Description:
Beelzebub used the alias Ikaros and created Rock Bird City. In this city he held the Olympia Tournament to gather the strongest O.P.T.s in the world in order to find the strongest one and extract any information about the legendary O-Parts from him/her. After getting the information he would use their high spirit density to fuel Rock Bird's floating device as the city was constructed from O-Parts and Ikaros' body. After having the majority of his body destroyed by Jio he was captured and inserted into the reverse Kaballah by the Zenom Organization.

Description:
Lucifuge was obtained by Yuria while she was playing in some ruins looking for her father and brother one day, it appears to have the ability to use a form of invisibility that sends it to another dimension. On top of that it also appears to send everything it eats into that same dimension.

Kujaku found the orb containing this demon inside the headstone of his mothers grave. After obtaining this orb so that he could have the power to defeat his brother Kirin in a fight he expected to receive recognition from his father. However his father was disgusted by the fact that Kujaku lost his graceful style. After defeating his brother he proceeded to kill his father with his new found powers because he thought his father favored his brother over him as a son.
