I was just thinking one day and noticed that there is always a trace you leave behind. For example if you were to lets say, watch TV the money would be charged on the bill and the TV would have a trace of it being used. lets say you work and pay the money back. The work will have left a trace of you doing it. And it will keep going on forever. Do you get what I'm saying? Give me a scenario and I will show you how you can leave a trace of "something".

If you find that interesting, search up "chaos theory" - a whole model built around the "flap of a butterfly's wings" idea.

I find it to be an interesting concept, since what you describe does tie into chaos theory. Though I find the theory itself to be a constant amusement to me (weatherpeople will never be 100% accurate according to the theory).

To be honest, what you said I believe is chaos theory / butterfly effect. The 'what if this hadn't / had happened' bit is basically the basic (but not scientific) definition.

Though 'trace' had me thinking in terms of the internet, where you also leave traces... unless you're a proxy-freak or use Tor or the like, and modify your computer to keep no records. ^_^

We do leave a trace, it's true, both physically and socially as you said. That's why it is harder to get away with crimes now than in the past, because they can find your fingerprints, hair, skin cells, and sequence your DNA. But CSI still isn't quite as perfect as TV might lead you to believe.

here is a situation

a person commites murder, but there are no finger prints. How do find him?

The twist is: He has no skin.

I am not sure I follow. I know what you mean, but I guess it doesn't really make sence to me completely.

What is this Chaos theory?
Butterfly effect mentioned?
That sounds very interesting.

I'll have to look that up.

It's too much of a strain on the mind to really try to stop and comprehend the significance of just living for one day, and moving through the world.

God knows what each of us might have done to the future.

Well, lets take an example.

Lets say you are walking through a field eating an apple. You get to the core, so you throw it on the ground. Well, the seed in the core grows into an apple tree. 35 years later, that apple tree falls on a house that was built nearby.

You just indirectly destroyed a house 35 years into the future.

Oh yes, I see.
Better example for me to follow...I guess.
I get it, but I was a bit confused at first.

Is that perty much the concept of chaos theory?

Pretty much, yes, though of course because it's a movie it also has time travel involved.

Sun Charm, what do you mean by "the TV would have a trace of it being used"?

In any case, though you still leave traces and marks on the world - physical and mental - it's still possible, barely, to live "off the grid" as they say.

there was a man on the tv show Max X who had burnt his fingerprints off through his...hobby... of long term electrical shock.

I mean like after a certian time tv's break don't they? They break because they are used. So that means it has a trace of it being used.
